Batman v Superman Exclusive Look

This is why I distanced myself from MCU GAF, just blatant fanboyism from a few can cause others to either join in or alienate other fans.

Isn't enough to just love movies based around comic book characters?
Isn't what your describing the nature of all groups? Eventually turn inwards becoming increasingly exclusive.

Man I wasn't sold on him initially when they first casted him. Now I think he'll do great. I already believe he'll be a good Bruce. But seeing him in the Costume. I'm convinced. I think he'll do a good job.

I think people are hesitant because we know Ben and you just don't know how he's going to play this role. But I think he's taking it seriously and I think he'll do good.
Like I said, I got a convoluted reason for not being sold on him. I think he'll deliver for sure, but I don't see Batman or Bruce Wayne when I see him here. All I can see is an actor. The fact that the real life reasons why it isn't Christian Bale is some complicated Hollywood bullshit also doesn't help my feelings about this.

But, I am still going to see it and am excited for it. I got issue with cap3 too but I'm still excited for that as well. Are they both coming out in the same month next year?

Holy fuck man, so epic...two versus superhero movies next year in the same damn time frame

I'm pretty sure bvs was supposed to come out this year and go something like toe-to-toe with Av2, but I suppose this'll be just as interesting.

Why is Batman wearing a gunslinger jacket like he just came in from a 70's western? How are his arms bigger then his head? Affleck has a big head.

And are these good guy vs good guy movies (this and the next Capt America) supposed to be making some type of statement or is it just coincidence?

It really is odd. I only recently got into comics, and still prefer Vertigo and Image stuff to Marvel and DC, but it's still absolutely amazing to see this smorgasbord of pipe dream comic book movies.

Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman on screen together. The Avengers onscreen, Suicide Squad. Spiderman finally alongside other Marvel characters. A badass Captain America (thanks Russos). Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Ant Man all getting/got movies.

It's a fantastic time to be a comic book fan. It's a weird attitude to have that you can only enjoy one or the other

Love the fear that Superman can bring out in Batman. Decades of facing and putting down the worst monsters imaginable but this alien comes out of nowhere and changes the entire field. Wednesday is gonna take forever to arrive.

Dudes always had a great intensity to him its one of the few good things in Daredevil.

I kinda like the mixture of happiness and unbridled negativity makes things way more interesting.

It's not even about positivity vs negativity. It's the fanboy and "us vs them" mentality. It's just tired at this point. DC fans are all hurt like they girl just called them out the blue and told them they have a little dick and Marvel fans are so high off snorting shredded copies of printed box office numbers that they are beyond insufferable. You can even really discuss shit or offer any kind of criticism cause everyone is so invested in how their "side" is doing.

It's the same reason I stopped posting in gaming. Shit is tired and these threads aren't fun anymore. They're even more humorless than people claim DC's movies are. lol

It doesn't make any sense when it comes to media almost everyone in the world can consume.

Exactly this. I get it with gaming at least because you only have but so much money to spend on games. So of course you would choose a side.

Motherfuckers watch ALL of these movies and TV shows. ALL of them. What side are you really picking? Why? lol

Agree 100%.

Ever since distancing myself, I've found myself getting far less annoyed when browsing GAF. Just here to give my opinion, respond to well thought out posts and have a little fun.

Edit: And I can also give negative feedback to something without people piling onto the post.

I totaly get exactly what you mean man. You see more of the actor instead of the character.

Especially since this whole bvs shit is reactive, not proactive of WB, I'm pretty sure they've had all the DC rights for a long time but didn't really care to make a shared universe until this decade. They should've worked with what they had, it was pretty damn good stuff.
This is just factually wrong. Justice League mortal was 2 weeks from filming until the writer's strike in 2008 with George Miller directing. Batman vs Superman has been a thing since 2008's I am legend too.

The good old 'disappearing black eye make up' returns!

Yeah, noticed right away and got a good lol out of me (^____^)

Definitely got a Nightmare sequence vibe from this. Don't know what's up with Batman's Trenchcoat though, lol. Rule of cool or is this a comicbook reference I'm not getting?

Looks cool. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what happens with this. Even if it doesn't turn out so good it's fucking Batman vs Superman so it's sure to be a fun watch either way

God no. Can you imagine trying to shoehorn realistic grounded Bale Batman in a movie universe where aliens, mythological gods, cyborgs, demons, etc. exist?
I never bought into this "nolan's universe is too grounded in reality" bullshit man. There's no way I will believe that

-some ninja-terrorist-illuminati group (League of Shadows)
-or some drug that could make Batman look like this to scare people but then make people try to kill him (Scarecrow Fear Toxin)
-or a psychopathic murderer could singularly figure out months and months of planning to blow up ferries and a hospital (Joker)
-or a man who can punch through concrete (Bane)

could ever exist in a "realistic" world, which there is only one; ours. Reality. None of this shit is plausible the way we know things.

