Anyone actively dislike the game yet?

I'm still on the fence and I don't want to buy into GAF's early bird hype.

So far, yes. The dialogue is bland and has less options than Fallout 3. It also doesn't have the wonder that 3 did. Feels too similar. I like the base building tho and I usually hate that stuff.

I was pointing out how ludicrous it is to suspend your disbelief about some scientific issue with items decaying (which has been consistent in every FO game) but ignore the outright fantasy elements of the game.

Oh well I was under the impression the guy you replied to was talking about scavenging and not decay.

throw them in the stash. when you are at a weapon or armor mod station, you have a "send all junk to storage" button, its a godsend

I always do it in sanctuary (for now) since its my go to base

So when you stpre them they automatically become materials for mods?

By now nearly everyone reading this thread either has the game or has seen most of it haha.

But! If you haven't and you happen to be at all interested, I run a series called "First Hour!".
Where I basically play through the first hour of new games to give people a general sense of what to expect.
So, if anyone has yet to pull the trigger or wants to see more (or even just check out my video) I have a new episode up about Fallout 4.

I basically just give you the highlights of the first hour and what to expect well also talking about what I think about the game so far and such.
Let me know what you think, would be cool if a few of you checked it out :)

Survival mode, brehs.

Hard as FUCK. You gotta specialize, you gotta improvise, you gotta get creative, and sometimes, you actually have to run. A far cry from the "starring Keanu Reaves as The Batman" levels of ease that the last two Fallouts provided out of the box, even at their hardest.

I'm loving survival mode. It's tough, but doesn't feel cheap and everything now has a purpose and isn't superfluous.

First rule of any Bethesda game since the beginning of Bethesda games. Save, and save often.

Played around 10 hours, haven't advanced the main story much. I'm having a lot of fun so this isn't me having a whinge, but the way dialogue works, the voice acting and the dialogue are all quite underwhelming (to put it nicely). Coming off the likes of Witcher 3 and Pillars of Eternity it's quite jarring.

That Preston guy? Who the hell approved that audition :/

I'm also finding myself thinking a weird mix of 'wow that looks amazing' and 'wow that looks just like Skyrim/FO3.'

I almost pushed it until I read this in another thread! Sorry this happened to you, here's how to fix it:

Holy crap, you're both lifesavers, and I got it fixed. Nerve wracking, but I got it fixed.

For anyone in the same situation, these are the three screws in question (image with screws removed):

How do you recharge the energy?
Since I got the power weapon for the 1st time I could not figure that out!

You'll find fusion cores while exploring. Some places have generators to loot them from like the first one you'll get in the museum.

By the second time I used the power armor I'd found 3.

You'll run out of the fusion energy needed to power it.

Yep, as soon as I posted that it brings up a message in game telling me I can't use VATS etc.

So is fusion energy just an item that's found in the world or can it be purchased?

*edit*

Never mind, answered above.

Raider mission is aaaaass. Here's some help:

If you exit an area while enemies are chasing you, they will exit with you. So if 12 raiders are hunting you inside a building, zone out, they all spawn next to you.

At which point it's shotgun time. God bless that shotgun.

This is my first Fallout game which i bough for pc and after 5 hours i regret buying it. It is just not my kind of game i think.

It is incredibly boring. Everything looks the same. The guns feel the same. There are like 3(?) types of monsters. Of course they all look the same. Quests basically all the same in first hours.
The inventory on pc is the worst which i have ever seen in my gaming history. Same for the "map".
I dont know. Maybe i expected something like witcher 3 with an alternative setting and more action. What i got was a nuclear borefest. :(

Hope you guys enjoy it. Maybe i am missing here something.

Can you dismiss Dogmeat or make him wait at Sanctuary? Sneaking through a base, down into some tunnels and there are cans hanging from string..sneak past them, Dogmeat sprints through the entire tunnel triggering every single goddamn noise trap..In comes 10 Ghouls.

Someone didn't play skyrim on pc. Now that inventory was a disaster with mouse and keyboard.

I skipped the city because too much. Was doing fine in the base until that 2 turrent room.
I cannot see crap but they notice when I sneeze.

i don't suppose there's a some way to place custom map markers that I'm not seeing? I just found a hidden tunnel with a high level terminal to hack, and I don't think I will remember to come back.

Yeah, I don't remember if you just look at him for a couple seconds, or click A on him then look at him for a couple seconds, but you'll get a normal dialogue menu. Then I think it is Talk -> Dismiss and it'll give you a list of home locations you can tell him to go back to.

Looks like my Pip-Boy edition did indeed ship to my ex-girlfriend's house. Thanks, BestBuy! This will be an adventure <3
Was playing on Xbox (digital copy) until the internet went out because the provider mixed up account numbers and believed we had yet to pay for last month. My console is not designated as the "Home" device apparently, so I'm locked out until it's back online.
WELCOME HOME

Drat. So I have to take stuff out of the workbench and drop it, and then select each one to scrap?

Bethesda! There has to be a better way.

Heh, you should play Dead State. Neat little indie RPG (very evocative of the first 2 Fallout games) that just happens to have the *worst* inventory and party management system in place I have come across.
