Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

Making a Pokemon SOS only is dumb. Thank goodness the first wild Corsola I encountered summoned a Mareanie.

Araquanid is amazing. This thing has shot up into my top 10 faorite Pokemon.

Mudsdale was not originally a part of the team I wanted, but I left him in my party since I had an empty slot. Holy shit this thing is a beast! Stamina is powerful and it learns High Horsepower early on. It has saved my butt multiple times!

Also managed to fund and catch a female Mimikyu in a luxury ball :D

It looks like clothing store inventories are static. Thank goodness, because it was annoying having to check in daily at every store in XY.

I don't know if many people realise, but the clothing colours for sale differ between versions. In Sun, you can get Red, Yellow, Orange, Pink and Beige. In Moon, you can get Green, Blue, Navy Blue, Purple and Grey. Unfortunately, to get the other colours, you have to dye white clothing using the stalls in the Festival Plaza. And you need a separate stall for each colour...

Really bothers me that pikachu has its anime voice in this game. I like pikachus voice as much as anybody, but it's so out of place.

Goddamnit. And Moon has the colors I was looking for. Double goddamnit.

I'm really enjoying this so far!

I just hope with the next proper gen that they finally give us actual sound effects instead of the weird bit noises. It's definitely nostalgic and I don't mind it for the UI and stuff, but I hate that Pokémon still make weird screeching noises with the exception of Pikachu. It just doesn't make sense.

Been really enjoying the game so far. Outside of some nasty slowdown during doubles, things have been pretty enjoyable. I'm surprised at the difficulty spike compared to previous titles, but I appreciate it all the same. So many other little features and improvements make it stand out as well.

The noise when you walk into a wall is terrible lol.

Am I crazy or you can hear some Pokemon cries in the overworld? There's one route in particular where Mudbray's neigh is driving me insane.

Ok i'm asking a couple of noob things, please redirect me to a reddit post/GAF post if already been answered. I want to start casually play competitive in Sun and Moon.

1) With hyper training what's the point of breeding except for natures / egg moves / shinies ?
2) Since you have to use an item to hyper train does it mean that the amount of hyper trained pokémon is capped for every NG?
3) I heard that an hyper trained pokémon acts like it has 31 IVs on all stats keeping however its "real" IVs, does it have any negative side effect?

Guys for a guy that is almost 40 and never played Pokemon game before, are these games only for people that have enjoyed them since the early releases or can I go in it blind?

I mean I know Pikachu and mewtwo I think. Do I need to know more of them and how to use them or does game teaches such stuff? I like RPGs but mostly for the story and that's why I never tried any Poke games before but now I kinda feel like I would wanna try one :)

Anyone that started late on Pokemon craze?

Hey, I played the demo. How can I get ash greninja?

Boot up the demo and talk to Kukui in the Pokemon center. You'll have the option to transfer over Greninja and some items (if you got them). Keep in mind that Greninja will not listen to you until you have beaten the second kahuna.

Anyone have a good capture method yet? Will I basically have to level a smeargle and have it learn spore and false swipe?

The event Munchlax comes with Hold Back.

I hear them too, I wish Sun/Moon still had the grass shake and tiptoe like ORAS, that was one of my favorite features.

Every Pokemon game is fine as an entry point, no worries. It's designed as such since with each new generation there's a literal new generation that'll be joining in. There's no real necessity to know anything before picking the series up except the general idea of the game.

Since you like RPGs, the basics are pretty simple to pick up. Special moves are affected by your Special Attack, Physical moves by your normal Attack (and same with defenses for taking damage), you have HP and Speed (determines turn order). These stats will basically tell you how a Pokemon is meant to be used, what types of attacks to make use of etc. And things that aren't spelled out for you generally won't be a big deal for the main story.

Type advantage is another thing, but Sun and Moon actually make this easier for new players. Once you've fought a Pokemon, the game will actually show you how effective a particular move will be against it.

Got my shipping notification (as a filthy European).

Regarding catching a Pokemon and sending a party mon to the box instead.

this took twenty years to add

Let us not forget...well... not allowing our Pokémon to learn certain moves was also cleaned up. In previous gens, the game would ask if we are sure we don't want them to learn a move. Now I can press b and it will not ask if I am sure I don't want the move learned.

This is only possible because HMs are removed; if you could send them in previous gens, it could potentially trap you in the game forever.

Guys, I'm really having trouble getting the TM for Return/Frustration.

You're supposed to get them from a monkey in the Malasada shop in Malie City at night. But it won't show for me.

Is there some other requirement?

You have to finish the island's "grand trial" first.

Damn, this QR code thing is a great feature. I caught a
Totodile
in
Seaward Cave
because of it.

The thing I hate the most right now is that it gives you so many meaningless dialog options. Responses are always the same and apply to both answers. It is irritating.

Same, this is one of my biggest gripes with these games. Why even offer dialog options if they're completely devoid of meaning? It's a complete waste of time.

The options usually do give you a slightly different reaction. It's just very minor, like one dialogue box/emote then things carry on as usual.
