$60k, in Puerto Rico. Living costs are a bit high and salaries are way lower than mainland USA. I can add my profit from my software business but that's so variable I am not even gonna estimate. Still, I am better off than most people here in the island.
Moving to mainland USA, probably Florida as I got a nice 95K offer out there, for next year. My SO is an internal auditor and we are probably moving in together next year if all goes well and I make the move to Florida so I can probably add 60-70K to that income right there.

27, Part Time Town Worker, 23k. In other words a failure, I've been attempting to find another job for the last year. Must have sent out 1000 resumes without a single callback. Hell, I'm excited when they tell me no at this point instead of ignoring my existence. So happy I went to college.

27. Work part time in a hospital making close to $15/hr but not enough hours. Not sure what I'll make this year, as it's been a consistent change and shift change and all sorts of things.

I'm 24 and have been doing the same "temporary" job for 4 years now. I'm an Avid Tutor. On average I make like $300 a month, maybe a tad more now since its 12 hours a week instead of 9 like it was the last 3 years. I live with my parents and that money simply does not last :|
Going paycheck to paycheck on both necessary and frivolous expenses. Of course, it doesn't help that there is no consistency with pay cycles and what not (curse you, holidays!).

Seriously? I've never told anyone in real life what I would make and I would never ask someone their salary. It can lead to a lot of complications and resentment from either party.
About 40k, I'm 27. Work in vidja games. For a long time I made around 30k, that extra 10 removes a lot of stress. Went from QA at a shit rate, to QA at a better rate, to design at a slightly better rate.
I live near Vancouver, so this is basically shitty-rental-take-the-bus money. I mean, I have a used car I share with my girlfriend but if I was single I wouldn't own one.

It shouldn't be, in that employers have an easier time not paying people what they're worth if they don't know what everyone else is making.
I agree with you, though, that it leads to a lot of acrimony and false equivalencies. There are tradeoffs to transparency, always.

High five I'm in suffolk county, but I work in the city. As much as it sucks you may have to try looking for stuff in the city at some point. I used to work on the island in QA but got laid off in 2010. After a year of searching for something close to home, I finally just started looking in the city and found a job pretty quickly. Commute sucks but I have a much better job than I ever had.

Sales. I live in Vancouver. I'm just over 30. Income is $90k base salary + commission in my role. My commission has ranged from $50k to $100k+ on top of base.
I'm hoping to change this up soon though. I have a startup idea (well multiple ideas into a B2B SaaS solution) that I have been working on over the last 6 months. I had taken a break from work for a while to work on it. Feasibility & market analysis, costing plan, use cases, ui design, prototyping, etc complete. Business plan is pending a lot of things but the initial framework is done. I'm in the coding stage for pre-alpha, which is exhaustingly boring and takes a while (often why you'll see me on GAF up at 2am). I am trying to see if I can go the organic growth route instead of VC investment so it'll be a slow burn over the next 6-12 months before even considering go to market. Right now just side project as I cannot afford anymore to work on the startup idea only, and it's a long one as it's not a simple app.
So we'll see how it is in 12-24 months when I may commit fully to the startup and may be broke.

Very blessed though I'm working towards more because there's things I'd like to do for myself and I need to do for others that requires a lot more income. Eventually I'd like to be at a place where I'm not worried about money though I'm not sure anymore that that's completely possible.

It shouldn't invalidate your arguments. I retired at 34 and before I retired, I was a nurse practitioner making $107k in Orlando, FL. I have no student loans because of the GI Bill and my house is paid off.
And yet I'm part of the extreme left who believes in basic income for everyone. Your life comes down to luck as much as "hard work" in my opinion.

Considering the average US household income for 2015 was $53,657 (and that's household not individual) it's safe to assume that the only thing more exaggerated on GAF than income is dick size.

ooor it could be that GAF is not a good representation of the general public.
One could generalize that since GAF is a gaming forum, we have smarter people than the general public. Gaming, stereotypically is associated with nerds/geeks. Nerds and geeks often go into things like engineering, mathematical fields, computer science etc. Its not that hard to make some assumptions about this place.
Also as others have pointed out, making 100k in san fran or NYC is vastly different than making 100k in the Midwest.
If someone doesn't believe me when I say what I make i'll post my pay stub.
