Which is why I said the caveats as I did. Yes, if you want local dimming and higher peak brightness for better future proofing of HDR10, then it's your choice. But if we're just comparing the same type of panels and the difference in static contrast ratio, the performance difference isn't as bad as you would think if you did a side-by-side comparison. It's also $650 versus $1,600 so it's tremendous value . So while the X930D is pretty nice, it's still an edge-lit display w/ local dimming compared to FALD w/ local dimming and the real flagship is the ZD9 anyway like you said. So unless you needed the size, I would rather get a cheaper option now and upgrade in another 5 years to something like the ZD9 or its successors when they're possibly around the same price as a X930D now, but people have other priorities than me. I owned an X800D too, but I upgraded to a LG OLED because I couldn't handle the light bleed anymore for the brief time I had it and the ZD9 is a beast.
