Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
It means the game will launch all those devices, not launching on PSVR launch. Rift and Vive are already out but the game is not out yet, so its another big sign that "launch" refers to game launch not PSVR launch.
They said 2016 everywhere. Being playable means nothing as it may only be a playable demo or a prototype.

Extremely doubtful. I think the problem is they've already sold out and won't be getting a huge amount of stock the rest of the year. They don't need to waste money marketing because scarcity and word of mouth will do it.
Oh wow, didn't expect PA to support move. Glad it does.
I really hope it does come out on the 13th. But looking back, I guess there never really were confirmation.

Eve Valkyrie getting an update on PSVR launch that supports Cross-Play between Oculus Rift players, adds Co-Op to play with friends against AI, Adds 2 single player missions and also new daily challenges. Good update for PSVR launch.

Yeah on the cable there is a volume/power controller with a headphone 3.5 jack, Sony weren't quite as courageous as Apple unfortunately.
Yes, in fact you need to use it to get the proper 3D audio output.

Agreed. I played a few PSVR games at TGS, but Thumper was the most unique of them. I definitely got Rez vibes (not a bad thing at all), but the really unusual thing about Thumper is that there is really NO looking around at all, which was a core part of every other VR game I played.
In Thumper, the VR is all about immersion. You don't have time to look around and even if you did, there'd be no point. You're on rails going full speed ahead. The only thing that matters is what's right in front of you. It made for a very different kind of VR experience. You can be perfectly still and just get in the zone.
Not sure what the pricing will be in the West, but the rep I spoke to said it would be ￥1999. Cheap!
So, with my Sony wireless headset (v2/gold) I don't use the dongle I plug into the box or do I need a new headset!?
You have to use the 3.5mm cable (included with the headset) to connect it to the PSVR cable, the wireless dongle won't output the spacial audio. Confirmed to me by Shu on Twitter and by the Japanese PS website.

As for advertising would be silly to have a massive push when you can't walk into stores and buy it, have to come back a month later, imagine they push towards black friday/christmas, there marketing budget this year will have space after the GT Sport move till next year I imagine.
Just glad i got mine on amazon in time to get a october 13th delivery, fingers crossed that does not change.

Here in Italy the PSVR is like a mistery... it's possible to preorder it in some stores, but for example the PS Camera is like a phantom... and the fact that it is necessary does make it weird... there is a lot of lack of information here, also it's not clear when you try to preorder if it is available or not for the release date, nor if there is some bundle available...

There is a weird lack of information here in Sweden as well. You can preorder PSVR on several websites, but a lot of the SKUs feel like placeholder, and there is no final retail price set by the Swedish distributor yet.
I changed my address on Amazon UK and my launch-day delivery changed to several days later (despite a customer service rep telling me that would not happen). I emailed their customer support and they bumped me up to the fastest shipping and told me that I would for-sure get it on the 13th and if it didn't then I should email them.

I have a feeling this is to stop people cheating the system of one per address/re-selling pre-orders but that really sucks if you have a valid reason yeah assume support would be your best bet as may be able to change it without triggering the cancellation, otherwise go sit outside your old place all day

Well, definitely not a mystery here in the Netherlands. They had a tonne of demopods at the local 'PSVR Experience'. Got a good 35 minutes to try out some stuff. It seemed like regular PS4s, so maybe the experience on PS4Pro will be slightly different.
I played the shark demo (shark still looks fake), Eve Valkyrie (fucking A, looking up and to one side as you bank to the other while dogfighting feels great), Rigs (no clue what I was doing, looked fantastic but gameplay kind of a let down, felt clunky and not in the good mech way), and Driveclub VR (it's okay, takes a huge visual hit, driving is a lot easier in VR though, I struggle for last place in normal driveclub but here I comfortably ended in first even though I messed up the start).
I actually quite prefer the headset quality over the other competitors. SDE is the lowest compared with the others. It's still noticeable, but more like looking through a dirty window instead of a mesh. The comfort is God tier. It sits much more ergonomically on your head than the other headsets. I can see myself wearing this for an hour, whereas I get annoyed and bothered by the Vive after twenty minutes. I furthermore didn't get annoyed by fresnel artifacts and it also makes you look less dorky. Take note HTC and Oculus.
VR still comes about two generations too early for me. The sensor tech is there, but the computing tech isn't really. Everything looks decidedly cardboard and the lack of other sensory input makes it all come off as fake and slightly tacky. It occasionally feels like you're doing a theme park ride that was fantastic 15 years ago. Driveclub VR honestly felt a bit like Daytona. The first time is amazing and I'm sure if you havent experienced VR before the shark demo will make you shit your pants. But having used modern VR for a year, it's just okay that's cute.
That said
Whereas I'm on the fence about recommending people on a Vive, I think the value proposition is definitely here for PSVR. There will actually be a number of big games that are interesting outside of novelty value, and VR definitely also has novelty value. So yeah if you don't own an Oculus or Vive yet, definitely check out PSVR. Also if you do I guess.

sangetsu got you covered there. And yes, most games that work with move uses two of them. One to represent each hands.
There are some games where it makes sense to use a controller, but most of the time, for VR games, you'll want to be able to use your hands to interact with the world. There's a disconnect when you use a controller and you see your arms moving in the game when you know your real arms aren't actually moving / or moving differently.
Move isn't as good as Touch/Vive controllers.. but it's still better than it was on PS3 since the camera on PS4 is way better.
There are. But most games will accommodate for a DS4. Just that as I said above, it's going to be the lesser experience.

Just this week-end, I got Luke Cage to watch, my D&D group is starting up again and I'm trying Vive for the first time too at a friend's.
I got so many friends also wanting to come and try it out on the first week-end that I got to split them up into two groups. I hope amazon delivers on shipping this on time for me.

For launch all the talk of Rez infinite on the Giantbombcast and on on Austins & Patricks new show has made it my choice, i have no idea what Rez is other than seeing small sightings and demos years back, only thing i know is a musical element and it looks trippy and a bunch of colors so that is enough for me. I wish amplitude got some kind of vr update or component in the future. Also really liked all of what i have seen from Rigs so that might be a purchase as well, and HOLY CRAP 15 MORE DAYS AHHHHHHHHHHH.

I'd pick VR over a Pro. VR will be different and unique experiences. Pro will just be the same games but prettier.
Yep, that's my reasoning for buying PSVR. Pro is just not as appealing to me as PSVR. VR is entirely different experience, where Pro is just making games prettier and smoother.

Getting so excited for this, got a preorder for the launch bundle. This will be my first time trying VR, going to make the shark tech demo thing in VR worlds my first game. Also have Rigs preordered, will wait and see impressions of other games.
Just start with the demo. That should give you an idea of what you like. I don't think you'd need to pre-order any of the games.
Personally I'm grabbing everything that I'll find slightly interesting and getting it digital.

I'm sticking with the pro and VR this year. After reading a couple of opinions about PSVR I'm hoping the pro will enhance the resolution even just a bit.
