No Man's Sky |OT| Hello Worlds.

Got over with my warp drive tutorial and wanted to claim my preorder Ship.

Where can I find it? I see my LE Stuff in the Bonus Content Menu, but no ship.

This isn't a hoarders game, and I really like it. The game would be void of challenge if you could stack everything. Bypass chips, sure I get that. However, limited inventory is a core part of this experience. If I could hoard elements, I could farm for an hour then never have to worry about warp cores ever again.

there is a fine balance though man, I think some of the complaints with the way things stack are valid. It is in the patch notes that they plan to further extend the inventory space, so they must realise that it is slightly too limited the way it is. Before the day one patch the space/stacks were HALF what they are now, imagine how that would have gone down lol.

Another QoL improvement I would like is to be able to mass-upload discoveries.

I need zinc to repair the pulse engine. What is kinda shitty is that I have my launch thruster repaired but it won't let you lift off without repairing your pulse engine too. Doesn't really make sense. I did find one beacon but it sent me to an outpost with only a blueprint. No terminal.

Really? You have to fix the Pulse engine? Wow, that sucks. Have you tried caves? See if you can break down (L3+R3) any upgrades either on your ship or exo to get Zinc? It would say on the item description like "break down: 30 zinc, 15 iron". I'm sure there's a trade platform somewhere on the planet, though, so in worst case scenario, just keep pushing. You can go for.. umh.. that other option.. Not monolith.. Well, point is that even small outposts, so long as they have a landing pad, have a trading platform, and get visited by traders.

But maybe one of those will have the ship that worked where it was before it de-spawned. I was under the impression your ships stay wherever they were parked even if you had to fly back to it on a space station or whatever.

I thought that too, but I can't seem to find it anywhere since loading back into the save. It appears to have despawned. I can try to look again, but I'm quite far from the original landing spot and it's really hard to navigate on this lifeless rock. Although this sucks, it's also pretty neat from a new sense of gameplay.

They even wrote that they'll likely increase it in the future, so yeah. However, now that I'm further into the game, space isn't the same issue at all, anymore. It's a rewarding feeling.

I think I'm fucked. I dove down onto a planet after getting chased by space pirates and ended up distracted by some cool stuff down there, including finding a crashed ship that was much better than my own. I transfer all my things over to it thinking I have everything to repair it with and then it comes down to zinc. No zinc. This planet is a barren mess. I cannot find zinc anywhere. I lost my other ship in this process (it actually looks to have despawned since I last loaded into the game). What am I going to do...? I cannot find zinc anywhere. There are no plants with zinc, no animals on this planet to help me find zinc, and I have yet to see any outposts or trading posts to find a terminal. What the hell should I do? My two most recent saves are both me stuck with this broken ship.

This is my fear and why I haven't changed over to some of the crashed ships I've found yet. I always have almost everything needed except 1 or 2 items and assume I won't find those on the planet either.

Is there a Preload coming for the Steam version?

In my Steam client, all it shows is when I purchased the game.

No "coming on "this date". No count down timer. No other options. Not even in the right-click menu.

If it is really gone, I guess, might have to bite the bullet and restart. Try reloading both saves a few times and searching before giving up. Sucks if it is really gone.

I am 20 hours + into it and only just got a new ship and a couple more suit slots lol, so I guess it depends how your discoveries go as to how well you can cope with the limits, and how big those limits are. Must be hard to balance such a huge project and keep people mostly happy without changing it too much.

I can't get over the terrible FOV of the game, it's so bad.

Is the protagonist some sort of bobblehead alien?

For real, it breaks the inmersion and kind of ruins the nice vistas of the worlds, having that "handgun" so close to the camera, no arms, totally cropped fov.

Weird.

Your character is most likely not a human, the grunts while the character tries to catch its breath is not human, I think the FOV is that close for one reason is to try to hide whatever the character is

Have you gotten Atlas pass v1? They kind of help with exo suits. You can also just use beacons for shelters, and get a lot of them. I have 17 slots on exo and 23 on ship. Probably 15 hours in.

However, there is a bug that currently makes your viewing point a lot lower than it should be. I noticed I got a lot shorter at a point, and it would intermittently fix it self. Now it seems to be permanent.

Is anyone else naming your planets based on what it has to farm? Two of my planets are "Has Gold" and "Has Emeril" lol. That shit sells for a fortune and i was able to buy a 25 slot ship for $1.5 mil.

The system had 6 planets and i could never remember which ones had the good resources so i named them the most basic thing ever.

Fuck me It's been 3 hours and I'm still on my first planet lol

Wanted to 100%'it but not sure its possible. That reward tho....

Also, found some upgrades but not any for inventory :(

Guys, is it possible to fix a ship after its taken critical damage? I repaired my shields but the actual ship is still only at one "ship health point" and I have no idea how to help.

Got the blueprints. So that took me 35 minutes from the start of a new game.

If I had just gone to the beacon first instead of redeeming the goddamn ship.

Again:

I'm finding the upgrade system confusing now I'm going deeper into it.

If something has a red outline does that mean the upgrade/technology isn't active?

or does the colour just indicate which systems are linked and providing buffs?

So have been on the planet you start on for about 6hrs now. There's gold etc everywhere, I have managered to get 480,000 credits. Is it worth staying on here as it has loads of stuff to harvest still or move on to a new planet? (I am getting a little bored of the place).

Move on. There are less tedious ways to make way more money.

Thank fck I don't have the ship redeem bug. Just found a crashed ship, swapped for it, climbed in and got the quests for the hyperdrive blueprint.

Yup. The inventory, crafting and language systems seem to be almost identical to Out There (which is awesome, everyone should play it). Although you are only severely limited in inventory early on, once you get some exosuit upgrades you have a lot more space.

Tried to buy the game 7 times through PSN after adding new Visa and it keeps telling me to check my transaction history. Anyone else experience this?

When it comes to selling artifacts and trade items, Kotaku just posted there is one type you want to hold onto and not sell:

Atlas stones

I'm having an issue that is screwing up my ability to progress.

So I found the Atlas monolith and it unlocked the "path towards waypoint" in the galactic map. So I warp to the star that it leads me to and check the map again. Now it is pointing me back to the star I just came from under the "path towards waypoint tab." I don't really want to spend hours fueling my warp drive just to go back and forth. Anyone have any pointers?
Also my planets no longer have a list of records for me to discover... Is this a server issue?

..How is that planet not rotating? It's just that the moons have the same orbital period that the planet has rotational period.

Science reminder: The earth rotating is what makes the sun move across the sky once per day.
All planets in a system orbit and rotate exactly the same.

Does anyone know or have a guess as to how the DRM free version will handle uploading/online features? I wanna snag this on GOG and let my wife try it out, but if her discoveries don't upload to the global server/she doesn't see others that would be pretty lame. Since you're just running an exe with no account association, how does it handle username and such?

How did you get this?! It's like a game changer right there!

Was just exploring (trying to get Units for a new ship) I came across a building I had to destroy the door of. Beat some sentinels and then got the blueprint inside.

O.o it was kind of random. saved ASAP rofl
