Islington is full of people with remain stickers, as expected. I postal voted two weeks ago, but it makes the day no less stressful.

Yup, as I say I don't get it. I'm guessing they think voting Leave will help us get another vote on independence but that's silly imo. If they really want another indy ref surely the best way would be for Scotland to overwhelmingly vote Remain and use that if Leave wins.

Yeah, the SNP line was if Scotland voted in and the rest of the UK voted out, then another referendum would be called for.

Doesn't really work if scotland has over 50% out lol

So I don't know very much about this whole situation, but when will results be known?

We'll know something at 10pm, but I guess people will have a feeling at about midnight. Proper results in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Alright guys.

I've decided to vote to remain with the EU. My uncertainty as to the future and as someone who's going to have to grow up and live with decision, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Off to vote then.

Phisheep, do you have any update on that neighbour with a disability who you feared was going to be forced to vote against her will?

Kidnapping plan got leaked unfortunately, via the grandmother, so it is down to battle of wills between her and her father. Have suggested she spoil paper if necessary. She's a nice kid and though mentally not all there (in the absolutely precise sense, she has only half a brain) she is not as dumb as her Dad thinks she is.

An hour later and everything has moved in favour of remain. As at 1020 the markets are the following:

FTSE100 - 6,323 (up 1.0%)
£ - USD 1.482
Betfair - 1.19 (84% remain)

If this continues, part of me feels bad about having grabbed vacation money a few weeks ago just in case, but the other part of it is pretty glad about what it will do for my hotelling expenses.

I think, although it's not an easy decision, this is probably the right one, at this time.

So, had this conversation with a Year 9 student this morning - I'm Scottish:

'Sir, do you get a vote in the Eu Referendum?'

'Yes, why wouldn't I?'

'Well, you're an immigrant sir.'

'No, I'm not, Scotland and England are part of the same country.'

'Really? Since when?'

'Acts of Union, 1707 - it's been a while.'

I feel we might have failed this student if he doesn't yet realise that Scotland and England are part of the same country...
Well... at least he's taking an interest :p

Are you allowed to take photos of the inside of polling stations?

Since there's a specific prohibition on taking a photo of a ballot paper in such a way that the number on it can be identified, then I imagine you must be able to take photos in polling stations. And of course there are always those pics of politicians voting for them selves.#

So yes, though I wouldn't recommend it just so as to not annoy people.

I'm pleased you've changed your mind and genuinely think it's the best decision for you as much as it is for me/the country.

I moved to that area two years ago and fully see where you are coming from. Nice and well rounded post. :)

I think I'm voting remain.

Hi five!

I used to live just off Commercial Road, not far from Cable St actually. Those bloody Ripper tours...

You telling me. We've got the Elephant man, and Jack the ripper; so we're pretty Rich as far as great characters from history goes. But for the life of me I don't understand why in the age of the Internet, people still take those Jack the Ripper tours is beyond me. There's a Jack the ripper museum on Cable Street now. And Jack the clipper barber shop near Shoreditch.

I feel like this post is the reason why the £ is currently having it's highest hourly rise in quite sometime.

Well, not really, but something has happened.

Glad people on the fence are still questioning even at the last minute.

Will be sad to see the buildings across the river from me empty out should we leave. Well off to work to hear about brexit all day.... As we will be covering that

Oh, and I voted Remain this morning.

People in ukpoligaf will know I'm the first to lament how pathetic and wasteful the EU can be, but at the end of the day we do a vast amount of business with the EU, and it's better to be within it and push for change then outside and dealing with how it is now with no method to change it.

Isn't democracy just fantastic. Being able to vote for things that change the country. Having a say in what happens here.

Huzzah.

If we remain I want us to go whole hog. Embrace Europe. Embrace the EURO

Really take part.
Based on your previous posts I assume this is facetious... but honestly I wouldn't mind this, bring on the United States of Europe ;)

This will be my first time voting, it's very exciting :D

That's great. :D

I was first person in at the polling station this morning. Democracy Woooooh!

Then I get the pleasure of counting the votes throughout the night. Hoping to see some amusing doodles and messages on spoiled ballot papers, always helps pass the time!

Just goes to show Remainers are just as varied in their opinions as Brexiters, if not more so.

Don't forget your eraser to rub out the leave votes.

Nope - being 100% Serious. Remain - we go all in.

I walked into that polling booth today on the fence.
Split second decision made me tick one box over the other.

None of the campaigns won me over because they were both as awful as each other

Apologies, then

And I certainly agree the campaign's have been terrible. They've ranged from incompetent to outright misleading
