Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

Dang it, I forgot how annoying time-based encounters can be--I want to catch a Dewpider before I go on to the 3rd trial, but it's only available during the day.

Wow you can dramatically change the look of your character. It's great. I picked the girl because I hates the boy's stupid hair but I guess I could've changed that.

Found a clothing store that sells Arcanine themed clothes. 10/10 best game ever! The team is now Brionne, Grimer, Growlithe, Mudbray, and Fomantis, with the event Snorlax taking the last slot until I get Jangmo-o.

Boss battles are actually kinda tough now. I cut it close in the Water Totem battle, and the Grass Totem actually beat me once. I like it!

I have my Festival Plaza up to Level 11 and I still don't have any idea how it works. Also I saw a friend was on, but when I updated my guest list he disappeared.

About 10 hours in and just started exploring the second island. My team so far:

Charging Bus the Charjabug
Cheer the Oricorio
Cutiepie the Cutiefly
Drum Beat the Trumbeak
Muddy the Mudbray
Oliver Q the Dartrix

Caught myself an Eevee and a Bagon too c:

Ditching Mudbray the first opportunity I get. I may hate it less than Yumshoos (which I evolved), but I still hate it.

Please tell me this isn't as much of a cakewalk as X/Y.

It's not really much of a cakewalk, it's actually one of the more difficult games in the series. Though, this is me speaking with two conditions, the game on set and no EXP share, which I've done for every game in the series. The leveling curve is nigh flawless, I adore it, it's just as good if not better than Gen V's curve which I already really like. There's smarter design for the encounters in general. I feel the pressure to perform which is a very good sign in my eyes.

How necessary is all of the cleaning and rubbing shit that you can do at the end of fights? It's starting to grate on me a little that after every fight my 'mon has some shit stuck to them that I have to clean off to make them happy. Can I ignore this, or are their tangible downsides to not keeping them clean and happy?

The presentation and world-building of these games is something I've always wanted but never thought I'd get.

This is Ohmori's "abundance of life" quote manifest. The way Pokemon actually interact with the human world in logical ways makes Alola the most believable region ever - by an astronomical margin. And the random little details - like Pokemon merch adorning the shelves of the Visitor Center's gift shop - just help tie the whole thing together.

Absolutely loving it so far. Game of the year contender, for sure.

Holy crap the bomb that was just dropped lol. I had a sneaking suspicion. I just made it to Poni Island.

I'm at 31 hours and 30 minutes :)

Don't worry guys I just finished up a certain area and the payouts were kind of high so don't worry about not having money for the clothes just yet.

There are never any downsides to not using Refresh, only upsides to using it. It's mostly intended as something you check out once in a while for variety's sake.

Though, in the future games, I want opposing pokemon in the single player to get some of the effects of Refresh for the sake of Hype. They really tried to replicate the anime in turn based form from those effects and I want more of that flavor.
