Most of episode 2 is repeats.
What the fuck...
There's still new story to be revealed right? The end of act 1 made it look like a lot of new shit happens in act 2. I haven't massacred my own mother base yet.

Chapter 2 is super rushed and obviously unfinished.
Leave it until last! Do all the side ops and missions you can before letting Quiet disappear.

WHAT THE HELL??!?!?! WHY WOULD THEY CUT THIS?

Wow so Venom is the real BB? If that was apart of the tape FTMWSTW I mean.
When is the mother base massacre?
It it helps, think of Chapter 2 like an epilouge or "post-game" similar to other games like Dragon's Dogma.
Yes there's still new story but most of it is disjointed/"episodic." Just keep doing side ops and it'll unlock all the way to 46.
Wow. I'm literally furious. This game is straight up incomplete story-wise.
It's also hilarious how Venom convinces Miller to let Quiet live. He's satisfied with throwing her in a jail cell. Really? Did nobody just see her slip out of handcuffs and vanish?

Venom probably wasn't as numb to emotions as Big Boss and just wanted to tap that.
Whenever people post off-the-cuff solutions to MGS plotholes they always sound plausible
One guy on a forum I went to pre-MGS4 got shit on because he had the gall to suggest that Sigint was the DARPA Chief.
I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean. Like some weirdly backhanded compliment to TLoU.This and Arkham Knight prove that there's still a place for 'videogame plots', and not everything can or should be The Last of Us.
Quiet is Medic's younger sister who was kidnapped by the KGB at a young age, he saves her because in his heart, he knows it's her. Duh.

I said this earlier, but do we think the reason that Volgin stopped his rampage and didn't kill V was because he realized it wasn't the real Big Boss? That's what I interpreted the stare as.
Volgin was far more boss than Skull Face in 3 and 5. Physically more intimidating than most antagonists too.

That's probably because it's really stupid and has no basis other than they're both black dudes.
Mgs4, lol.

He was aesthetically one of the most badass characters (great sound design) but his fight doesn't amount to much. A little lame since he is built up early as a nemesis.
Of course. It is a typical zombie apocalypse plot, humans are mostly terrible, blah blah blah. It's executed fantastically.I thought TLOU's plot was uninteresting. It was the way it was told that was done well.
I could probably ramble on with more points, but yeah, overall a thumbs-up. MGS ends as it should, in a very MGS way.
I thought Skull Face didn't feel pain. He sure looked like he did before he died.

I remember reading a MGS2 review in EGM that said that.So this is how it ends. Not with a bang, but a whimper.
Now that everyone has basically finished the game and we all see the review scores, I think it's safe to say that this game is going to be absolutely annihilated by popular reception for the amount of praise it got in reviews and the insane number of 10/10's
The story. I mean, simply a good third of the main stories could have been trimmed into the side ops, so many of the missions never actually had anything to do with the story, and it feels like most of the story was back logged, the first half of the game simply had little story.
Skullface's story ended alright, nothing amazing but I felt it was serviceable enough. Once we hit Chapter Two it became instantly apparent that this game ran out of money. For so much content, once C2 starts it becomes instant grind with five or so new missions to play, and then you grind more to get the actual ending where you find out that everything you knew about Big Boss was basically a ruse.
Speaking of that, one thing that doesn't make sense with that reveal is the fact Miller told Phantom that Eli wasn't his kid. If their job was to keep the illusion (for the time being) why wouldn't they have just told him "Yea the little brat is your clone, that's why he hates you"?
Not only that, but it's pretty funny that they actually explained in the timeline that Solid Snake kills the Phantom Boss in MG1, pretty much shitting over the entire lore and history of the series in one big swoop.
I really, really want to get the whole story with this games development. They ran out of money, but I have to ask why the hell they made the first half of the game so long to the point where they were forced to basically scrap the second half with all the actual plot threads being tied up.
Minor confusion at the ending: that the tape has Operation Intrude on one side, should we take it that Venom is only made aware of his situation around the time of MG1? (I'm probably looking too much into it because of the MSX)
And what does Venom coming back to the mirror he's covered in blood with a bigger horn mean?

But he's become a demon.
What does that even meanBut he's become a demon.

It's like kojima wrote that line cause he thought it sounded cool
