Keep going forward, you arent meant to go back really, since everything you have seen you can see again. If you find a particularly valuable planet stay and get what you want from it, then move on. Otherwise on with the search man, never go back.............

Bummer. I found a planet with those Grav Balls and now I need one - cuz of course I sold them.

Getting all my shit done today, so tomorrow when I get home from work I'm jumping right into NMS .

Have a nice bourbon aged stout waiting to be opened tomorrow at 3:30PM ^_^

BRING IT

Just bought a 26 inventory slot ship for 2.1M. Fells good.
Hate to say this but. You might have wasted money. Ive seen some be cheaper with a lot of slots. I'm.pissed i spent 800k and then found a better crashed ship 30 mins later lol.

I dont think ill be buying ships anymore lol.

Ok at this point I really need some help. How did you guys who have warp upgrades get them?

I've got stacks of upgrades for everything but none of these at all and it's driving me crazy now. I want to know what's in those locked systems!

I am loving the game but there are definitely criticisms to be made.

Unfortunately for a lot of people they are already down the rabbit hole of a scandal that barely exists in the first place.

I'd be shocked if over 50% of those people have played the game.

True. The game isn't perfect, that's for damn sure. And there are things that annoy/disappoint me but overall, it's been a rather lovely experience. After two days, I can say I really like it. I'm eager to see where this game will be at in 6 months to a year. I hope the game is successful, but considering how much people cling to review scores instead of forming their own opinion, I'm not so sure what the legs of this game will be.

I want more NMS in the future! The game has a pretty solid foundation. I liken it to the original Assassin's Creed in that it was rough around the edges, but showed great promise. Then the sequel released and blew the pants off of the original. With NMS, you don't need a sequel, just Hello Games adding more to the existing foundation of the game. If they can stick to keeping those quality of life content updates free, that'd be wonderful.

How many aliens have you met? The onws ive gotten have been gifts from them.
At least 10. I'm up to 'Familiar' I think. I have gotten plenty of blueprints and little things from them, but no one's offered me a new multi-tool yet. Still stuck with the starting one.

Probably just unlucky.

Yoooo

Just got Warp Reactor Sigma.

Following Atlus Path and jumped closer to the Atlus waypoint on the galactic map, went into space station and the alien gave it to me.

Crashed ship slots seem to always have your number of ship slots +/-1 slot, so if you hadn't bought that ship, any crashed ship you found would be worse than the one you found.

I made the mistake of commenting in the review thread. How fucking dumb I am.

Nobody is interested in having an actual discussion on the game's merits or short-comings. It's really frustrating. I think I'll have to treat NMS threads like I do David Cage threads. Not worth engaging in discussion with those people.

Any positive impressions on the game are dismissed as you lapping up the sweet nectar of Sean "The New Molyneux" Murray's "promises." Maddening. I thought maybe I'd leave my impressions for people to read, but people don't want to read positive impressions (even when I included a few paragraphs of my own personal negatives). They want shitshow 24/7. The game is overhyped hot garbage. There's no reasoning with people like that. It's a shame, because legit discussion could be had about the games shortcomings and successes, and that'd be beneficial largely due to the fact that Hello Games is actively improving and building on the game, so constructive criticism is pretty valuable.

Anyway that's the last I'll say about that thread. It's disappointing and embarrassing. The internet sure does love its meltdown threads...

On another note, it is a boring fucking day at work. I wish I was at home playing more NMS. I really want to wrap up this moon and move on to my next star system, but I can't bring myself to leave with those 5 undiscovered animals on my checklist...

Yup. Ive thought about posting there but theres no point. People have already made up their mind on what this game shouldve been.

Personally I always knew what it was. Minecraft-like with less crafting and more exploring. People need to learn to temper their expectations..

Do not redeem your bonus ship until you have found the Hyperdrive blueprint.

You'd think that they'd fix the preorder ship big for the PC release, since they have been working on other stuff. Can't imagine it's that hard of a fix, to give you the blueprints if you have or at one point had the preorder ship.

I am tempted to cancel my preorder and buy it tomorrow, just to avoid all of that nonsense.

You know what I'm curious about, hows the space combat?

Is it fun at all? I understand it has an arcadey feel to it (which is great!)

The few instances Ive done it, its acceptable. It feels alright. Then again most of the time I try to get away because I dont want to die

Yea, that's one of the reasons why I've skipped rebuilding crashed ships and just taking the the resources.

So apparently threres not gonna be a preload for the game on steam, even when its just a toggle on the Steamworks backend.

well. i guess im gonna be playing 2 days atfer launch.

Where do you find those?

Around? There are several different types of outposts, and sometimes planets are littered with them (my planet) and sometimes they arent. I recommend that if a planet is "outpost scarce" you move onto another one because you are more likely to find it on an outpost rich planet.

From what I've played I find it to be garbage.

But then again I'm spoiled by Elite: Dangerous which has an incredible flight combat model.

Is there a limit to the number of exosuit suit slots you can acquire? I'm currently at 26 (but I'm still using the starting ship!)

I think the max size is 48 slots for your suit. Might be the same for your ship, but no one have bothered to grind ships that far, I guess.

How do I tell where I've been? I wanted to backtrack to a system and can't figure out how.
When in star-map mode there's an option to search nearby found systems/planets - including yours, and there's an option to explore the map freely (by hitting R1, I think)

My hopes for the PC version:

-Little to no pop-in. It's extremely annoying and off-putting to be flying towards a planet surface, and have the entire thing completely change.
-60fps (of course)
-Better AA
-FOV sliders. Oh god FOV sliders. I NEED IT
-Faster load times

Am I missing anything?

DSR (proper optimization so its possible)
