This game is immense!

One thing though Ubisoft

FIX THE FUCKING SOUND MIXING. Playing with headphones on every time someone speaks I lose a bit more of my eardrum.

I think the first game was like this too. Had to turn down the center channel by like -6db.

Also the surround is messed up for dialogue. Face away from the person talking and there's no sound from the rear speakers.

Did they remove the morality system from WD1?? I really liked how it encouraged you do avoid killing pedestrians and enemies. Made you feel like a real vigilante. Not having any consequences to running people over is stupid.

Unless it is in and I haven't gotten to it, I'm only a few hours in lol

Clearing out a whole enemy strongholds by causing straight chaos with combined gang hits and and police calls will never not be satisfying.

Actual game feel while controlling marcus isn't that great feeling, and a definite step-back from WD1 (which actually felt great despite it's other issues) and driving is wonky, but everything else is great.

Loving the game

Agreed. The movement feels very light on foot. The free running moves Marcus does can have very rough transitions in the animations. While the driving is mostly a step up from the first game, it still isn't that great. It feels like I'm floating when riding around on the motorcycles. None of the vehicles feel like they have any weight. It feels similar to Saint's Row.

Rockstar should sell their driving physics to other companies. lol.

I mentioned it earlier in this thread, the sound mixing is off in this game. You have to turn everything down otherwise the voices are way too loud. It sucks because that just makes everything else sound too quiet and unsatisfying.

Ubisoft needs to put jetskis and bicycles in the next game. Or provide them as DLC for this one instead of the crap they're peddling with their season pass.

Weird, I'm not having this problem at all.

What mode are you using? I'm on 5.1 direct through HDMI to my receiver. I wonder if it's a problem with the stereo mix

The soundtrack is actually really varied. There is a radio station that plays stuff like NoFX, a hip hop playlist and they have an app like Shazam where you can pick up songs you hear in the world. One of the radio stations is even classical.
That's awesome. It was one of my major criticisms of WD1 cause I love driving around in Open World games (modern era ones) with the radio on. Varied music really helps sell the setting.

They removed the morality system.

I'm having far too much trouble escaping the police in this. They really seem persistent in the worst way just popping out a fecking nowhere.

This is basically the game in a nutshell and why I love it so much.

Hackers knew it was stupid as all shit and ran with it, so does WD2.

Yeah, that's the beauty of it. It's 100% satire mixed with very topical issues regarding privacy, big data and all sorts of nasty stuff WAY more people should be concerned about. It provides social commentary with a wink and so far the game has been walking that tightrope almost flawlessly.

I mean, Dedsec Pirate Radio has a song called DRINK ALL THE BOOZE, HACK ALL THE THINGS for fucks sake.

Anyone know if NPCs still can't call the police while they are in cars so you can murder everyone on the highway with no police coming like in Watch Dogs 1?

I think it's fascinating how often people take the stuff in the game at face value, as if it's taking itself completely seriously. When the game does anything but, so often you hear things like "I can't take these characters seriously" when Wrench's mask might as should have specific text that says "THAT'S THE POINT ~ ^"

Woah. Just had a crazy moment walking through the city.

Dude on a motorcycle pulled up in front of me in the street and pulled out a gun. He killed the man standing next to me and tried to speed off. I hacked his bike into the wall and called the cops on him. He fell off the bike and hijacked a van. The cops came and arrested him, and as I profiled him, I saw that he was an Iraq war vet. Crazy.

Hoooly shit the
livestream SWAT-er getting owned
sidemission, that was great.

Also did the Ubi sidemission, the self-awareness was delicious, even referencing the
Unity, Syndicate and even Osiris leaks
while also owning videogame "journalism".

"Our security is tighter than ever", lol. Dude totally got fired.

I know that, it doesn't fit. I'm not talking about the upgrade point btw.

Well, I try this again. Maybe I'm blind, lol.

it doesn't fit what? Lower the platform on the street and get in it. And then raise it, move it and put it on top of the building right across the street from the crane. You can move the crane forward and back with the left stick.

Welp after about 20 hours i've hit my tipping point. This game has maybe the worst (or best) implementation of hive-mind AI i've seen in ages. The fact that if ONE enemy sees you that they can sniff you out like a blood hound unless you run hundreds and hundreds of yards away from your starting location is insane. And the infinitely respawning enemies is infuriating. Honestly I feel like this game needs a "last location seen" mechanic because right now it's just not fun to play a stealthy character. Maybe if you are guns a blazing this is fun since the game constantly funnels enemies at you, but I've had enough

/closing vent

Guns blazing is not fun either because they took away everything that made the shootouts in the first game amazing. Focus being the huge omission.

Sorry if this is off topic slightly but I'm getting a Pro later today and want to pick up either Titanfall 2 or Watch Dogs 2. Can anyone here with both games say which would be a better purchase right now?

The police are extremely annoying in this. Oddly enough that mission people said they were chased for a while is what I got lucky on and finished relatively quick.

But my main gripe at the moment is: why the hell is my suppressed pistol as loud as one that isn't?

And the high speed detection is also kind of annoying. I'll have to just try and get through as much of the game that I can without combat.

Yeah its ridiculously loud. At first i thought it was a bug because i was crouched behind a metal railing and when i popped up and shot my gun it was a loud metal sound to the point that i thought the game had me registered as hitting the railing. I moved away from it and shot again and the damn thing just sounds like thunder. It's ridiculous.

Are there any guns that are actually quiet, stealthy and won't alert people?

...

I do have to admit that the game does force you to think out different ways to go about things and that is appreciated (finally figured out a way to get the money back from the fire station) but man are some things frustrating.

Has anyone figured out how to get money from this construction area where you can go down stairs but the cash or package is walled off.. I cant figure out how to get in there

I feel like the people saying this is another AC1 to AC2 leap are taking some crazy pills though. First of all Marcus, while being better than Aiden obviously, is no Ezio.

Then the game is worse in some areas compared to the first. Driving, shooting mechanics, lack of focus(like seriously why is this not in 2? I mean shit didn't make any sense in the first but still) just to name some key areas.

Like this comparison just doesn't work.

Ezio wasn't even good. Literally no AC protag is good except Evie Frye.

Can't comment on Marcus, yet, though.

Why do I keep reading this thread?

You guys are making want to play it so bad and I'm broke :(

Welcome to the club.

;_;

The wait will make the experience all the sweeter in the end

"Being considered journalism?"

The real star of this game is the city (feels very similar to GTA V) and the side quests (Driver App, looking for important locations, etc.). The main missions are not really good to be honest. I've no idea what I'm doing and why I'm doing these things.
The characters are not as bad as they seem in the trailers though.

To add to this, I've had guards that turned around, saw me, but before they could twitch a muscle I took them down, but it didn't matter, everybody was now alerted and headed straight for me.

To add to THAT, guards, once alerted, magically all know where you are, even if there is zero line of sight to you when they go on alert (at least from a takedown).

Yeah, as a stealth game I'm not really enjoying this. Which is a problem because I'm not enjoying the driving or shooting either.
