Early impressions start rolling out for Batman v. Superman

Those all fall under that umbrella term

I'd argue his visual style isn't inherently tied to the other two though

Better than MoS, still only okay. Way, way too much going on. Strong forward momentum, but its just plot point, plot point, plot point, hint about JL, plot point.

Felt like the music, while largely good, was used too often and was so bombastic it drowned out the rest of the sound design.

There was scattered applause when it ended, but nothing extraordinary. Not much reaction besides that.

So I guess it's much better than MOS but it still carries some issues.

I'm fine with that especially if it's better than MOS. Fuck, I have to wait till Friday.

What movie doesn't carry issues? I'm thrilled it appears to be mostly dialogue driven.

Its not hard to be better than Mos.... Man I am still unsure if this is worth my money. Will have to wait for more impression and detailed reviews.

This review sounds like wbs age of ultron to me. Though I'm bound to like it more if they have a good batman and if eisenberg is as good as some people say he is. A good villain helps.

I worried this would happen since they have to set so many things up with this. I bet suicide squad ends up being magnitudes better due to being more free from that burden (and also looking so different from everything else)

Oh, and the reps (and Zack Snyder in a prerecorded message before the screening) implored people to not spoil the movie before release.

There's a reason for that.

It is VERY easy to spoil

Onto boring details: anything noteworthy found during the credits? Like how many stuntmen were used for Supes, Batman, or WW?

Cross posting my thoughts from a separate thread:
Okay! So to elaborate more, the first half of the film, maybe first third, is just disjointed. It's very easy to tell that cuts were made to trim down the time, and while it never feels like anything important was left out, what it is missing are scenes that just so slightly stitch the the film together, something as simple as Clark just flying somewhere instead of appearing there. Thankfully, the second half of the film, aside from a small section that appears to be rushed or cut up to reach a specific place, flows really well and naturally. It never slows down in the second half, and it's kicked off with a bang. As someone who read spoilers and plenty of impressions and such, they can't prepare you for some scenes and their impact.

As for the characters I've been an avid optimistic of Eisenbergs Lex Luthor, and after seeing the movie I don't think they quite knew what they wanted to do with the character. One moment he's very Zuckerberg, and the next he's psychotic, then after that he becomes compelling even though they don't spend much time on his motivations. He has less presence than you'd think (at least for me) and a small quirk I appreciated is him talking about his fathers past life.

Batman in this movie is very, very traumatized. I recently watched Dark Knight Returns this weekend, and the trauma between the two versions of the characters is about on par. He's cruel, unrelenting, and probably has the biggest character arc in the movie. They really nailed certain aspects of Bruce, such as the billionaire playboy.

For the few scenes Gal had, she really nailed Wonder Woman. While her time was brief, you really got to know the type of person she is, and that's someone who really doesn't want to deal with the world of man anymore. Won't say much more on her.

Superman in this movie struggles with finding his place in the world. Circumstances of the movie pull him from one side of views to another, until ultimately he is lost. This isn't your boyscout superman yet, but he is getting there. The movie and his arc was about finding his place in our world and the world finding a place for superman. Cavil did a fine job again, but was out shadowed by other performances who had more to do.

There's some little Easter eggs that you may not miss too. I believe I heard one for Mask of Phantasm, a joke by Perry which references the year Superman first appeared in comics, and I think I heard one for Shazam too. Keep your ears peaked.

The nightmare sequence was also extremely out of place and it definitely should have been cut or reworked into something else.

As for the rest of the cameos; some say they are out of place, but the film doesn't focus too much on them. One actually caught me off guard with how it's portrayed.

That's all for tonight though. If I had to give it any sort of rating or predict one, I'd throw it somewhere between 79-87% depending entirely on how certain people feel about certain things.

The impressions being so vague is worthless to me. I'm just going to watch the movie and read reviews.

All the negative shit is killing my buzz because that's the shit I tend to like.

My impressions. Won't write a ton. Few spoiler tags at the end. BronsonLee did the leg work, I can co-sign his thoughts.

My biggest complaint is the pacing, particularly in the first act. It jumps from scene to scene and it doesn't flow together. Extended cut can help tremendously in having some breathing room between these scenes. Talking some hard cuts from action, to not only a different scene, with different characters, but a different tone. Some of it is introductory legwork for Bruce, Lex, and the core of the story. It comes together in the second act and it's really enjoyable. Third act is, like BronsonLee said. It's what you've come to expect from comic book films. I'll say on a spectacle level it's something impressive. I tend to get bored in those scenes; I did with the Zod fight in MoS, Winter Soldier's helicarriers. I enjoyed it, in how I enjoyed the Avengers 1 climax.

Assorted thoughts. Perry White rules. Alfred rules. Screw the rest, give me a film of those two. Spoiler-spoiler
It's weird to me how the film never addresses Batman's brutal hardcore vigilantism; that plot point just vanishes.

Don't have a ton to say, really. I quite liked it. Didn't especially like Man of Steel. Film will be divisive, for sure.

OH and Eisenberg was my 2nd favorite actor in the movie besides Affleck. I thought he did really well.

See what I mean about divisive? He's, hmm, he's...I like him and I'm disappointed with him at the same time.

So... sounds like people generally like it to varying degrees. I have yet to see any overtly negative reactions to any element beyond Bronson's low opinion of the first third. Glad the big question marks hanging above this franchise (Lex and WW) aren't any real concern from what people are saying.

So people who have seen the movie, was Gal Gadot's portrayal of Wonder Women good but could of been done better from a different actress or was her portrayal of Wonder Women outstanding? From the few impressions it seems like she was outstanding.

I mean I'm a bit iffy on her being Wonder Women.

These are the sites I use:
www.advancescreenings.com (get email notifications)
www.gofobo.com
www.cinemit.com

Studios seem to be setting up their own sites nowadays as well. WB has one that they use. Disney uses a separate one.

All you really need to do is get email notifications of when they pop up, and you're usually good. Just be patient in line!

KOP gets a lot of releases, as does AMC Neshaminy. If it's a smaller movie, you're looking at Ritz Five or Ritz East.

Kentucky sucks, I need to move.

What a shitbag...

If it's any better someone spoiled the ending for me too.

Oh the misery, but oh well what counts is the journey.

You should ruin his face intentionally.

I would seriously contemplate slashing tires for assholes like that.

Yup, he ruined the Daredevil S2 finale for me too.

Dude thinks it's some kind of funny trolling, but it just makes him seem like a fucking loser.

He got lucky and got the chance to attend an early screening, I'm guessing through Gofobo or some shit. I can gladly say that I'll probably see Civil War before him. I won't spoil it for him because I'm not that petty, but it really does suck. Not sure why he does this shit to everyone...

Wow, so I just wake up to this lovely news.

Another polarizing Snyder film? You don't say!
I'm not convinced it will be highly polarizing. Maybe a 80/20 like to dislike ratio. A large majority of the reaction has been positive.
