Will drop pants for Sony.
Played this game for two hours last and then realized I can invert the ship flight controls. Cannot wait to play after work today.

Asked this exact question literally minutes ago. Can anyone help?

I don't think you can at this point. You can create custom waypoints but unfortunately I haven't been able to find a way to head back to a certain system that I've already been to. Hoping this gets rectified in an update.

My very first experience with the game wasn't a great one. Flying through the stars at the beginning, really enjoying it, seeing all of the star names pop up, and then CRASH. Kicked to the XMB and had to start again before I even touched the controls.

Restart and go? :)

That happened to me last night when i first booted it up. Was fine second time though.

speaking of "towers of gold" - does anyone know, are there any upgrades to the mining beam beyond "melts shit faster" and "overheats less"? ... like ... blows bigger holes?

I've found increased combat damage, a railgun mode upgrade, and improved terrain destruction. I don't know if the terrain destruction one will blow bigger holes in the surface formation of oxides or not or if those are just affected by the efficiency one.

The surface formations kinda suck anyway, I've started to waste my time with them less because they're so much slower than crystals, and generally planets that have big surface formations will be pretty rich in the same crystals underground.

Right when I was going to go to bed I found an Atlas Pass plans. I also learned to make something that I think's called unstable plasma. Made one (it costs a ton of mats) but have nothing I can use it on yet. Hopefully I find something when I play tomorrow.

I was getting really close to giving up on this game. Got ambushed by 4 ships and barely had enough titanium to keep repairing shields until I killed them all. I flew back down to the planet I was just on but had to do it really slowly because I have no shields left and nearly died from asteroids. I land by a building thinking something interesting is there, but nope. Now I don't have enough Plutonium to launch back up again and there's none in site. A storm pops up and I start thinking that this is it as I don't have much to repair my thermal gear (hot planet, storm made it about 112c). When my thermal shields is down to 50%, I finally found a cave. I was just going to stay in it until the storm passed, but inside was hundreds and hundreds of Plutonium. Finally things are starting to look up for me. I gathered 1000 Plutonium and about 100 Aluminum, plus a little Iron until the storm cleared. When I walk out of the cave, I see a building close to me. Inside I found plans for an upgraded jetpack, as well as a shop. Besides the 5 minute walk back to my ship, I'm feeling fantastic. I made the improved jetpack as well as a warp cell (bought the mats I didn't have from the shop) and set off to another galaxy.

I still haven't found anywhere to upgrade my exosuit yet but besides that I'm feeling a lot better than I was earlier.

sounds like an awesome experience

Oh man, there is a lot of overscan with this game on my tv, all the UI goes off screen. I tried to shrink the display area to the maximum in the PS4 settings but it's still not enough and there's nothing I can do with my tv settings.
Am I the only one encountering this issue? Any ideas what I could do?

Had no clue it was 5 in the fucking morning right now. Finally made it off of my home planet, explored a bit of a smaller dusty planet with no life, but very resource rich. Copper and Aluminum everywhere. Just got the quest now for the hyper drive and have docked at my first space station.

About 9 or 10 hours in so far. This game continues to make me feel so happy. I feel like a kid playing Morrowind again, wandering around, not knowing what the hell is going on - only on a much bigger scale obviously. Having tons of fun.

I sure hope so too and thank you for the response! :D

I am hoping that they also address how odd water behaves in this game (at least on certain planets unless it's all of it). You literally get forced underwater when you hit the surface.

My LE will arrive today, but after listening to todays Giantbombcast I have one question:

They mentioned that the preorder bonus Ship will cut out a lot of the beginning tutorial.

Can I do the beginning stuff and get my preorder Ship later on?

So, one step closer to operational hyperdrive – I got an antimatter from a Gex, but I don't have a warp cell blueprint. Hm. For being a guided intro, it sure is vague about what you're supposed to do next.

Yup. He sent these tweets in quick succession at around 8am when he was probably just in the office finding stuff out and such and is probably looking into it now.

