Final Fantasy XV TGS 2016 Trailer

Before anyone jumps around asking if it was the pro, they said it was on a normal PS4.

Sounds really nice to me.

Bold prediction.

I'll add the tweets to this quote.

Nah, you get the full DLC set (jacket, watch, necklace) with any of the Omni7 goods: http://7net.omni7.jp/general/027010/1603ff15goods

Poor people can just buy a 35 buck handkerchief to get the code. If you're feeling rich, you can also buy the 3500 buck watch and get the same code!

Oh well shit the royal family has to make bank somehow lol.

The jackets are nice though lol I think I'll grab both on that site. After the game is out of course.

Trailer looks good. That report from Ben Moore is encouraging, as well. I've been really worried that this game would be a technical trainwreck, but it would appear that they're tightening it up a lot in the home stretch.

My cautious optimism about this game is becoming just a tad less cautious.

Pre-rendered footage isn't needed to make a good trailer, though. I think this trailer would be stronger if there was better transitioning between scenes and Omnis Lacrima wasn't playing over all the characters talking to each other.

I don't think the problem with the recent FFXV trailers is the ingame footage. I think the problem is that whoever is cutting the trailers is doing a poor job of presenting the footage they've been given to work with.

In quite a few other FFXV trailers, sure. In this one, I'm not seeing it.

Omnis Lacrima reflected the conflicted emotions of the first half; whatever the other song was reflected the more uplifting message of the second. Out of all the FFXV trailers I've seen, I think this one might have captured what the game seems to be the best: Noctis is suddenly thrust into a role of much greater responsibility, he has to grow into it, and although some of this growth will take place within set piece moments, a good amount of it will happen over the course of a vast road trip adventure with his friends. It did a good job communicating that, yes, there's some dramatic stuff going on, but this is fundamentally a journey about growing up and camaraderie and product placement.

The one thing I didn't like about the trailer was the random Luna slap. Just came out of nowhere, and didn't serve much purpose.

FFXV's trailers have fallen far short of Versus XIII's (surprise, surprise), but this was a good one.

If that trailer was representative of the OG PS4 version...shit. Tabata and co are technical wizards.

The release date should have always been december

November is always what Tabata wanted, he even said it was his preferred month in the Uncovered ATR when Gooch was getting drunk and making fun of Kitase

He's always been way more realistic about the game then anyone else at Square

Yeah, he's a real realist. Not prone to lofty goals or exaggeration at all.

Yup. For sure.

This bodes well for the Pro version(s).

This delay has yielded some spectacular results.

Isn't a lot of the improvement just the product of a newer build we would have gotten in a day 1 patch, anyway?

Either way, definitely seems like delaying the game was a good call.

Yup. For sure.

Well, there's a pragmatic element to setting lofty goals. This is also the guy who apparently told his team it's okay for them to fail.

Yeah, I liked that. And it looks like an obvious upgrade from what they have shown previously on consoles. Either this is pro footage (IQ doesn't suggest it is though) or they have made big changes on console. Lighting looks better, LoD is much better.

Ah, that must have been how the Platinum Demo got made. :)

"Would you two mind putting together a demo for us? Focus on displaying the tech, and make sure there's at least one interesting combat encounter. It's okay if it doesn't turn out to be anything special."

Totally believable.

Yeah Nov. 29th can't come soon enough. And this was a real decent trailer, too.
If this is not PS4P footage and upgrades for the Pro are substantial then god will it look good. It's already amazing on a regular PS4.

Stick around, they will definitely show up
from people who didn't play the game :P
.

Regardless of the actual quality of the game or the marketing, NeoGAF threads will downturn to moody pessimism between now and release. Watch.

Indeed.

"This cannot be a good game because it's not Dark Souls."

"Tabata is an imposter! #FreeNomura"

"Stellaaaaaa!"

Wait a sec, whatever happened to the hooded guy from the older trailers? Assassin's Creed dude? Did we ever see him again after 2013?
I just noticed I haven't seen him in a while.

I really liked the trailer. The game is looking great.

I didn't love it, from an editing and audio standpoint. Square Enix is worthy of having clever Hollywood-level trailers that are works of art unto themselves. I don't think they've put in the right processes to cultivate top-shelf trailer talent yet.

^ I'd probably pick up an FF7-era Cloud and Squall someday, so neat.

Got tears welling up. That trailer was incredible. The emotion was palpable. I'm finally going to able to play this before the end of the year. Finally.I t looks so good.

Still my most anticipated game this year. Only thing I'm concerned about is that every time we see 'exploration', it's in Duscae or that desert area. Hoping that we get to explore a variety of environments.
