Next Destiny Expansion Reveal Today, $30, PS4/XB1 only, Sep. 20th

If it isn't free, it will be interesting to see what price they put on it. If it's smaller than TTK is it going to cost less? I think we are going to be looking at a £30 retail price.

Rise of Iron you say? Does that mean Cabal focused? That would be sweet.

I love the Hive but there's been too much of them.

No probably Iron Lords.

Doesn't say anything about an expansion. For all you know it could be just another shitty free event or a new level we have to go through backwards to get another weapon they held back from the previous expansion.
I think I'm over recycled material now.

It is the expansion which has leaked.

Is there any solid confirmation that that image is absolutely about an expansion?
It looks like another type of Iron Banner event.
I'm not trying to be contradictory, I genuinely want to know that that's what that is.

Hopefully this is a pretty legit expansion. I haven't played Destiny at all in 2016 I don't think. I enjoyed The Taken King so here's hoping its along that quality.

But "they" didn't really say anything in that article. That's not an official announcement from Bungie.

Literally everything Jason has ever said about Destiny has come true. It's pretty much as good as confirmation as you can get without it coming from Bungie themselves.

It would help if you had read the Kotaku article. It details a raid.

If that's true I'm probably out for good. Taken King was not a good value at all.

Wat, it had more story missions, a good story, changed the face of most of the game, a decent raid, a few strikes and new races and new abilities for the guardians.

Also the dreadnaught was huge and had allot of secrets.

We should be so lucky.

Nothing official in the Kotaku article, so no confirmation.

I trust Jason though. I'm sure he's right. But for now Bungie hasn't said anything about an expansion.

I enjoy Destiny threads so much!

For whatever reason, the drive by shit-posting is always out in full force. It does crack me up.

Joke is almost 2 years old!

No denying that Jason has reliable sources, but I'm not at the point where I take the absence of one his sources describing this expansion as being of an equal size to TTK as confirmation that it isn't.

Gonna be looking forward to it. Really enjoyed my time with Taken King and the base game before it, though I only played a Warlock. Based space wizards

Pretty impressed at how few shitposts there have been. This time last year you would have struggled to find positive comments in this thread.

Destiny is weirdly good at the shitpost attraction. I think some people are just still butthurt it isn't Halo Again.

Free or no thanks

Bought taken king edition recently and dissapointed in lack of content

Only 4 planets, should be double that for 60$ game

Also story was over quick

i reached 320 before the april update and stopped and never looked back, i felt like i'm done from this game and i'll probably wait for Destiny 2, unless the expansion turns out as good or better than TTK

"Size" is such an amorphous thing in Destiny, though. What if they have more strikes than TTK but those strikes are just going backwards through old areas? What if they have 50 new quests but half of those quests involve collecting materials or shooting X number of enemies?

What I've heard is that they're aiming to make it feel as substantial as the first two DLCs combined, but I have no idea what that means, because when it comes to Destiny size could be anything. I don't even know if they're adding new areas. We'll see next week. All I know for sure is that there's a new Fallen-themed raid.

It is crazy how this is still a thing in Destiny threads. I like how on Fireteam chat they joke about people writing comments asking "people still play this game?" Bungie streams do incredible numbers and I think fireteam chat is the number one IGN podcast on iTunes.

Aw shit, the press sneak fuck is always lurking! Thanks for the info, Jason.

Ahh the feel of the 2 DLC's... I just hope Destiny 2 is making good progress, at this point.

Just please don't make me have to buy another retail version with Destiny + Taken King plus this new expansion. Other than that, excited to see what they have to come.

Did they reveal TTK before E3 last year? I can't remember.

I thought House of Wolves was a bigger jump than TTK. The last time Destiny was really exciting for me. The Taken King was fine, but it really felt like Vanilla a hell of a lot when it came to the light level grind. By the time the big update with the Taken PoE came out, I was burnt out, didn't even touch the story missions.

Still waiting for Destiny 2 to hopefully be Destiny at it's full potential, but unless something drastic happens with this next expansion (which I doubt because they are still using the current nightmare of an engine), I'm passing on this one.

Lol I came here to say this. I'm LOLing through this entire thread. There's truth on both sides but mostly this is pure entertainment.

Destiny is like my true love. I've gone out into the world and had fun with others but at the end of the day I just want Destiny to eat a large pizza and watch Simpsons re-runs with me until I fall asleep.

I am beyond excited for whatever information they drop.

Hey thanks Jason. I would guess that means at least a raid and ~three~ fresh strikes with a new storyline and major PVP addition thrown in?

This is cool, but after all of the past DLCs I am beyond done playing Destiny until a full blown sequel drops.
Yeah... Seems like they are trying to breath life into a long dead beast, at this point. Milk out those last few dollars before the sequel.

If it's the size of the first 2 DLC's I'd be happy. I haven't played Destiny much since October, but I'd love for some new content. I still love the game but I hate what Bungie keeps doing to it, especially PvP balance wise.

Safe assumption:

- a new raid (involving the Fallen)
- a new storyline, complete with fully fleshed out story similar to The Taken King's
- 3 to 6 new PVP maps, plus a new mode
- 1 to 3 new strikes, plus "old" strikes redone
- a bunch of new and unreleased gear

Basically more of the best parts of Destiny that will mean nothing to anyone who doesn't care about Destiny

Is there any solid confirmation that that image is absolutely about an expansion?

Its real. Its been confirmed by enough legit sources now.

Yup, the phantom RNG bullets of hand cannons, the 900 RPM auto rifle meta is unbalanced, and god they need some PVP servers spread around like COD.

Still the PVE is good, and PVP can be fun about 30 % of the time when you not shooting blanks against red bars.

Why are you even in this thread? You clearly have zero interest in Destiny if that's what you post.
I'm in this thread because it's relevant in my interest in not seeing this at Sony's conference. Also, I like Destiny's gameplay, and am looking forward to Destiny 2. I just don't care for paid expansions or them taking up 3-5 minutes on Sony's stage. Just like I don't care for the sports section in EA's conferences.

Handcannons in particular are why I left. A handcannon meta is infinitely more enjoyable than a pulse rifle/auto rifle meta. Also to make the next expansion good they need to separate PvP and PvE balancing, and add elemental primaries back in the game.
