It's practically true though. I think Kira is happier to see Athrun in the show than whenever Lacus pops up. Same can also be said for Athrun. I know Athrun is pretty much a walking harem show in Seed Destiny and does love Cagali, but that's pretty much it...I don't think he sticks with Meyrin either. Kira is pretty much his best friend for life, they both know it. I can only imagine what those "KIRRAAAAAA.....ATTTHRRUUUNNNN!" screams during their mid show duel in Seed sounds like with Athrun sounding like a woman. Hell now that I think about it Athrun broke a lot of rules in Seed trying to keep everybody from killing Kira in the first couple of episodes. I may shit on Jesus Yamato, but I do like the friendship between them. When they reunite and go out to the final battle in Seed Destiny and Athrun's like, "Lets kick some ass" I almost tear up a bit. Them two are bros. Besides Kira and Lacus is such a boring, wooden and stilted relationship.

Just wanted to post and say hi.
I'm recently new to gunpla and have never watched any of the anime (just started the movie trilogy)
I'm an MG only guy at the moment, and would love to pick up some PGs in the future.
Have built Strike Freedom (wtf that gold sucks, will defo chrome then clear yellow or just go full gold) and the F91.
Decided to buy some more from a japanese store over the holidays.
MG V2 Gundam Ver.Ka (wings are expansion DLC grrr)
MG GAT-X105 Aile Strike Gundam Ver.RM
MG GAT-X103 Buster Gundam (similar build to Aile I guess? gah)
MG 1/100 Tallgeese EW OZ-00MS
MG Sword Impulse Gundam
Also bought a ton of Markers, Tamiya weather masters etc.
Hope to start spray painting when the weather is better, then probably move on to a Spray gun.

Thanks for reminding me, I need to pre-order Ironhide. Hope he is good, I have given up on 3rd party TFs so I'm sticking to Takara/Hasbro and the left over money goes towards Gundam.

Hey I know your pain. The "Wings of the Sky" effect parts for the RG Strike Freedom cost me more than the actual kit itself.
Totally worth it though.

If you think this is bad I've actually defended Katejina Loos as a character. I mean yeah she's an evil bitch, but I always found her to be a pretty good villain. I've even had two Katejina avatars...which actually drove EvilKatarn crazy.

Well this explains many things...Just don't give it to Harrison Ford to sign.
Ford keeps it no secret how much he hates the Star Wars brand.
I mean, the entire focus of the first half of SEED is on Athrun and Kira coming to terms with the plain simple fact that they don't want to be fighting each other and extending that idea to the conflict as a whole.

At least she wasn't the same mask wearing cliche that Rau and several other Gundam villains were. Highest body count too.
I know, I just hate how this was retreaded in Seed Destiny. My favorite moments of both shows are when they aren't fighting each other and are both rallied behind a common enemy.

Holy shit I just looked it up, that is pretty good looking for how simple these star wars kits are. Still expensive though haha. Super tempted and I don't even like Star Wars all that much. And the amazon reviews are not a complete mess either!?
I ordered two of those before Christmas. One for my sister and one for a friend. I'm not building it myself, but I've seen it first hand, and aside from the price (which honestly isn't expensive for the quality of the kit), you might want to consider a few other things. The parts are VERY white. Which means without paint it will look super detailed up close but severely lack highlights of any kind. It will also not look very Falcon-y. The kit was designed to be painted. The parts are super detailed though, and it also supports LEDs (sold separately).
Just don't give it to Harrison Ford to sign.
I still love Harrison's oversell of that fumble.

I got Project Nimbus since my steam queue showed it to me, and it's hilarious how one of the mechs is pretty much just the Sazabi and another is the Hi-Nu.

Yeah I saw that, some of the results looked great. Like I said though, not all that into star wars. Just wanted a tie fighter lol. Actually wanted the special forces one, but just saw that comes out at the end of January for some reason.

Does look pretty badass, though still have not beaten MGS5 lol. Maybe if I can do that in time.
But it happened again guys.... having a place with a wall of gunpla is going to be my waking nightmare I'm sure.
Saw this on amazon just looking around and decided if I saw it I would buy it. Sure enough they had one left. Seems like the store I go to is trying to clear invintory so they pushed a bunch of old kits to the front. Still no Throne Eins but they had a Zwei and 1 each of a handful of other older kits that were super tempting.
but yay finally bought a "Gundam" Gundam model lol.
actually I don't even remember this thing from Build Fighters Try. Was it in the show or one of those manga kits or something?
Either way, decided that I will 100% go for Infinite Justice MG next month. Just need it to sit on the shelf at little longer. The seed MGs are so tempting no matter how meh I was on the show.

