Hopefully Kylo is s cool villain. I can't remember the last villain that really stood out in a movie. I ain't expecting Darth Vader icon status but they need to be much better than Marvel. Villains > heroes.
The design and lightsaber are cool enough. Now it all rests on the character himself.

No exaggeration I think that fight between Kylo and Finn is going to be great, but I think Finn will get absolutely bodied

Think Brock Lesnar v Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania before Seth Rollins showed up

Fucking

Bodied.

I agree, but how does one get destroyed in a saber fight but walk out with all limbs in-tact?

TO THE NON-SPOILED

I offer you the same services I offer my co-hosts on Full of Sith: If you're worried about maybe possibly being spoiled, or concerned that maybe you have been spoiled, but you don't want to ask out in the open, or go looking for an answer on the internet and get yourself into deeper trouble?

Just PM me.

I'll give you speculation that may or may not be accurate.

FTFY.

Nothing wrong with offering speculation though. It's a valuable service.

I thought |OT|s only went up the day before release? Or is that just a gaming side thing?

They said on Full of Sith podcast you cannot embargo a premier because you cant NDA the public who will go there (friends/family etc)

You can control who goes to film premiers though and invites can come with restrictions. It's not like the general public can just buy tickets.

I'm still not clear how ST:ID is terrible.

Sure, it's not the greatest sci-fi film out there and doesn't hold a candle to its 2009 predecessor, but it's far from a disaster.

Disclaimer: I'm not a big Trekkie

If you never saw any prior Trek movies, STID isn't that bad.

If you have seen the prior movies, STID is bad because it tries (and fails) to lift a lot of content from Wrath of Khan.

Star Trek (2009) was awesome because it tried new things and, while it had come callbacks, it didn't rely on them. It pushed forward and was a new adventure for fans old and new.

Star Trek Into Darkness felt like the filmmakers were afraid to try something new and instead simply cribbed from prior movies, hoping to make something familiar.

This would be a like TFA simply being a rehash of the ANH story, with some characters flipped around.

If TFA is its own thing and moves the universe forward, people are going to love it. If TFA just rehashes the same basic plot of ANH with new players, people are going to shit on it.

I agree, but how does one get destroyed in a saber fight but walk out with all limbs in-tact?

A villain who wants to "send a message." As in "I just kicked your ass, now run home and tell your Rebel buddies how badass I am and how you have no chance of winning."

Don't know if TFA will use that, but it is a pretty old trope.

I feel the same way.
The only problem with this theory is, how does one actually get bodied in a lighsaber duel without getting seriously injured or killed?

I'm expecting Finn to lose but am interested to see if he actually makes it out with all his limbs...

That coming out of hyperspace shot....

Ever since the full trailer came out with that entering hyperspace shot....goosebumps everytime!

Now seeing the coming out shot, while brief, JJ can really do space scenes damn good.

The Chinese one is actually the best one.

Yes it is.

I have a theory based on what they have said about Kylo and his lightsaber that at some point it fails in the fight, sparing Finn, but Kylo goes rampant, he is a totally unstable person, even Maul was quite professional, this is another level.

To be honest losing limbs in Star Wars isn't actually a huge deal. Both Anakin and Luke were still fine using a saber after losing theirs.
If Finn does lose a limb hopefully its a leg this time to mix it up a bit...

A precedent, has been set

I also think Daisy at some point will go supernova and force will ooze out of her like a volcano erupting

*This is just a theory

A bit like Neo at the end of reloaded in the real world

Maybe she will wake up in a room of white that is pure force, a gateway if you will, a station between the real world and the force world, perhaps she will talk to Yoda

It is Karma

When I fist saw that shot I was literally blown away. I will cry during the whole movie. Thats sure. That shot scene is like omg.

Does make me wonder if we will get JJ's infamous word art stating what Planet we are going to in the top right, worked in Star Trek, wont work so well in Star Wars.

Lost, Fringe and Star Trek all had it

Unless Disney intends to do it with every subsequent film, I doubt Abrams will do it with this one. There will likely be a consistent (visual) framework for the directors to follow and since Abrams isn't directing the entire trilogy then that word art probably won't be in the framework.

When was the last time a movie of this scale and hype was being released this is a freaking event.

Harry Potter last episode?

I work part time at a local cinema. We're showing this on Wed at 12am. Just booked the best seats in the house.

It had better be good.

was that really in the movie? it looks so bad and fake

In both movies, and worse, the most horrible crime of all, it was rendered poorly so it didnt even look sharp, it looked like fucking Word Art

I shouldnt have pointed it out because if you watch the films now you wont be able to unsee it

Still good films, I like them both

I have seen them both before but now It will not be unseen when I watch it again.

You know, it's amazing how the ending of the episode I and IV are too similar, this is great. I'm hoping for something like it in the Episode VII.

Protip: listen to the music of that scene, then listen to the Emperor's theme.

Protip 2: There's actually an after credits easter egg in Episode I

My head tells me someone has to die, but maybe thats not true?

Odds are for me Han, Kylo or Chewie

Similar. But they are like in a galaxy far far away. Ep1 ending is not even close to the ending of ep4. And ep1 ending was quite good tho. Except for Anakins "acting"

So glad I bought tickets to Star Wars Celebration next year

Might even get an EP8 trailer :D

Bet she says something like, "I am the hope of the universe. I am the answer to all living things that cry out for peace. I am protector of the innocent. I am the light in the darkness. I am truth. Ally to good! Nightmare to you!"
