Now suddenly people in his staff screw him out of the running by way of a breach? Who's to say they weren't approached by outside people and bribed to do this? Who's to say those outside people don't have some connection to Hilary, or Trump even?

Trying but not really succeeding. The mods have removed a lot of threads that have headlines that don't angle the story in a certain way. The top stories basically reading as "Sanders threatens to sue !" "Why did the DNC leak this? Shillary's plan?" "Sanders Camp: The DNC is trying to undermine our campaign!"

Well off the top of my head there was the build up to the last debate, the black lives matter stuff (before they got it straight and fixed the issue), Bernie recently revealing he's already writing his inauguration speech (his staff should know better than to put that out there) and some other minor ones. Bernie is good, but his staff can't seem to get their shit together.

Man, this is sad to see. I helped build the network for Bernie's campaign office in Burlington, and it was pretty apparent from the get-go that if anything caused Bernie's downfall, it would be his inept staff. His "IT Guy" is basically a polisci major from his Senate office that "knows computers." I had to explain to him what the difference between a public and private IP was, and why it was important for his office to have a router.

Most of the staffers I've spoken with are there because they are fiercely loyal, and believe in the man. I can admire Bernie rewarding that loyalty, but it doesn't give him the most proficient staff.

I hope he can pull out of this somehow, but the more details that come out, the worse it looks. I can honestly believe that perhaps Uretsky is telling the truth and they were simply trying to show the extent of the security breach, but there's no way anyone is going to believe that after the fact, and even if true it was a silly way to go about proving it.

There was a breach back in October that Bernie's team believed had taken/viewed their data by another campaign...where was the gavel there? Bernie is not getting a fair shake. #EqualJustice

No, it's the definition of an outlandish assumption. You're letting your bias lead you to an assumption. Based off what we know, it was a Bernie staffer. The beauty of conspiracy theories is the lack of evidence to prove it is part of the conspiracy theory. Cherry pick the narrative you like, ignore everything else. Don't go down that road, man. You can be supportive of Sanders and not okay with a member of his staff fucking up royally.

I'm still not sure what the "shitty" thing the campaign supposedly did is. No data was exported, the campaign fired the person responsible like immediately, who then did an interview with CNN and extensively apologized and openly explained what he did and why, like is any of this a legitimate reason for the DNC to freeze Sanders's campaign?

So for voters that a user already had access to, that user was able to search by and view (but not export or save or act on) some attributes that came from another campaign.

This whole thing is blown out of proportions and reeks of shadiness. No surprise that the CEO of VAN was Hilary's CTO during her 2008 presidential run and is actively supporting her campaign.

But I am supportive of Sanders. He's my favorite out of the Dem candidates and for lots of sound reasons. That's why I'm upset; someone else's mistake is going to drag his campaign into the toilet, and for a campaign as monumental and important as this, it's impossible to believe these idiots got their hands into it without someone else on the other side either pushing them into the fold or knowing their flaws and letting them join the fold anyway, which is almost as bad. There's plenty of ways to sabotage a competitor, a good few of them very hands off. Even not doing something could be doing something if you get what I mean.

I know Bernie is not responsible for this, he didn't give orders from the top for them to do any of this and never planted the idea in their head or encouraged it. So I'm still supportive of him. But it's going to be incredibly difficult for him to stand a real chance in the general election now b/c you know the mainstream outlets are going to run wild w/ the story. It's no secret they support Hilary more than Bernie, and pushing this fiasco out there like it's Bernie's complete fault just helps them and their favorite.

So if anything I'm honestly irked off w/ them, and other outside influences, possibly meddling in the pot and throwing variables in the whole thing to lead to this whole ordeal. And since "they" (media outlets, particular politicians in the Democrat and Republican party, corporate sponsers etc) are in positions of great power, and knowing there are patterns of candidates and people for change being "taken care of" out of nowhere (JFK, MLK Jr, Malcolm X, Snowden tho technically he isn't dead), it's not far-fetched to say "they" may have conspired to make this Bernie situation happen. No Knights of the Round/S.E.E.L.E scheming at the table in the dark w/ masks and robes on shit, but conspire all the same.

It's just another blow to confidence in the voting process. People like Sanders are a "too good to be true" deal, and if they can't be stopped based on their own flaws, it comes down to the ineptitude and maliciousness of people close to them. How those people get close to them is the issue.

The thing that really baffles me about the conspiracy theorists is that I find it really hard to believe Clinton would be involved in something so obviously stupid. Why risk something which will do damage to the entire Democratic ticket to take out a guy who isn't beating you? Why split and ossify the base when you know you're already the most electable option and the GOP so far is only offering a field of circus performers as competition?

They didn't "save" the data using the internal save function. However, what they did do is create lists that duplicated the data in Clinton's lists. This doesn't look like "saving" to the database company, but for all practical purposes it is the same thing.

That's why it doesn't make sense. If she was this great puppet master, why did she not get the nomination in 2008. She held on as long as she could, but where was the "just according to keikaku" level planning then. You don't manufacture this gigantic conspiracy when you're winning, you do it when you're in danger of losing...which as of yet she hasn't been. The risk outweighs the rewards. The core idea of the theory doesn't make sense.

I understand that Sanders' is going for a grassroots campaign and has cultivated a very passionate fanbase...but come on...if you look at this story and your first instinct is to pull up a conspiracy, it's time to back away a bit. At best, it was a staffer who picked the worst possible way to get this issue fixed. At worst, some of his staff was overzealous and took advantage of a situation. It isn't worth circling down the conspiracy drain over. It just makes his supporters seem unreasonable.

Clinton isn't in control...this all has everything to do with the Data Vendor whom the CEO is Pro-Clinton and I believe even worked for Bill Clinton. The fact Bernie's team alerted this vendor to problems in the system in October where Bernie thought his data was being taken(Was it? Where is the honest investigation into that?) and the problem continued to persist for another 2 months just shows that the DNC and its contractors are incompetent...yet let's punish(and kill the campaign) the guy who is closest to our favorite daughter in the nomination.