Bandai's Star Wars kits are all pretty cool. They are a wee bit expensive, but you do get an unmistakably Bandai kit, so I consider it well worth it over, say, Revell's kits. The ships do all pretty much require at least a little bit of painting and weathering, but that's the nature of the beast outside the Gundam model realm. The Slave-1 is probably the ship you can get away with not painting if you truly wanted to avoid it, though.
For me, Zeta in general has benefitted from rewatching. Didn't care for it at all when I first watched it, but going back to it has made me enjoy it more and more.
Haven't really watched it dubbed, but what I've heard isn't terribly good. Most seemed to hate it with a passion.

not sure about that... but i think athrun's been the main hero in Seed throwing his machine to detonate the WMD, while Kira is distracted going emo w/ le creuset.
in seed destiny, athrtun b!tch slaps shinn and Destiny gundam while kira is going emo with ray za barrel again.

Seed is pretty decent, it serves as a nice retelling of the original series but at the same time has its own personality. Seed Destiny on the other hand? Oh boy. I can watch it just fine but god damn. Watch Seed Destiny after Zeta, you'll notice a few things I guarantee it.

What have you seen outside of Seed? I like Seed too, it's just not my favorite. Zeta and Victory are probably two of my favorites, but people tend to hate the shit out of Victory on here though.

Seed, Seed Destiny, first half of 00, 0079 and i'm about half way through Zeta. I've seen some other loose things here and there too. I've tried watching G-Reco but wasn't a fan. I've seen the first couple eps of Orphans too, but I can't stand Barbatos, so fucking ugly. I think I'll always have a soft spot for Seed.

Probably like how I'll always have a soft spot for Wing. One of my favorites as well, people come down on that too a bit, but I'll still love it till I die I'm going to assume. I hope you have a good memory of Seed Destiny cause a lot of Seed Destiny gets its story beats from Zeta.

I have a softspot for Wing too. It's not a great show, but it certainly has many 'so bad it's good' moments. Seeing Heero tear an invitation, wipe Relena's tear, and saying his catchphrase in the first episode is IMO one of the funniest anime moments ever.
HG 1/144 Gundam Barbatos arrived yesterday from CDJapan with HG customize parts from last summer. The yellow parts were painted with a gold gundam marker and for the chest/knee/shoulder symbols I used a silver gundam marker + red real touch marker for a purple metallic effect. I had my doubts about using gold for the yellow parts, but it looks quite good on him.
HG 1/144 00 Gundam received a small upgrade with a XN-Raiser kit I bought like 6 years ago.
I've recently also build the Bandai 1/12 Boba Fett kit with a minor modification. The hose that goes from his biceps to the gauntlet is made from inflexible plastic that is prone to breaking, so I replaced the hose with a much more flexible wire from broken electronics. It was also my first time using waterslide decals. I used one decal on his chest plate, and one on his helmet for the yellow stripes. I damaged a part of the decal on his helmet, but covered it up with a bit of silver paint.

Heero saying he's going to kill you pretty much guaranteed you a safe journey through that show. Wing has one of the best soundtracks.
It's funny, but it's a show that I've never done a rewatch on despite being one of the few Gundam series we managed to get the collections of whereas I tend to do a yearly rewatch of G Gundam (and am in fact in the middle of one though it's partially for a project). I always remember Relena standing at the edge of a cliff or something screaming for Heero to come back and kill her.
When is the best time to put on decals? My sisters got me the Wing Zero RG for Christmas and looking at the decals I was wondering whether it might be better to put them on each individual piece as I finish them or just leave it at the end when it's all together?
And is the RG line purely for Gundams from the main shows? Like could we ever see a Zaku or maybe even the Sazabi at some point?
Zaku II and Z'Gok are in the RG line in both Char and mass production colors.

This Heero is the best Gundam lead or at least the most unique.
We had potential to have a true killer as the lead, and the laugh when he killed the Aries pilots was bone chilling.
I will forever hate Wing for pissing away a character that truly could capture the darker side of what would happen if people messed with someone on a genetic level and trained them to kill for years.