From the tweets it sounds like they have more than just "Discoveries" on the server, and that it is only the discoveries bit that is handling the load right now, and that everything else is buggered due to server load.

Well I think they knew before (if?) he got any sleep that the servers were completely hosed. I think they only have one network guy handling the stuff. Handling discoveries is one thing, it's just creating a new database record on the server. But the multiplayer stuff, the servers would have to coordinate the session when people get in range and track in real time. I'm sure the servers were way too overloaded to handle it.

In a way I'm not surprised by the reaction... in every NMS thread we've tried to tell people not to expect real multiplayer, but people take any phrase Sean utters as sotheresachance.gif and spin up all these expectations about co-op with their buddies. I'm sure Sean wishes he had never said there was any MP component now.

Morrowind is the right analogy, we are now officially buddies! ;)

Man this game is so good. It's vanilla flavored at the moment and I've never tasted vanilla like this before, maybe first time playing Destiny only this game actually gives me a usable flying spaceship. So good.

Dammit I need copper.

It was. Still haven't really found a planet I liked yet. The only green planet I've found so far was the one I started on but it was a toxic green with radiation. Most planets I've been on so far have been some variety of red.

I've found a lot of copper so far. A lot of it has been floating above the ground. I've found 0 gold so far though. The only gold I've found came from a ship I destroyed.

Does anyone know how to get back to early galaxies you've visited? The galactic map doesn't seem to help if you get further away from where you started.

I know the pause menu shows everything you've discovered, but doesn't assist with getting there.

You can, it's just vague how to do it.

Go to the Galaxy Map and hit Up on the d-pad (I think...it's in the lower left corner) to "scan for discoveries." It will spin for a while (quite a while sometimes) and then you'll see it change to something like "Skip to nearest" or similar. Tapping Right on the D-pad will then jump you through all the star systems you've discovered, closest to furthest. When you find the one you want to go back to, make it a waypoint and you can follow the trail back to that system.

People losing their damn minds in that "can you see people" thread. Convinced the biggest whiners have not played the game and have no intention of it.

I honestly don't have time to read the 130 pages here. Can someone please summarize GAF impressions? From the stuff I've read, it boils down to

--Game is relatively disappointing.
--Repetiive
--Combat Sucks
--Exploration is fun at first but grows tiresome
--Inventory system frustrations

The vibe I'm getting is about a 6.5/10. If I'm wrong, please let me know, but nothing about the impressions so far has made me think "I need to get this game, today".

You didn't have time to read through 130 pages but you managed to read through and pick out all those negative comments whilst glossing over all the positives. Ok!

The game is great, for me anyway I'm really enjoying it. I can't wait to get back into it later today.

I'm out of town on business.... so everyone's impressions are killing me... cant wait to get back home. just 2 more days to go

Nothing new. Happens with every new huge release. Some of those people like the thrill of seeing things fail.

Here's the thing there are way more people that are gonna buy, play and love the game. people on gaf or rededit are not the voice of the world... not a majority and respectfully they are like the little dog that wants people to respect their bark... so they bark even louder.. one of my friends thats critical to ridiculous lengths text me saying its AWESOME... lol this guy never uses all caps. so i found it funny... so I'm like what makes it so awesome... he says its just too much to type. coming from a guy that once texted me so much in one text it came through in several separate messages.. lol but now he's over gushing that he can't type it all.

People are f'ing morons, it angers me so much. This game is so special and beautiful, how can anyone become angry and threaten legal action. What a bunch of turds

Ahhh don't worry about them, just chill and enjoy. I'm just kicking back and playing and loving it!

Just found a frosty planet, full of snow capped trees. So pretty, and a massive contrast to my starter planet which was bright red with floating islands and giant mushrooms everywhere.

Quoting so others will see. Thanks for this! I was messing with this exact feature too but wasn't sure if it was doing what I wanted it to be doing.

This current planet is barren and toxic with dead outposts everywhere. It's fun hopping from base to base trying to get the plutonium to keep my suit going.
