It wasn't a good movie. People don't like it. Hell the only reason why it made so much money this weekend is that it's a crossover and that naturally sparks people's interests. That's the reason why I went out and saw it.

Yeah I don't understand this stance. If something is of poor quality why should we root for its success just because certain people are involved? If someone is on board to work on a movie as big as Batman vs Supes I'm sure their careers will survive.
Can we stop with this nonsense?

There was nothing wrong with the film. You didnt like it and maybe those in your social circle didnt like it. But that means nothing as there are plenty of people who did. I swear people on gaf (and other sites) thinks that their small internet echo chambers counts for "everyone".
The negative buzz for BvS goes waaaaay beyond just GAF and other sites.
Lol. Oh, there was PLENTY wrong with the film. But people can like a film in spite of its flaws and problems.
I mean, I can enjoy Mortal Kombat and Transformers while also acknowledging that huge chunks of those movies are objectively trashy, stupid, and really poorly done. But just because those parts suck and critics (and many fans) hate it doesn't mean I don't enjoy it in spite of its apparent flaws.

I am totally with you on that, I enjoyed the movie despite flaws. I love neogaf and spend way to much time on this site but at times people here can be so cynical. A lot of gaf that didn't even see the movie were complaining on how bad it was.

Worked out so well for Transformers. Fanboys are so fun. All that matters is money.
Can we please stop doing this? A lot of people who did see the film were complaining. A lot of them. Myself included.
A lot of people who didn't see the film were also saying it couldn't be that bad and giving it high scores on Rotten Tomatoes before the film even came out.
So what was ojectively wrong with the film that everyone can agree upon that was bad?

So nobody should give a shit then, not even critics? I went to see the film with people who barely know anything about films or superheroes, and even they flat out said "a lot of parts didn't make sense", which is almost always a problem of editing, even if most moviegoers don't know how to put it in cinematography words.
Is this the new "Nobody can see the difference between 30 and 60 fps"?

Is there one thing objectively good about the movie that everybody enjoyed? I nominate the soundtrack.
There is nothing "everyone" will ever agree on. Even the Star Wars prequels have folks that defend it and even some people who legitimately love Jar-Jar Binks.
But SUBJECTIVELY, my OPINION, is that I had problems with the film's pacing and editing, such as a shocking lack of establishing shots, often bizarre and convoluted character behavior (such as Lois's actions near the end and Lex Luthor's actual goals), a mischaracterization of some of my favorite heroes (I was not particularly fond of Superman's portrayal or Batman's use of lethal force), the Justice League plugs I found to be inelegantly smashed into the film in the most blunt way possible (literally just watching someone else watch teaser trailers), the rather insufferable performance of Jesse Eisenberg (who seemed like the only one having a good time, even if he was grating beyond compare in the role), the utter debacle of CGI overload in the ending (especially harsh after I had just finished watching Daredevil on Netflix with so many practical fights with actual people with weight and physics), a generally joyless and dour tone throughout the entire film, and a bloated runtime with a weak script that left key players with little to do or work with, more concerned with setting the groundwork for movies to come instead of telling a cohesive single-entry installment.
There was far more I could criticize, but those were the things that I noticed, and I'm fairly certain are echoed elsewhere, by professional and casual critics alike, though I have not actually checked out. I just compared it to my college Filmography book and found the parts I felt didn't live up to the movie-making 101 rules, outside of select character bias (whether Batman kills or not is preference; if the film is good, it wouldn't matter if he commits "manslaughter" or not so long as the rest of the film is structurally sound).

I believe with or without box office success WB can't be thrilled with the critical reception. We'll see how they react within the next two weeks.

To quote Philip Seymour Hoffman, "The film is made in the editing room." You won't notice if it's done well, but you will if it's not. I haven't seen the film myself, but going by word of mouth, the film has some major issues with its editing, such as the alleged lack of establishing shots.
Probably more ojectively good then bad.

I honestly think that depends on how technical a breakdown a person is willing to give. As I said there are things that work about the movie and what works works fine. Meanwhile there are just things that don't and just mess up the movie. I'm still trying to make heads or tails of Alexander Luthor. At times I enjoyed the levity he added to certain scenes, but then you have how crazy he is. I enjoyed his numerous mannerisms and ticks in certain scenes and found them irritating in others. Towards the end with his "The bells are ringing" monologue the dude right next to me bust out laughing. I can just picture Clancy Brown Lex Luthor asking this Lex Luthor, "The fuck is your problem son?"

I rated this thing a 60% if you scroll up this page a bit. I've seen some shit, I've seen some bad shit. I've watched Lifeforce...Lifeforce, google that, it's horrible. I've seen countless cheesy Godzilla movies (but they're at least fun), Rodan, I've watched GI Joe, which was fun a bit, every Transformers movie, Reptilicus, Plan 9 from Outer Space, Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus, I've honestly lost track of the bad I've seen since I watch bad scifi as a hobby. I usually don't even dogpile on a Zack Snyder movie since I actually like 300 and Watchmen, but BvsS just hurt me too much I guess.
Of course they do. Editing is where a movie is made, editing affects everything in the film. Even if a moviegoer can't say that the editing was the problem, bad editing will have a massive impact on their enjoyment.

Whose livelihoods do you believe are tied to the success of these films? You think the grips and gaffers and cinematographer and editors will not get work if this movie tanked? You think the writers and director will have to move to hovels in Detroit?
That shit doesn't even begin to touch Bruno Mattei, Chester Turner, or some of the shot on video shit I've seen. Do you even own a vcr? I swear people have been so cinematically sheltered since the death of video and the rental store that they have such a skewed sense of good and bad. Only about half of the films released on VHS have been released on DVD, and only a fraction of those have been released through streaming.
