Next Destiny Expansion Reveal Today, $30, PS4/XB1 only, Sep. 20th

I think I'm over recycled material now.

Yep. Give me a new planet, new environment, and you might get my interest. Throwing some new missions or strikes in the same old areas just isn't gonna be good enough. I really wish Destiny would show me something worth coming back for, the core gameplay was so fun, but at this point I've accepted it's just not gonna happen.

Funnily enough I dropped out of destiny about a week or two after Taken along came out after playing hundreds of hours before that. I've been itching mostly to play strikes and PVP (as enraging as it can be) again and have almost installed it a few times in the past week.

I'm in this thread because it's relevant in my interest in not seeing this at Sony's conference. Also, I like Destiny's gameplay, and am looking forward to Destiny 2. I just don't care for paid expansions or them taking up 3-5 minutes on Sony's stage. Just like I don't care for the sports section in EA's conferences.

This thread has nothing to do with Sony's conference, it's to do with Bungie announcing their new expansion on a live stream.

It has something to do with Destiny which usually shows up at Sony's conference hence it's related. Them doing the reveal days before sony's conference, could have implications as to how it shows up at Sony's conference.

Chill out dude, it's not like I wished or hoped for the game to die or stop being made.

It's just really fucking boring seeing constant shitposts about Destiny, or like your original post, contribute nothing to the thread or have anything to do with the topic at hand.

Destiny being shown at Sony's conference is a good thing anyway.

"Size" is such an amorphous thing in Destiny, though. What if they have more strikes than TTK but those strikes are just going backwards through old areas? What if they have 50 new quests but half of those quests involve collecting materials or shooting X number of enemies?

What I've heard is that they're aiming to make it feel as substantial as the first two DLCs combined, but I have no idea what that means, because when it comes to Destiny size could be anything. I don't even know if they're adding new areas. We'll see next week. All I know for sure is that there's a new Fallen-themed raid.
I'm ready for a fallen raid.

Destiny is like my true love. I've gone out into the world and had fun with others but at the end of the day I just want Destiny to eat a large pizza and watch Simpsons re-runs with me until I fall asleep.

I am beyond excited for whatever information they drop.

Me too. Luke is right about the Destiny audience, they'll throw money at the screen and won't give a fuck.

Then don't respond or just ignore the post. Simple. What's going to be a contributing post in a thread about an announcement/date for a stream?

Why do you get to express the opinion that Destiny at Sony's conference is a good thing, but I shouldn't get to express mine that I don't want it there or want it to be a shorter segment?

I'm so disappointed there's another expansion. I expected Destiny 2 this year or early next year.

I'd love to see them flex without the last gen ball and chain, but it's clear we have a long time before that happens (if we even get a clean break).

I bet this is going to be the usual stuff. They'll show a few new tidbits, say something like

Deej: "Can we show them the vault"?

Developer: "No no, can't do that yet"

Deej: "Oh ok, sorry I tried!"

Then it'll end saying there will be more info at E3.

this is the last, er, last gen content Destiny gets.

Next year :)

I won't shitpost, other than to say I thought I'd sworn off Destiny. Yet here I sit, eagerly awaiting the reveal. I'm actually excited after being essentially Destiny Dry for 6 months.

This is my burden.

It's strange to say that over time, my interest in Destiny has been tied pretty much to the pvp content at this point. Any new info would be great though, and I doubt they would do it, any kind of small teaser for Destiny 2 would be fantastic as well.

I know this content will probably be smaller than TTK, but I'm honestly on board. I've taken breaks for a month every now and then to come back to play a few raids and go into pvp. It's been a lot of fun to just move around and shoot stuff in this game. Playing with folks in the Destiny community thread have been pretty great as well. I don't think I would spend as much time with this game otherwise.

Would love to see something like this.

Hopefully this gets me to boot it back up. Loved the game since Alpha and even bought the taken king PS4, but I feel like I'm just ready for a sequel at this point. Haven't booted up Destiny since before the Division beta.

