Was the reveal that you didnt play as the real BB a shocker to you guys?

I was like 'wait a second' during the intro. Ishmael had Kiefer's voice and i had to choose a name and avatar. And i have a prosthetic arm, BB didnt have a prothestic arm. I was screaming ' Koooojimmmaaa, what are you up to? in my head

You'd have to be pretty oblivious to get through the opening without at very least suspecting it. It's basically spelled out to the player, to the point where it can feel like Kojima was bludgeoning it in.

I suspected something but I just thought he was just something he made up in his mind or something after he disappeared from the ambulance. I should've known for sure after the Eli DNA tape but I thought maybe Eli wasn't liquid.

Holy shit I need to upgrade my stun arm.

So Hand of Jehuty is bad? My problem is the distance is way too short, but I assumed when I upgrade the distance will be good enough.

The upgraded distance isn't so bad, I just can rarely find uses for it. It's fun though.

It's sometimes useful in an FOB if the defender doesn't come and if you can lure a bunch of guards together, because for some reason if the guards notice you grabbing someone with the arm, they go to where the guard was, not where Venom is, so you can do it repeatedly if you get a good spot.

Can we also talk about what a wasted plot point Volgin was? What terrible use of a great villain.

Volgin, Eli, Ocelot, Big Boss, Mantis, Skull Face. the whole game is nothing but wasted potential. The only character who really undergoes development is Kaz.

Am I the only one that really wanted to know wtf the headphone jack in Chico's chest was about and kind of annoyed at how Chico is just kind of talked about dying on the chopper in some throwaway line of dialogue on a tape?

Also the fact that the return to Camp Omega was cut/never in the game/a lie/whatever annoys the fuck out of me.. and really the game has absolutely nothing to do with Ground Zeroes other than the end of it and that skullface destroyed mother base. But Skullface's characterization seems vastly different as well all the shit involving Chico.

The more I think about this game the more pissed I get..
It wasn't a jack. It was hole in his chest. He was messed up mentally as a result of all the stuff he had been through.

Do you think there is something up with that Metal Gear ARG? Or is that just a fan trolling? (Sry if this was already talked about in here, i didnt saw it)

€: Oh, the reddit post got deleted this very second, lol.

I know a lot of people had suspected it, but it felt too obvious.

When BB says I am you, I thought it meant a figment of his imagination, he created this character to help get him through the situation. I actually though we were gonna replay the mission, but without the Ishmael and we were gonna see ourself fighting Quiet and doing everything ourself.

I started to suspect that something was up when the DNA test came back negative.

When the moment came, it was great and felt like a great twist for me, I know a lot of people don't care for it, but I enjoyed it.

After Eli runs away with the children and Sahelanthropus, how do I unlock the next mission? I have no Important Side Ops to do, and only a few seemingly unimportant ones left..

just do stuff until miller calls you about stuff.

I tried doing a Side Op and he said that "we got a new job offer", but all missions that are available are still only the replay old missions in Extreme/Full Stealth.. The last one is still Proxy War Without End.

Chico is not dead.

#TeamChicoAlive

He'll be back. They always come back.

As for the headphone jack. He's got an ipod stuck in there.

I think that's when Skull Face was developing the english parasite strain? There was a tape that hinted at them wondering where Skull Face developed it and how it must have been in a small and secret location. The Camp Omega blacksite would fit. But also I thought Skull Face only found out about the vocal chord parasites after the events of GZ. So I dunno.

I changed my avatar to look like Gray Fox with his white hair, eye, and scar. I feel better about the ending now. (just ignore snake killing the Phantom part!)

THIS IS WHAT I ALWAYS WANTED!
But if he does Quiet's idle animations... uh...

Time for Snake/Ocelot buddy shenanigans in the jungles of Africa!

Also, more unused Kiefer dialogue. Did you know he was intended to have voiced interactions with Paz? And his dialogue is so good! Dat Chico reference!

Considering how the Paz stuff works out overall, I'm glad they kept it at about the amount of stuff they have it at. The part where Boss should've been going over hallucinations throughout the entire game yet was just relegated to the opening chase and Paz is bizarre enough.

I got the Truth ending last night and luckily avoided all spoilers before seeing it. Love the game and I am going to continue plugging away at it to try and get that platinum.

Only things I am disappointed in are:

1.) Can't get Quiet back. If they want her to stay gone AT LEAST give me some equivalent buddy.
2.) No unlockable lever action gun like the one Skull Face uses
3.) No unlockable Triumph bike to have on missions. It'd just be nice, but I guess it would be new animations for just one thing.
4.) No Single Action Army to unlock. Why is MGS3 the only one to let us have this? Even the Adamska special SAYS revolver but is actually like the Burkov. Sucks :(.

Man that would have been amazing.
Just imagine it showing up on Mother Base with a note
"From BB xo"

Well, I find it odd that so many have an issue with the Truth ending. I fucking loved it. It's like the reverse of The Usual Suspects. During the final scenes I was getting a very strong Keyser Soze vibe.

Honestly, I think the ending is great. I'd rank it third behind MGS1's (2nd), and MGS3's (1st).

Such rage...

I'm with you. I was awestruck at first and a little unsure how I felt, but in the moment that twist was incredibly intense and as a final message to the fans as a sort of "hey, you built this too". One final crazy Kojima twist with only partial reasoning but weirdly intriguing.

It wasn't the worst thing but Holy shit it was a terrible design decision to make you redo the same exact parts you did in the beginning all over again even with the tutorial like you haven't been playing for 40 hours at least already. Once they showed the revelation that you had plastic surgery skip straight to the ambulance scene. Shit the whole mission could've been a cutscene. It was just padding.

I liked it but I'm not surprised other people didn't like it. I find it quite harmless really since it doesn't change anything at all about future events, so it's just Kojima trolling one last time. I actually think it's impressive he managed to squeeze one more twist in this already convoluted story.

it was ridiculous. whole thing should've been from ishmael's perspective.

I think another big disappointment for me was not having a real final boss that you fist fight like all the other games. Would've been sweet if Skull Face had hand to hand experience and gave him a beat down instead or him going out like a punk.

Finally finished it and I think the whole thing is really cool. Unnecessary yeah, but I like how it re contextualizes the series.

The way the internet hypebole went I would have thought Snake takes of hiss mask and its just Coldman. Think this game is a perfect example of why people shouldn't go into something with their idea of what it should be because I did the same.

he doesn't even have the decency to jump in a giant robot like everybody else

why do we never even fight skullface? he has a cool gun and could scream whooooooooooooooo when shot

Why did Kojima stop making bosses? Even with characters that could be a boss fight it's just like hey here's 4 tanks go nuts...

:(

Because the more variables you have to consider, the harder it is making gripping boss fights that must work to each and every one of these variables. This is why I knew beforehand that MGSV's open nature would mean less and worse boss fights than the more focused MGS games. Still, the Metal Gear fight in Mission 30 is great. Probably the most satisfying MG fight in the series.
