Why you gotta wear a disguise over your disguise, Batman?

I like this reaction

Imagine how epic the Justice League theme will be. Zimmer said the idea is to have a theme for all the JL members, then combine them to create the JL theme. We already know: Superman (horns), Batman (drums), WW (cello). Wonder what the other ones will be.

-Aquaman
-Flash
-Cyborg
-Green Lantern

Hahahaha

Oh and Doc got banned too. Man, if BvS ends up being a great movie, a part of me will miss the bickering

Of course, a bigger part of me would be happier if they went away altogether because BvS actually ends up delivering

You think the bickering will end if it's a great movie?

No, no, no. If it's a great movie, the bickering simply becomes more petty.

Just re-watched Man Of Steel myself. I gotta be the only dude on GAF that gets choked up during the Papa Kent
Death Scene
. It's such a ridiculous scene, but why does it get to me like that man. I should be able to shrug off the absurdity of it like every one else haha.

I'm fucking ready for some BvS already

nevermind, cause I'm better than guek anyways.

Anyways, there will be a ton of terrible BvS threads in the future soon next week.

If this soundtrack is any indication, Zimmer seriously underuses Clark's theme again.

There isn't one triumphant blast of it anywhere in here. just the sad plinky piano version of it. Sometimes augmented with strings, sometimes not.

Basically, it seems that the Man of Steel end credits version of that cue is a one-off.

Thats a shame. It's a really good track.

Manages to step out of the shadows of Williams and craft a damn good superman theme

If it was relatively unchanged I don't see why it would be on the soundtrack but I'm no expert. Was Zimmers' Batman theme on all the OST's for the Nolan movies? Were they identical?

He reused tdk theme in the third and yeah it was in the first but he built upon it and made it more epic

In batman v superman hes burying a perfectly good superman theme :(

That last scene of man of Steel worked so much better because of the music

There are examples of mostly unchanged previous themes on this soundtrack.

And yeah, there are quite a few recognizable versions of the Batman motif Zimmer used across all three soundtracks. You get recognizable versions of Clark's theme, but they're almost all sad, downtempo piano versions of it. There's never a version of it that does what it does in Flight, or the end titles.

You mean the Superman theme? Because the Clark theme is the one with the sad klinky piano :P

And tbf: it is in the movie, we just don't know for how long, you can certainly hear it in Is She with You, but then again that is basically the Trinity theme. Maybe this movie didn't allow him to use it as much and he thought it better this way?

It's the same motif. Same notes in the same order.

Also, interesting choice for when Batman & Superman do fight - the score takes a turn into Tron: Legacy-land. I like it.

Yeah, I remember saying the same thing about the End Credits music for Man of Steel, and then I watched the movie and it turned out that was basically the only point where a heroic version of that motif was used (that and Flight).

But it's definitely possible there's something more uplifting/heroic being done with that theme in the film proper.

edit: I really like Lex's theme.

True, but you said you wanted more of the Clark Kent, which is basically that sad piano without the horns. The Clark theme is very much in this OST, Day of the dead basically. Hence my comment, since the Superman theme actually has the horns and whatnot :P

Yeah hard to judge right now, wonder how it will play out in the movie. I do hope they keep that theme around in the next movies, fucking love it.

What is your favorite so far? Mine is Beautiful Lie or Day of the Dead, wonder if that will change after I see the movie.

No, it's the same theme, for the same guy. There's no delineation between Kent/Superman based on instrumentation. Hell, the first time we hear it, he's Kal-El.

I think I like Fight Night, actually. That and Red Capes.

Beautiful Lie and Day of the Dead are the tracks that stood out to me most. Overall I really like the score. Can't wait to see how its incorporated into the movie.

I noticed that Day of the Dead incorporated a motif from TDK's ferry endgame, and Must There Be a Superman has some of that Mad Max chase theme in it.

"This is My World" is by far the best track on the OST

"Is She with you" is amazing.

Black & Blue is up there for me, too.

edit: well, this is a decent sign. None of us have actually picked the same track for our favorites.

I adore 'They Were Hunters' and 'Must there be a Superman'

yeah a lot of good ones. beautiful lie is prolly the best for me though.

Nice, listening through them now. "There War is Here" has been on my workout playlist

Do You Bleed, Beautiful Lie, and Day of the Dead have been my favorite tracks so far.

Red Capes are coming and This is my Wolrd are my favorites. Is she with you is also pretty dope.

yoooooooooooo
Hans brought the Arcade theme back! Ahhhh

Fight Night is epic.

Are you all just fucking with us? These are almost all different tracks.

I think 11 minutes of footage should give us a good indication of what this movie is aiming for tonally.

Not really. I mean that's fan edited so it's just a bunch of random shit spliced together without direction other than, "I think this is where this goes". It's cool if you're just not interested in what you have seen though.

Heh I'm being serious. It just looks so oppressively dark. Where is the fun, the heroism, the excitement?

Yes. Fun can only be had fighting among rainbows and leprechaun gold.

In a disney movie, and thank fuck for some of us

It doesn't even look interesting dark. At least Nolan had themes with some substance. This looks like an angsty power fantasy turned up to 11. Even the aesthetic isn't interesting. It's all darkness, rain, shadows, muted colors in daylight.

It's a comic book movie that borrows heavily from The Dark Knight Returns and 90s Superman. The colors are actually pretty comics-accurate IMO
