Tomorrow is going to be terrible. Almost every big gaming Youtuber will be uploading playthroughs of Uncharted 4 making the wait even harder. Maybe I should sleep all day tomorrow.

Thank god I've still got this one fairly easy, but annoyingly time-consuming Android programming assignment to do by next Sunday

Thank

fucking

god

e: so not gonna get any work done on it tomorrow

Pfft, OpenCritic is small fry. Everybody here knows that the real news is about whether that Metacritc score gets pushed up to 95 or not.

i'm just kidding, please don't take me seriously
I believe it will teach that with 2-3 tens added... and if Edge is a ten too then it will hold 95 even with 88 IGN.

But I don't believe in Edge 10 so it will end 84 that is pretty great.

You're UK (going by your profile), right? And you posted about a price in dollars. Are you looking in your US account library? If Uncharted 4 is not in your library, but the store says pre-ordered (did you try the web store?), then you probably have to get in contact with support. I'm not sure how they look on foreign purchases, so be careful.

Yes uk based with a US account. Hmm

Edit: the game shows up in the web store download list so I'm trying to download it via there

Is there a brief description of the differences between open critic and metacritic?
OC has the same weight for all publication but support only native-English reviews.

MC has different weight for each publication like IGN and Edge being the top and support international non-native English reviews.

To be fair in the actual state I prefer MC and the weight system didn't change the overall meta all... the final score is close for OC and MC with 1 or 2 points difference.

To be fair, Amazon has been a total shit show for me here in NC for the past 4-5 games I've ordered. Completely unreliable to the point that I canceled my Prime membership.
I've had no problems recently here in Louisiana.

Hehe Amazon and UPS show that my copy is arriving tomorrow. For some reason I've gotten a few games the day before launch due to Amazon shipping it early.
They never ship early for me. :(

wow, from that thread in 2007, talking about the possible locations of a hypothetical sequel:

This is the third board I'm answering this but:

...

Alternatively, Drake could set out searching for treasure from the mysterious Kingdom of Prestor John in Ethiopia and stumbles across a clue that paints it as the fabled Shangri La which lies hidden in a tropical valley near the Himalayas, and of the treasures enshrined there, including the mythical Fountain of Living Waters aka. The Fountain of Life. Guarded by immortal warriors and pursued by agents of the Russian Federalnaya Sluzhba Bezopasnosti (FSD a real-life controversial intelligence agency), Drake face his hardest mission yet and others around him get hurt."

Lot's of remote places have architecture that could be used as an influence in design like Takstan monastery which is built into the cliffs:

Guys, watch out while browsing YouTube, I saw some spoilers going around in the video recommendations. (I'm talking about spoilers from the final boss fight etc.)

Maybe this has been talked about before, but I just wanted to give some of you guys a little warning.

Is preload up in the UK yet?

Can't wait.

Be warned my friends, there are minor spoilers in a completely unrelated thread on here. Be vigilant.

The proper youtube interface for avoiding spoilers.

Just my luck.

16/48GB downloaded and my internet dies on me.

And I was so engrossed playing Diablo 2 on my PC that I didn't notice when it went down. I'm guessing 2 hours ago.

Have to wait for my cable company to send someone because there are no connection issues in my area.

Fortunately, there's a chance they can make it today since they work until 8PM.

We'll see.

Starting Uncharted 3 (remastered) for the first time. What difficulty is recommended?

I think that old Uncharteds are more fun on normal, hard is encouraging camping and playing slow and this is anti-Uncharted imo.

(TLOU on the other hand is a must in hard, almost a different game even)

I found myself moving alot more when playing on hard/crushing. Camping was never really an option with enemies tossing grenades and flanking constantly.

Yes, you are just moving to the next cover, the play style is regressive and defensive, on normal you play more freely and "uncharted style" from my experience.

Eh, I disagree. I've found hard/crushing to have a perfect mix of offense and defense. I felt like I was able to play quite aggressively without having to hide constantly. It would only take me 2-3 days to beat each game on crushing and the only one I felt I was having to constantly play defensively was the first.

In my opinion, Uncharted isn't about moving around the battlefield with ease, its being able to narrowly escape death by thinking on your feet and improvising.

That's just my opinion though. There really isn't a right or wrong way to play the Uncharted games.

Got my shipping confirmation from Best Buy this morning. Thank you, GCU.

Hype levels have subsided a bit, thankfully. I'm gonna make it until Tuesday. Still enjoying reading impressions from everyone here, I appreciate everyone taking the time to share your thoughts. See you guys in multiplayer!

Big news!.......I've decided.....after careful consideration.....to do my first playthrough.....on hard.....Also, UTB!

If you're competent at these games, definitely Hard. I can't stress this enough. Normal is way too easy, with low stakes, as anything you try to do will easily work. Hard in 3 is perfect: if you camp, you'll get killed. You have to keep moving from cover to cover.

I hadn't played the series in years and started off the remasters with 3 on Hard. There were a couple problem areas -- like the ballroom shootout in the ship -- but all in all I didn't get stuck anywhere and never got frustrated at all. Normal would've been just boring.
