All the "George Lucas Raped My Childhood" shit. I get it, people hated the last three, but with such intensity, kept up for 16+ years? C'mon.
You are engaging yourself in an already lost crusade, my friend.

Rainbows filled with midichloriansYeah, I know. I'm a dreamer. I chase rainbows.
I envy people with low expectations.
Do you really expect it to beat the nostalgia of the originals? Never going to happen. So those expectations aren't low, they are fair.
35 years
I think what keeps the prequel hate truly alive and intense is the fact that Lucas seemed to keep going back and making the original trilogy worse with each re-release. What Lucas did to the climax of ROTJ felt like it was almost spiteful. I think people would be more forgiving of the prequels (a little) if Lucas at least left the other movies alone.
Well you gotta admit, the stuff Lucas did to the OT was egregious, especially the end of ROTJ where if you watch the films for the first time, in release order, you gotta wonder who the fuck that long haired ghost is.
the prequels suck but whatever, Lucas can make whatever films he wants. I just found the shit he did to the OT series to be real crappy and bothersome. Glad to have the despecialized editions to put under my pillow at night, my dreams great enhanced by their being in my home.

You talking about throwing in hayden christensen as the force ghost, and the shots of the other planets celebrating?
I guess as reminders of the prequels it might sting a bit, but there nothing really wrong with those additions otherwise.

I actually prefer the end of ROTJ in the Blu-ray release. No Yub Yub, I say yes yes.
(And I'm old enough to have seen the films in the 80s)

Eh, this might be more of a problem for people who already saw the movies. Purely anecdotal, but I showed my girlfriend the OT over the summer, and despite having never seen the prequels or even knowing who Hayden Christensen is, immediately 'got' that the Hayden ghost was young Anakin.
99% of the time, I have low expectations for any movie. Rare exceptions being stuff like Fury Road and the Raid moviesI have fairly low expectations myself. I like Star Wars a lot but the trailers haven't hyped me up as much as I thought they would. Not the biggest fan of Abrams either. I don't expect it to be bad but I doubt that it'll be memorable.
I'm talking about adding the same "NOOOO" from Revenge of the Sith into Jedi when Vader takes down the Emperor. It ruins the scene and makes almost no sense to be there.
Naboo is the only prequel planet inserted in that montage. The Coruscant shot was included before Phantom even came out.
the new end of ROTJ is much better. Minus Hayden.
32 years to be exact. The same amount of time that passed from ROTJ to TFA is the same amount of time that has passed in real life.
Never had that problem and I had still the original Anakin Ghost.Well you gotta admit, the stuff Lucas did to the OT was egregious, especially the end of ROTJ where if you watch the films for the first time, in release order, you gotta wonder who the fuck that long haired ghost is.
Vader NOOOO in ROTJ is the thing that rustles my jimmies. For the actual final scene I actually prefer the new music over Yub Yub. I'm actually impartial to the Hayden change. On the one hand it makes no sense for his Force Ghost to look young again, but on the other hand the original actor was on screen as Anakin for a whole 90 seconds so I have no attachment to him.
The Phantom Menace came out when I was like 10 and I honestly struggle to believe that other kids around my age really hated that film and those which succeeded it. I personally loved them and my experience and memory is that my friends loved them too.All the "George Lucas Raped My Childhood" shit. We had a thread about this. The better ending won.the new end of ROTJ is much better. Minus Hayden.

Never seen the original ending. Any way to see it online?

Some footage from the premiere last night. Skip the red carpet bullshit and go to 8:15 when everyone's in the theater.

The "Noooo" in ROTJ is the only change Lucas made that bums me out. Kills it for me, as it didn't need to be said at all.
Horrible
Then you misheared, it was added with the Blu-Rays.Is it even there anymore? I just watched the Bluray of Jedi a couple days ago and didn't hear it. And I was listening for it.
