From what I saw from the beta, it seems completely random. No idea of that is what the system will be going forward, as I don't know what kind of feedback they got/considered because of it.
I would assume it will stay random as hell to encourage people to pay for loot boxes.

Oh there will be. It's encouraged too since you get a bonus 20% exp from matches when you play in a group of friends.

Just got back.
Basically all the shorts + origin stories + trailers + about a 30 minute panel about how the shorts were created.
swag - got a cheap tracer or widow cup and some noisemakers.
It would have been better if between each segment we didn't get the "Blizzard" logo then "Overwatch" logo.
Like seriously, it was always this awkward silence with each overwatch logo.
They could have easily edited that out and let it flow more continuously/naturally.
other than that it was cool, but felt like we could have been given more swag.
One thing for sure tho...Overwatch needs to be and deserves to be on the big Screen. They need to make a movie franchise out of this.

I actually did this exact thing once. I was Bastion and the rest of my team was Reinhardt. Junkrat killed all of us with his ultimate.
Junkrat would throw all the Reinhardts off with a single concussion mine.

Junkrat's tire can just go right through the shields to the center. There isn't really any defense against that unless all of the Reinhardts make a 180 at the exact right moment, which is certainly not happening on console.

When Overwatch was announced, I remember whipping up a quick ghetto spreadsheet that broke the various (known at the time) attributes of the heroes down and provided a point-based, approximate system by which folks on the subreddit could conceptualize their own speculative heroes.