I picked up Destiny at launch and played through the first expansion on PS4 before I got bored and ultimately ended up trading it along with the system for a Wii U. (Thanks GAF BST!)

I just got an Xbox One (thanks GAF BST!) and have been thinking about picking up the Taken King everything edition. I've been kinda yearning to get back into it for awhile now, but with only a PC (why isn't it on Steam Bungie???) and a Wii U, obviously that hasn't been possible. Now it is! I do hope to be able to get another PS4 in the next few months, but I have the X1 now. Is the game like, vastly inferior on the bone? I know there are some graphical downgrades and that PS4 was getting content way ahead of X1. Is that still the case? Do the lesser graphics make for a less enjoyable experience? I'm assuming not, but since I'd be starting from scratch with a new character, this is a bit of an investment. If I'm better off waiting a couple months to start where I left off on PS4, I'd rather know now.

What ever happened to destiny 2 ? I always thought the reason for lack of content the last year is because the team where focussing on 2 . But now it's just an expansion pack ?

Was hoping for a full sequel with lots more new planets to explore.

Even taken kings new environment was a pretty small and boring ship.

Yeah, the Sony platforms still get armor, weapons, etc. before the Xbox, but it's pretty minor in the grand scheme of things.

I feel like with Rise of Iron so close, you're better of just waiting.

There IS a ton to do with The Taken King however (lots and lots of quests post Story Completion and a revamped Prison of Elders).

Io is most likely a Destiny 2 thing. I highly doubt we'll see a full new patrol zone just for a "expansion" size content update.

Destiny 2 was pushed back to next year (reportedly early next year).

So theyre finally recycling the year one content we all wanted 6 months ago, probably. Neat.

Probably more like that original planned and talked about day one content still lol.

I'm always interested in Destiny's development but won't be back until it's the next "full" title with hopefully much more content and (hopefully but prob not) higher framerate.

In for a new raid if it's priced lower than TTK. I'm not prepared to drop another £40 just for 1 raid. It just doesn't represent value for money at that price point.

Only way they get my interest back is new areas. Not interested in recycled environments anymore.

I got fantastic value out of Destiny. Well over 1000 hours. Bring on Destiny 2 and stop milking this one.

If it's anything like TTK I'll probably enjoy it, new Destiny content is always welcome IMO. I've been taking a bit of a break since the April update came out. I finished off a few outstanding quests and completed my exotic weapon and armour collection and even took a few screenshots with my old Year 1 armour.

This down time will be great, it'll gimme a chance to finish DOOM and play some more Witcher 3 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided before this new expansion drops and I can jump right back in.

Naw fall 2017 is what I'd expect.

Man, I hope they have a better December 16 to September 17 content schedule planned out if that's the case. If they don't, they might damage the brand a bit. I know my raid team hasn't touched the game since late October, despite positive impressions for the April Update from a friend and I, and most of them aren't interested in a new expansion this fall, they want Destiny 2.

I loved TTK....... Hoping this expansion is just as solid. Just please dear God remove the fusing system

Rumors I see are still early to mid 2017 for destiny 2

Im more of a PVE guy so waiting patiently for Destiny 2 instead. New raids/strikes on same planets just isn't very interesting.

Doesn't say anything about an expansion. For all you know it could be just another shitty free event or a new level we have to go through backwards to get another weapon they held back from the previous expansion.
I think I'm over recycled material now.

Yeah I'm tired of recylced content. That's basically all the April update was and I tried to come back when that went out but I just couldn't do it. I'd already played PoE plenty and adding a few tweaks doesn't make it any more exciting. Bungie are the kings of recycling content, but they really gotta stop.

my most played game ever. dropped it before the srping update and haven't touched it since. can't wait to get back in

I love Destiny, but everytime they announce something or even add something it feels like they're holding back, they never truly commit to an idea or flesh it out to the point where it lasts.

I hope they get it right with Destiny 2,
