Nice! This looks like it could be interesting, and really a lot of fun.

Can't wait for Metal Gear fans to become the new Metroid fans.

Seems super cool, and a nice spin on the franchise itself. It's not like this game is an entirely new game with a huge crazy story that effects the entire MGS storyline.

I agree, seems like a fun budget side game, honestly nothing to get vitriolic about

...and yet it is. It really is. Whodathunkit?

Although unearned, I liked that ending. :)
But that ending fucked with the whole Metal Gear canon making it even more ridiculous and making most of the plot after MGS2 super questionable.

And yet some zombies are worse than "we broke the whole plot because I love Big Baws".

Wormholes... Alternate universe... Crystalline zombies...

Words fail me. I can't even begin to understand how they came up with such an idea. And I'm expecting a lot of microtransactions in this game.

Well, this ride never ends it seems. #FucKonami

Seriously, what is going on with that company? Wait, scratch that, we all know by this point everything wrong with it. A better question would be when did it begin to go wrong? What is the catalyst?

I honestly want Konami to go bankrupt, just so they have to sell their IPs, which could find a new breath of life in someone else's hands.

You act like it doesn't sound like Kojima would do this shit.

It seems like this was planned in parallel to MGSV.

you're on to something. So many series have lost their "creator" lead. MGS is not the first and will not be the last. I guess we (MGS fans) have been spoiled because Kojima stayed on for a long time; and honestly probably too long. I guess we just go to get used to new MG games without Kojima. Some maybe good, and some maybe terrible. Ah well.

You're deluded if you think an MGS3 remake is not coming. I must have made it more clear that the remake is not a GC announcement.
It's coming, but it will be taken down by Nintendo because it's really an RPG Maker fan project that looks like Metal Gear 2 on the NES.

Look, you said this: "It is an MGSV complete edition and an MGS3 remake. Gamescom is around the corner and you read it first here."

Come on...

I know that you have been right in the past (on the Sony deal) but this is not good man.

I do find it funny that when tasked with coming up with replicating Kojima weirdness, Konami not only went with the weirdest, Easter Egg, jokey, bonus, noncanon, and unlockable style of Metal Gear over the top as the main premise, but they actually still made it boring with zombies.

This is my cringing gut reaction while reading the OP perfectly articulated.

It honestly doesnt sound that bad, I need to see some gameplay first though.

Dont know why people are tripping out. As a fan of Metal Gear since Snakes Revenge (I know not cannon) I couldnt even finish MGS5, and traded it in for Mad Max

So in my mind they would have to total shit the bed for me to question the game. Taking the wait and see approach.

Its not adding to or extending the MGS story (I feel like MGS5 ruin it) so I cant understand what people mean insinuating its damaging the IP

Yeah that's definitely some bullshit. The only 8 year gap is between MG2 and MGS. The next longest is 7 years between MGS4 and 5, but that's only if you don't count Peace Walker, Revengence, and Ground Zeroes.
I see a lot of people saying shit like that. I don't understand it...especially because a list of metal gear titles and their release dates is a simple Google search away.

Pro: MGSV was a fantastic game. This is likely just going to reuse it, but in co-op.
Con: Eeeeeeeeh. Co-op is not why I play MGS. And why I'm not getting this.

He also just yesterday predicted that 4 player co-op MGS was coming, maybe I just want to believe but he must know sumthin right?

He said that he "had a feeling" MGSV was getting a 4 player stealth co-op mode. Not a new game. That's what he does, tease inaccurate shit which often is a result of him hearing something incomplete from a friend or whatever. It's annoying as hell, people keep complaining about it, so if he wants to keep doing it, if he's inaccurate about stuff but he still wants to play insider, he's gone.

Most of the canon is fucking questionable regardless :D

A big part of the story of TPP revolved around those who had affected the saga but had been forgotten along the way. A big through theme of the series as a whole has been revealing the reality behind its legends and myths. Whilst it didn't build to the reveal very well at all, it certainly fit. I like the questions it raises.

And yet some zombies are worse than "we broke the whole plot because I love Big Baws".

Not just some zombies, my friend: Super Crustal Space Zombies from Dimension Cash Grab!

They could have been at least a bit original with the alternate universe idea, like a world filled of Skulls and psychics and shit, not some random zombies.

I loved the co-op in Peace Walker and spent nearly 200 hours playing that game and I really missed it in MGSV. If this game is anything like the co-op in Peace Walker I'll love it, but if the mission diversity is anything like MGSV I will be sad.

That 7-year thing isn't even worth acknowledging, because there's no reason not to count those games. Especially Peace Walker, which is just as much a part of the main series as MGS5. The presence/absence of a number in the game's title doesn't automatically determine if it's a mainline game or not. Ground Zeroes/MGS5 directly continue on from Peace Walker's plot.

Peace Walker was originally going to be called MGS5, and the only reason it wasn't was because they didn't want to grant that title to a handheld exclusive.

I mean, it's weird and it's trendy with the zombies, but it's a big project the likes of which I kind of thought Konami might walk away from despite the talk from the LA office, and I like that the team is doing something completely different (and calling it something other than Metal Gear Solid) for its first outing rather than trying to rightfully follow up MGS V. Good luck to them.

such an accurate feeling don't you think so?

My bad I called it mode but in the Community thread I said game: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=213919155&postcount=7782

Aw. Just saw the trailer, it really is a zombie game in the MGSV engine with MGS lore. I don't want to see more.

Also, that was another awfully edited video.

Well I certainly didn't expect this and I definitely did not expect the trailer to make me excited for it. Too bad it's co-op. I wonder if it's co-op only (maybe that's been clarified, will have to read through the thread).