Hey man, people like to say daredevil and jessica jones are gritty and "grounded" too but guess what, it's still part of the same universe where there's a talking anthropomorphic raccoon, and a sapient/sentient tree, and, humanoid aliens...and a giant green range monster, and you get the point. =]
no, I too think he's completely miscast as Batman. Not sure why they decided to pick an actor so completely devoid of charisma and presence and with the expressiveness of a dead mackerel to play him, going from Bale to him is one of the biggest downgrades I've experienced, but well
I'm not saying he's miscast. Hell I think if anyone though, Karl Urban would've been my choice but even if he got cast I wouldn't like it.

I'm saying not going with Christian Bale was a mistake.

But again, just sharing my thoughts. Don't mean to beat a dead horse.

I could be wrong, but I think Batman in Red Son wore a trench coat. That is a universe where Superman is a communist and an enemy to Batman.

Maybe that is an easter egg? Or maybe there is a real reason lol

Ah, never mind I was wrong. Still his normal costume with it looking a bit differently. Don't know why I thought he wore a trench coat lol

I would point out why that's funny, but they are treated as two-diff brands even though Vertigo often bleeds into DC

All I know is I will have some snacks ready so I can sit here and read the shit throwing all Wednesday night arguing which trailer was better between this and Civil War.

Looks great

Probably a vision related to Wonder Woman I'd assume

Excited. Hard to believe that we're going to get two amazing comic book movies next year between this and X-Men Apocalypse.

I totaly get exactly what you mean man. You see more of the actor instead of the character.
:\

it's all good though. the important thing is, we live in an age where, this movie's happening!!! that's the key thing here.

well iron man came out in 2008. which means the MCU was planned before that. and i'm pretty sure WB has owned DC since way before that, maybe way before xmen came out (which iirc, paved the way for other marvel movies)

Just once I'd like a bit humor in the superman v batman trailers. Even super serious captain America 2 had some good humor.

Batman, handcuffed to the chain, watches as Superman drops down and slowly walks towards him, grimacing.

Batman looks up at the handcuffs, chuckles, saying to himself: "Heh, should have brought a paper clip"

Superman rips the mask of Batman. Superman looks at the mask, and back at Batman, smirks, saying to Bats, "you looked better with the mask"

Well of course I agree I mean fans can be utterly toxic. But at the same time you can't really ever escape what your describing that's just how people work at some point. Not saying its good or even tolerable but it is what it is.

Well you can. Just don't post. Which is what I normally do.

I'm just bored tonight and procrastinating on my work. :p

Wel there is this too. What I'm getting at is that they've been trying to start their cinematic universe decades from now, the 90's even, so reactionary is not the right word. They might have put it on fast track, yes, but the DCU has been a plan since I have memory.

It was basically a trench coat. Also Bats and Supes were fellow countrymen. The trench coat is probably there as pure coolness factor.

For what its worth we're in similar boats, I'm just putting off studying now.

Honestly. I'm almost with you there. Have a thread where they can go and fight among themselves while thread like these for BOTH fans can actually discuss things logically without having the thread turn into a fighting match.
Real talk. It's embarrassing.

Im actually starting to think the dream is from someone else and isn't batman's.

It's a flashback to a dream Johnathan Kent had the night before he was swept away by a tornado.

Cue the big reveal at the end of the movie:

Johnathan Kent is the Spectre with Norman McCay foresight powers. Segway into a tease for the Kingdome Come movie

Bat chin and Bat scowl looking good. Superman on point. Looks like that nightmare sequence in which the dudes that worship Superman capture Batman.

so maybe they thought about it but it's no coincidence that they started developing it and then really got the ball rolling, long after the MCU came to fruition.

A+ post

Bats looks really silly being strung up and the only one wearing a mask. The looks he gives the other prisoners makes him look really out of place.

And then the black eyeliner magically disappears when the mask is pulled off. I dunno. I fear anything negative I have to say will be brushed off as being said by a Marvel fanboy but the camera angles are really boring and the entire sequence feels off. It's less than a minute of film though so it's hard to judge fairly, especially since the previous trailer looked quite a bit better than what's being shown here. Here's to hoping the rest of the next trailer looks better put together.

Dreams often don't make any sense and are we really complaining about "magic eyeliner?"
