Next Destiny Expansion Reveal Today, $30, PS4/XB1 only, Sep. 20th

Not really big on Destiny anymore since they continued to neuter the shit out of all the fun stuff to balance their pvp. Not even gonna buy Destiny 2 unless they separate that shit off entirely. Might check this out if it doesn't cost anything.

Interesting in a good or bad way?

He was the lead on Vault of Glass which is supposed to be the best part of the game thus far. Don't see how it could be a negative.

Nobody has even mentioned the possibility of the stream next week just being whatever new content the live team drops next (due soon?) and then the fall expansion is revealed at E3?

Vault of Glass design = Destiny 2 is more No Man's Sky (wonder, exploration, no limits etc.) and less grindy repetitive environments where your only hook is loot? I'll believe in Destiny 2 when I see the results.

I liked the Taken King, and all of Destiny, but unless they implement a better way of grouping up in game, I'm not that interested. I know it wasn't THAT hard to use outside sites, but I just got sick of it... never even got to do that Oryx raid. Also, while I liked it initially, I really hate that they locked away exotics behind daily heroic quests that required you to wait until they popped up again to try them. I get to play for a couple of hours a week, tops, and can't be tied down to shit like that.

I'm indifferent.

On one hand, Luke was responsible for VoG which was one of the best experiences in Destiny, period. He also played the game a lot and seemed to understand the game from a players perspective and even dropped by DGAF once in awhile.

But he was also at the helm for TTK which got rid of a lot of fun that was in the game in Y1. The RNG light system, decision to not carry elemental primaries forward, worthless and unfun nightfalls and disappointing King's Fall raid are just a few examples. We've also seen micro transactions creep deeper and deeper into each content release.

I'm a big Destiny fan and have been playing pretty much full-time since it's release. I'm sure I'll buy the expansion regardless, but I'm not setting expectations too high. Bungie made a lot of changes in this April update which are great. However, I don't know if that's the direction they're taking for all content moving forward or just a bone they threw since we had to wait so long for an update after TTK.

They always find a way to make Destiny fun again... at least until endgame lol

So Im totally in

Destiny is one of those great games to leave alone for awhile and then come back to it seems

Luke is highly critical of all entertainment. I would say he is a near perfectionist. His standards are very high. Microtransactions are not from Bungie. That is their publishing partner.

I think seeing Luke Smith as the game director proves that through this entire Destiny process his input has helped create a lot of the things we love about the game. His standards have helped mold the game into what it is today.

I can't imagine we will ever see Luke Smith get up in front of a crowd and suck up to the audience. At least I hope not.
It is not easy to have vision in life without giving in to pressures from others that want to mold your vision into something that suits them better. I think Luke has strong enough convictions to his vision of what this game can be that he is a good choice to be driving the bus.

I very much doubt the live team has had enough time to churn anything else out. All they've done are lame special events and the April update which was barely a content update.

Three areas.

The Plaguelands - new zone

Fellwinter Peak

The Wall

Sounds like the latter two are smaller, possibly levels like Phobos in TTK.

New strike, several others updated with new stuff.

They will update strikes. Nice. Better that just one new strike.

I'm so in.

I need them to level me up since I'm not maxed out but can't wait for this.

"New and Updated Strikes"

Oh God it might have actually been a Typo.

... Oh he corrected himself, "New strikes... New strike"....

>_>
