I find it hilarious that feeling bad about killing someone has to be established. That's a pretty standard human reaction.
We need at least two scenes of Clark talking to Martha about no-killing for the first taking of a life to have any impact

I still can't put a finger on it to this day, but I remember walking out of TDK thinking it was good but not life changing like some thought. I like almost everything in that movie, but for some reason I don't like it better than Batman Begins. Over the years, it's grown on me, but I really think the ferry scene grinds that movie to a halt in the worst way possible.
Different people, different opinions. What's so hard to believe?
Ferry scene is a bit of a bore but I'll take that batman/gordon/two face finale any day over the final acts we've been having in any superhero movie since.
Well of course, and I knew some people liked it (which is absolutely fine btw, I thought it was shit mind), but I've just read a post saying it's one of the most important films of the decade....

Ha, I was there with my sister. Was just gonna get a drink in Leicester Square and we saw this was happening so we went into the crowd pen and I got a few snaps of Henry Cavill and left.Superman is such a jobber.![]()
I love how in TDKR at the end when Alfred see's Bruce, he's with Selina literally because she's the only other female character left
That scene is completely devoid of feeling.
Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoawhoawhoawhoawhoa whoaaaaaaaa WHOA.
Hold up.
For everyone who doesn't like MoS.
You should check out super girl. The show captures that superfeel perfectly.

In the previous episode she helpes young kid who was being bullied. And that's how the show just opens.
Man of Steel superman would have beat up the kid and joined the bullies. Then went to his parents house and shat on his mother's front porch.
Is it some sort of unwritten law here that any MoS-related thread here inevitably shits on the Donner films?
Donner's Superman is shit. Sorry.
Whaa? The flying in MOS was awesome. Felt like there was power behind it.

I would have rathered they do similar shots but us looking at it from the reverse point of view - looks like they did it from that angle (not showing the face) to hide the fact that its cgi. And when they do show it from that perspective we are treated to an extreme close up of goofy Kent face
Since we're all on that devil's dandruff in this thread.
I think I should come forward and just say it.
Eli Roth has made two of the best movies in the past year.
Knock Knock and Green Inferno are some fantastic film making.
I feel as though Knock Knock will be appreciated more. Makes sense though, it is the better movie.
How man How??????????

Thats just one scene,
Has anything Marvel made you care as much as this one scene? ( I like cinematic Marvel by the way, just not a lot of their stuff)
He is right, those movies don't hold up at all. Nostalgia is one hell of a thing.
Donner's Superman is shit. Sorry.
This movie was like the opposite of The Force Awakens for me. With TFA, the more I thought about it and analyzed it, the stronger I felt it was, and trying to poke holes in the story required logical leaps that I wasn't willing to take.
It's been less than 24 hours since I've seen BvS and I'm already questioning the entire plot and thinking how little it makes sense. And I'm not sure that the spectacle of it really makes up for those faults.
I don't think I'd go out of my way to watch it again.
I would not go as far as saying is shit but is pretty much unwatchable for me now, the cornyness reaches a level that my eyes cant roll back enough and starts to give me a headache.
They are a product of that time.
Joke post? You found no flaws on TFA? Incredible mental gymnastics here. This movie was like the opposite of The Force Awakens for me. Yeah you would never ever get swag/crust punk joker if he was a marvel character. It would just be clown prince of crime with every iteration
It's a double edged sword because rather than coming out with an overall average and safe standard their films also have the potential to freaking be awful too.
Suicide Squad looks like it will pay off tho. It looks incredibly refreshing in this mostly stale genre

Maybe I can explain it better. And this is coming from a huge Superman fan. The main reason a lot of people hated the movie was because there wasn't scenes like this:
This is what Superman is about when it comes down to it. And not having these scenes is doing a disservice to the character.
I tried to watch them and the Burton films about 10 years ago and I thought they were all terrible. I totally understand how they would have been amazing experiences when they were released, but too much time has passed, at least for me.

you know who's corny

Not Zack Snyders Superman
Also, the infamous "can you read my mind" scene might be worse than anything in MoS.
