Final Fantasy XV: World of Wonder video (ft. Florence + The Machine)

Why are the textures so extremely low res in this video? There's also some major blur on most of the foliage. It looks like a PC game on very low.
I mean, they have showed bad videos before, but this is beyond that.

Compare these to the screenshots in the OP. I'm fairly sure the final game will look nowhere as bad as this (in fact, I'm convinced it will look great), but why would they even release this footage.

The video quality sucks. Look at the text at the lower right and the artifacting.

This actually looks like it was made in that alpha build or whatever.

Wouldn't surprise me tbh, in one of those ATR's they showed some footage that was months old, think it was some Chocobo video. It's like they made a bunch of these WOW trailers and waited quite the time to release each one of them.

Or maybe it just looks "meh" and there's nothing they can do :V

i don't get how/why SE still continue to release screens and videos that are compressed to hell

like with this video, it honestly feels like they have uploaded the video to facebook, downloaded that file from facebook and then uploaded it to youtube or someshit.

Looks like a VHS recording.

I hope Naga's animations have been updated. The snek is this trailer far more believable.

Naga looks cooler, though.

It's hard to tell due to compression but is Naga's hair dithered? The beaded parts look it but the free strands look clean and smooth.

So, have they released a video yet that isn't smeared all over with vaseline and compressed to hell and back? ;)

This. Holy shit. I don't know why companies keep uploading these videos in 1080. The amount of compression that youtube uses on 1080p videos is ridic. Uploading at 1440 would allow a much greater amount of bandwidth and a better visual representation of what the game actually looks like.

Just have the Deluxe + harcover piggyback guide for now. I am pretty optimistic about the game and won't let the internet ruin it for me closer to launch.

Good on you! I'm trying not to let the negativity get me down either, because honestly I don't notice the graphical problems until people point them out. I have to imagine that on September 30th when I'm playing this game and having fun, I'm not going to be constantly refreshing GAF to read a thorough analysis of why I should be pissed.

Oh my lord I'm so sick of people complaining about the game's visuals with EVERY screenshot and video. Just wait until release.

I mean, is that really fair? The game is 1.5 months from release. Uncharted 4 was consistency considered amazing visually up until and after release. Why can't a Japanese company on relatively equal footing with Naughty Dog (in their respective countries at least) be held to the same standard? I don't doubt that I'll gush over 15 when it releases (visually, at least) but I also don't notice many flaws that others do.

As a lot of others have stated, FFXV looks like a game that is stuck in a weird place because of the weak hardware of the console. Before you point at UC4, it is an exclusive and also a first party release. Both are entirely different in scope.

Naughty Dog has yet to release a multiplatform open world game with the graphical capability of Uncharted 4 and scope and caliber of Final Fantasy XV.

Well this video was particularly problematic because the quality of the video is shit. I normally don't think the visuals look bad but this video looked like ass. I thought that I was looking at an non-HD version of the video when I was watching in 1080p.

You lost me right there

I don't really care if people are interested in graphical discussions or not. It's entirely cool if you are, and people can show that level of investment on that kinda thing.

But at least don't embarrass yourself and lose your shit over a vaseline-smeared YouTube upload.

I preordered the UCE brehs.

I live it.

(Regret may kick in)

I have both a UCE and a Deluxe pre-ordered. When I ordered the UCE I was just trying to click through as fast as I could, so I didn't choose fast shipping. But even if I did, I don't trust SE to get it here on day 1, so I pre-ordered a regular one. I know your hell, my friend.

XV is at the end of the day a former PS3 game, no (could be wrong tho)? Add that to SEs love of biting off a bit more than they can chew and the general rocky development process and yes, the game will look funny in the light a few times.

we are lucky to even get XV at the end of the day. Its not going to be perfect, not even close. It would take a miracle for that after the development process it has gone through.

people are expecting far too much IMO

Wow I can't believe that a high budget incredibly linear game is really consistent visually compared to a very large open world game, (from Japan), who would've guessed that?

XV is a solely next gen project, if this is console footage I appreciate the honesty for what they're going for visually.

Maintaining graphical fidelity in a game with small, tight linear environments is totally the same as doing it in a giant open world.

Not to mention one is targeting a single platform versus the other being multiplatform. Even Witcher 3 took a while to get the balance right after numerous patches.

After playing previous Final Fantasies (apart from 13), can you really say we are expecting too much? Every single game has looked great. I don't think anyone can deny that.

yeah this.

the youtube video is compressed to hell, theres no point dissecting it graphically as the video is gonna look way more shit than what the game probably looks like
