Anyone know of the significance of these particular non-interactable objects?:
monkeys with the cymbals that clap and eyes flash when you near it? I see them now and then and can't interact with them. They're kind of creepy.

they are used as an trap by raiders...like an alert system, if you sneak by them they dont make a noise.

Yo... what's the deal with stupid settlers sleeping on MY bed in MY house that I built. I legit stared at that idiot for a good 20 seconds contemplating on rewarding her stupid ass with a shotgun to the face, sleeping on my bed like that :/
Ayyy lmao, you cant reclaim beds?

On PS4, running into a glitch where I turn invisible while crouching (kinda looks like stealth boy), and it renders my pip-boy useless.

Has anyone seen this? Happened just after the infamous elevator quest

Edit: It's a glitch with a special piece of armor I found: "Chameleon Painted Metal Left Arm: Enemies have a harder time detecting you while you're sneaking and not moving."

Unequipped it and it's fine now.

i actually did shoot her in the face but turns out she's basically immortal so.

yeah fuck sanctuary.

God, it was kinda depressing finding that
Vault-Tec representative
from the beginning of the game in
Goodneighbour, all Ghoul-ified.
It's little touches like this that can really embolden just how dramatic a shift it is, being frozen for over 200 years.

Looks like you can unlock some craft for your base :o

Also, how often do you guys see Legendary enemies ? I've put the difficulty to hard but I didn't see even one :/

I've seen about 30 legendary enemies(maybe more, I've stopped counting) in about 15 hours of gameplay on Survival difficulty.

I had one encounter where a legendary rad scorpion showed up and was kicking my ass, I started running away popping stimpacks with it on my tale, only to crest a hill and a legendary hound was there. The hound started chasing me too until I then ran into a legendary super mutant who proceeded to fuck up both the hound and the scorpion up and with the super mutant only having a bit of health left from fighting both of those animals I mopped him up and picked up the 3 items. It was awesome.

Every time i have slept in MY bed in sanctuary, I wake up next to someone.

It's all about free love, man.

Our radio broadcast slogan: "Come to Sanctuary for the protection, food, and water. Stay for the orgies."

I'm stuck, help!

I've cleared out the
Castle
, destroyed all the eggs I can see but I'm not getting a prompt to do anything else.

Any ideas?

Look around for any adult Mirelurks that are hiding, either buried underground with their shells poking out or just wandering around somewhere

Anyone know if you can craft ammo?

Also, did everyone else have a super rough time on survival difficulty in that assembly plant? There were so many raiders. I couldn't sneak around for shit. Wish stealth was better :(

I run into them pretty frequently. They're often scripted as part of quests too.

That legendary death claw I stumbled onto though.. not cool. First enemy I had to cheese my way through

Anyone know where i can buy more of those power cores for the armour? I've just finished the corvega quest.

You can buy them at shops, but they aren't cheap. If you do the main quests you will get a ton of them. Also look in trash bins

Played 20 hours on survival, difficult but fun. Going max int and energy weapons. Lots of legendaries (i have a chameleon piece that stealths me when i crouch that messes up the pipboy but is so good for stealthing). Not that many good energy weapons it seems but I like the modding/crafting/shooting/new perks anyway.

Nice, will watch now, thanks.

I got you, man! His issues with the dialogue were a big part of the reason why I just couldn't get through the game. Also, I just couldn't get motivated by the narrative or the setting. I'm returning the game, but maybe my opinion will change further down the line.

Is there a point to carrying multiple weapons of the same type? Are you guys dropping them, selling them, or stashing in work bench?

I've been stashing them until I get the second scavenger perk that lets you get advanced parts from them

Are the quests adding beds, water, food etc? Yet to do the food one if they are, thanks!

no, that's the other guy. the quests are helping other settlements

Ah, onto that now, thanks :)

How are follower perks unlocked btw?

Thread moves fast, asked a couple times and not sure if anyone answered...

I'm trying to justify my 7STR by using big guns and the heavy gunner perk. The minigun is already pretty amazing with it. Is there any big gun I should be searching after? I don't have any energy-weapon related perks and i'm not going for explosives either. Am I pretty much limited to the minigun?

Also, do laser rifles count as non-automatic rifles for the rifleman perk?

omg............this entire fucking time I was pumping points into the base attributes thinking they needed to be maxed out in order to unlock the next tier for that ability.

So intelligence needed to be maxed out before moving onto the next level and it would light up

Nope the only reason they are grey is because they are not bought....but the base number represents what level you can go to!

Fuck me........is there a way to respec or do I have to start over? I mean its only 7 levels and two days thankfully.....but son of a bitch did I waste all those points.

I did the same EXACT thing lol. Dont feel bad. Since there is no cap, I decided not to restart.

Been avoiding this thread because I like to go in fresh.

This works to my detriment, because I did the thing I've done with every Bethesda game since Oblivion. I play 2-3 hours and realize I don't like my starting build once I get a better idea of the progression system. Then I start a new game.

I made that mistake at first too. The interface in this game is really abysmal, I don't believe they had a single UI designer on staff. It's just terrible. It's not even a controller/input problem, it just doesn't make these things obvious and it's hard to read and get useful information.

Is it possible to connect a generator/pylon to a house for electricity? Or do I need to attach a wire to every single item in the home?

its just like building your town.....there really is nothing showing you what to do.....I don't even know what I need to do to light up the damn bulbs in the house I put up lol.

Speaking of local leader... I built a few shops, but aren't they supposed to generate income? Or is it just the store's balance that grows so you can sell more expensive items -- and get back the money you have to sink into building a store?

They didnt even tell me how to use vats, i figured it out though.

Settlement Questions:

Settlement Defense
- Does actual placement of defense matter in your settlement building, or just that you're green? For example, in Sanctuary, I have a few turrets at one entrance to the camp w/ a solid gate and settlers manning the entrance. However, the other side of the settlement is wide open. Wondering if I have to secure all around with fences, or as long as my defense rating is green I am okay.

Settlement Duties
- Is there a way to quickly see what duties settlers are assigned to?

Supply Lines
- When you put someone on a supply line, are they on that one permanently? Or once it's established, can you put them on another?

...and finally. Simple mod requests (to make it to XBOX One):
- remove helmet in cutscenes.
- when Dogmeat barks, he should be marked on the map?

so about this settlement building business

It seems you have to open workshop mode, try and figure out/remember who hasn't already got a job, go up to them, then slowly walk over to the resource you want them to work. Why can't you sprint? Why isn't there a list of people in the settlement who don't have work? Did Bethesda test this at all? It's so tedious.

They didnt even tell me how to use vats, i figured it out though.

They switched the VATS keyboard shortcut on the PC version from V to Q, so I spent the first two hours thinking that VATS would "unlock" once I had played through the opening parts of the game or something. Good thing I scrolled all the way to the bottom of the keyboard controls in settings.

Settlement building sucks. I love the concept but the UI and execution leave a lot to be desired.

Oh man that's all part of the Bethesda Charm. This is why you play on PC so you can fix things with the console.

I'm on PC. Do you know the command by any chance?
