That's not the part that I'm worried about. I don't really care about how awesome you make your life look. Outside of a dating profile, that has no consequences to anyone besides them.

It's when you realize that you can have an alter ego on the internet and you end up becoming a dick because of it that bothers me.

The issue comes when you want both things, though...being an anonymous dick on the internet while at the same time making it look like your life is more interesting. The more you do of the latter, the more attention you'll attract, and the more you have to watch what you say. If you keep being a dick on the internet while all eyes are on you, it's gonna blow up in your face pretty quickly.

Yep. Skateboarding was an entire subculture, and so it required more devotion to the sport in order to be "cool". Bladin was more like something you'd do on the weekends for exercise, but you had to bust out that killer neon windbreaker too.
