Dark Souls III |OT| Thy path has been tested, now fight unkindled ash

Yeah with Souls games I have learned to kill every enemy in the game at least once the first time. They usually drop something. I never run past anything first time I see it.

I could probably run past them but nah... I have to see what everything is capable of and what they can drop.

Always do that, too.

Which is also another reason why my level ended up being so high. I dont farm, I just kill everybody, which gives me a lot of souls. And although I die plenty, I rarely lose my souls. Having high Vigor/high stamina/lots of upgraded Estus helps me live longer.

Just a lot of major and minor things lot that went into me getting a sub-16 hour playthrough.

Am I really the only one bothered that (Yoel questline small spoiler)
your character doesn't cast shadow when hollow
? It's driving me nuts.

Did Anri make anyone else think of this meme?

Also, I have a code for the Prima eGuide if anyone wants it; just quote me here.

Admittingly, I did look up how to find the secret areas, cuz there was noooo way I was finding them otherwise.

Don't know if I have missed any areas so far but I've found both
Untended Graves and Archdragon Peak
without looking anything up other than reading notes that players left. Wouldn't say it was hard.

I just killed A
byss
W
atchers
and my Estus is 8/+2. Just curious if I've missed a shard somewhere. Don't have PS+ so I can't see messages and haven't found a single illusory wall. (Also fought C
rystal Sage
but didn't go farther.

Sameless self quote :O
Anyone know this?

Well, the story of L
orian
, E
lder
P
rince
is ruined now. Now I can't unsee them as the Bran & Hodor boss. Thanks YouTube guy.

I can't understand how they shat the bed so thoroughly with the diet bellbro covenant. The towers were purposefully small to make everything fast. You didn't have to waste your time running around in a huge ass area looking for the host.

:lol every time I want to do some jolly cooperation, the host has not explored the area and instead I been guiding every host to the shortcut to the boss :|

So I just killed A
ldrich
and got dropped in a room with the D
ancer of Boreal Valley
. Got promptly killed, and have no idea how to get back there?

Help?

These areas are a million times more fun than Bell Bros. The towers were terrible.

Haha I basically played all the way from the beginning through the Cathedral of the Deep without using any Embers. Kill a boss and then port back to the bonfire at the Roads of Sacrifice and someone is instantly waiting to kill me.

So is anyone else getting a lot of stuttering and framerate issues in *late game area*L
othric Castle?
The game has been running relatively smoothly up until now. :(

do you remember the church where the lady gave you the banner back at lothric, the closest bonfire is vordt

Why....just why is this game so linear? This could've been the best souls game ever but due to the level design it will never top Dark Souls 1 (imo). Everything else is fucking amazing.

I actually think this is the best level design in the series. I keep finding all these winding paths through enormous areas that eventually all meet up or lead to huge item grab areas.

I keep thinking that open world linearty is the best

Sorry if this question was already asked, but is the Collector's Guide worth the pick up? I loved DS/DS2/BB Hardcover guides. The attention to detail was superb. I also saw on here that a different team did the DS3 guide (which caused me to cancel my preorder and wait for thoughts). For context I primarily get these for the lore and art, not for the actual 'guide' part.

For lore and art, no. For specific treasure locations or NPC chains of events, not really.
For maps, sure.
I like it well enough, got it reasonably cheap on Amazon and it looks nice with the other two on the shelf, but it's no Future Press guide.

Because every area is fucking huge.

I'm backtracking and looking for alternate paths all the time on every area, so I never feel like there's not enough exploration.

I believe it was the best possible approach for this game.

Also, you can still do some areas out of order or even miss them completely (or so I've heard.)

I thought the same about the level design until I got to
the swamp
and now I'd say it's been very ho-hum and outright bad for the most part. Mostly predictable, annoying, and not really challenging... a waste of time more than anything. I only just left that place so many it picks back up again, though.

The previous areas were fantastic however. A good mix of difficult, mysterious, and outright clever design.

Anyone have a favorite weapon so far?

It's all about thrusting weapons like the rapier. I feel incomplete without one now.

And I was all prepared to follow in the footsteps of my DS2 character and embrace katanas.
