Made it to Western-ish town, but taking time to explore what I can. I do find it incredibly annoying with the whole "SOS" thing.

Also, the catch rates for that Pom Pom Cheerleader Bird are so bad, or I'm just unlucky. Had it in the red, and waster 5 Greatballs, 13 Pokeballs, a nest ball, and a premier ball on it, and still nothing. Got so frustrated, especially when it spammed SOS calls and the new duo spammed growl, I grew to hate the bird itself and its cry.

Didn't want it on my team anyway...

It only matters what gender it is if you want to breed it a bit earlier without a ditto. Nature is pretty irrelevant for main game

Female is nice because you can breed it and trade its babies for other starters. But starters have a 1:9 chance of being female so it might not be worth resetting for.

I heard that when doing multi-battles, the animations and overall performance is better than on OG 3DS/3DSXL....other than that...nothing substantial.

Yup that's all I care about with the main games. Going through the story, collecting all the pokemon and obviously the battles on the way to the end of the game.

Competitive battles all is needed is smogon Showdown.
