PooPs has the biggest retcon of all, you could say it's the one that irrevocably ruined the series canon: making Major Zero the big bad and by extension all of the MGS3 crew "The Patriots."

POOPS isn't even mentioned at any point in the game nor in the timeline at the end.

Ocelot even mentions in MGSV to having to collect the Philosophers Legacy for Zero years back, which is an event from Portable Ops. This fits with that Kojima said.

That was hinted ever since MGS3. When I first heard Major Zero saying that the password for the ADAM/EVA contact was "Who are the Patriots" and "La Li Lu Le Lo", I instantly knew this guy was suspicious.

What pisses me off is that in Kojimas goodbye video --- He talked with Baker... Don't get me wrong Baker's not bad, but that man is a DIVA! He acts so hoity and hot... and he's a giant narcissistic douche... he got lucky in his career in VA because he was originally the lead singer for Trip Fontaine who had a one hit wonder, and they were going for like a "nickleback/nirvana" thing... needless to say he was an idiot then too. He's even tried making an album starring just himself recently because that's what he wants... music fame, not VA fame lol. Again he's not a complete ass, but he a pretty ditsy, and airheaded drama queen.

Anyways Baker gets to be in the "goodbye MGS" video they made, and he's like "Thanks for letting me known for this legendary series!" even though Hayter has been in EVERY SINGLE MGS title until this one (and GZ) and Bakers been in this one, voicing Ocelot in a bored John Wayne impression... Like Hayter isn't iconicized as the voice of Snake... the titular character of the series.

Kojima has a weird relationship with Portable Ops.

He acknowledges that the "main events" happened, and he doesn't seem to want to retcon them. But he also tries not to mention the game because it was not made by him. The same with Rising.

From his own words we can assume that the events of PO are canon unless directly contradicted by other games.

I understand why they did it. They would have had to port over the engine it ran on, and it would have taken too many resources from the dev team. Same with the Evolution Skateboarding mini-game.

Not sure.
But you shouldn't worry too much, just fire them if you don't want them in the squad, you'll get plenty of A+ and A++ ones later, heck you'll get an S+ and S++ automatically at some point.

MGSV contradicts. MGS4 was all about Liquid Ocelot testing DNA on the system. The first 2 failed, which were Liquid and Solid DNA. Only Solidus succeeded.

Which means that Eli and BB never matched to begin with. Which means the tape in V is irrelevant.

I haven't listened to the tape but wouldn't a DNA test at least show that Eli was a clone? Eli not being a perfect clone of Boss is not the same thing as failing a dna test. My brother and I have the same DNA but we aren't perfect clones so by your logic we would fail a dna test?

They have Hayter's several lines in the interview. I have the CE and hearing his lines were an acknowledgement by Konami and Kojima that he IS Snake.

Sutherland is just a fake and player's Snake and has no contribution towards MGS as a whole. Wonderful actor but horribly under utilized in TPP.

It’s a pivotal sequence that helps set up the future of both Liquid and Psycho Mantis, and I seriously can’t believe it’s not in the game. There was so much setting up for this epic fight between Diamond Dogs and Eli—a fight that should’ve been there! (cut to 8:40)—yet it never actually happened. Metal Gear Solid V doesn’t even have a final boss fight. So sad.

Also where the fuck are those scenes??

One thing I noticed while rewatching the ending is that Solidus isn't mentioned anywhere. Kind of odd. Zero could have mentioned a third clone in one of the tapes and a line thrown in during the timeline portion and that would have been enough, but instead he gets no mention at all. Wonder what's up with that.
