Man i really want to see this movie this month, but with it being this huge AND releasing right during the holidays, i'll have to be there like two hours before the movie start to actually get a good seat, fuck that... I fear I might wait until January before seeing it. That or see it on December 25th or December 31st when people are too busy with Christmas or New Year's Eve.

I will also need to turn off ALL chat channels from WoW too. This game is begging to spoil you the movie at any moments.

Movies are a visual medium, scripts are not written like books, a good script does not equal a bad film nor vice versa

You cannot read spoilers and know if the film is good or not, because you havent seen the film and the way its been directed and set up.

We know the entire plot but not every specific detail. Basically, we know almost every scene in the movie but the script never leaked so we don't know the dialogue, which prevents us from making key assumptions about certain things. It's best to just avoid it if you don't want anything spoiled.

Why not just get tickets in advance? IMAX screens let you pre-select seats. And its not like you have to get there early unless you see it opening day. Early morning Saturday/Sunday showings will mostly be empty even opening weekend. As will most weekday showings.


Oh and Dec 25th is one of the biggest movie days of the year you know. Theaters are packed that day every year.

Imo this is the one movie above all that I see people doing that shit

Being a hardcore OT fan, I'm worried this movie isn't going to meet my expectations, but I'm trying to temper them. My concern is that I never thought any of JJs movies were memorable. Thought the new Star Trek was sloppy and convoluted as hell.

Like I said earlier in the thread, I did it to clear my head of the EU and make sure I was going into the new canon universe knowing what it was going to be like. Aftermath, Shattered Empire, and Lost Stars only give glimpses of that since they only go up to 1 year after RotJ.

According to that site you're only getting Star Wars...

There was supposed to be 3 70mm theaters here in Michigan getting The Hateful Eight but its questionable now because the Weinsteins cut the theater count from 100 to 50 for the 70mm roadshow. I think they bumped up the wide release too to January 1st as a result.

Every time there is a big IMAX movie the Henry Ford continues to disappoint the shit out of me by not showing one (Star Wars/Hateful Eight/The Revenant). I think the last time they showed an actual movie was for Interstellar.
