Man that made Duran Duran seem straight up straight. The song makes me imagine Bond crying over his favorite broken ceramic garden gnome. It makes me think off Bond scraping the gold off of that girl in Goldfinger, and wearing her gold paint under his toenails from her dead body in memory for years. It makes me imagine that Bond replaced his pelvic bones with the teeth of the enemies he was most sexually attracted to. I am just thinking that the likes of Carly Simon are tougher bad ass spies then Sam Smith.

I would have rather had Ellie Goulding. The music is great, but if you don't listen well it sounds like he isn't saying anything at all.

That orchestra is writing cheques that Smith's voice was never going to be able to cash. I really like the overall tone of the song, but the vocals just don't keep the side up, I'm afraid.

So much hate for Another Way to Die.

I liked it, a good mix of innovation and classic Bond tropes, just like the movie. But also just like the movie, most people just want the same thing over and over instead.

Also dat Woolly Mammoth guitar pedal sound.
I loved Another Way to Die, dunno why it gets so much hate.

Should have let Lana Del Rey do it.

And I will also echo that A View To A Kill is one of my favorite Bond themes. Those vocals near the end! Made me a Duran Duran fan.

This isn't what they'll use for the title sequence... it'll be edited to be about 2 1/2 min and probably will be a different mix.

Not the worst Bond theme but it's in the lowest tier. It never gets to a hook and feels very slow because of it.

I like BowieZ's lyrics better:

Chorus lyrics are out!

Writing's on the wall,
When it crumbles,
We will stand tall,
Face it all together

Writing's on the wall,
When it crumbles,
We will stand tall,
Face it all together

Is anyone besides Chris Cornell going to attempt to put some effort into the lyrics so they better fit the theme and mood of their respective movie?

Yeah. IMO it goes like this: You Know My Name has the best lyrics and Skyfall has the best theme but also with decent to good lyrics. This song only has passable lyrics but I think the actual music is pretty good. It isn't as good as the other two mentioned, but I like it a lot more than the Quantum song. I don't really mind that it never really "takes off" as I see it as more of a serenade type like the earlier romantic themes, but I'm okay with that.

Well, I think it's quite nice. The writing is a bit shit, but everything else about it is quite pleasing. A bit softer than most Bond tracks, but I imagine it's setting the tone for the movie. Weird how it suddenly cuts out, though.

What a horribly disjointed chorus.

The chorus starts off very strong ('If I risk it all/could you break my fall?') - and I was like, okay, I could get into this - and then that dreadful falsetto kicks in and it completely ruins the whole thing.

Blah.

It's saved from being the worst Craig Bond theme thanks to the generosity of Jack White, who wrote one of the most epically bad Bond themes ever.

This is too boring to reach that level of awfulness.
