Watch_Dogs 2 |OT| .HTML

Oakland can be a warzone sometimes. I was cleaning up a few things on the map and suddenly it exploded into a gang + police war that went on for almost 10 minutes. All the latino hip-hop playing + gunfire reminded me of the Sao Paulo chapters in Max Payne 3. I managed to record the last burst of violence that occurred right after I thought everything was finished. The firefight before this one was even bigger but my PS4 didn't record it >:(

This game is insanely beautifully in Pro. So crisp and the draw distances are magnificent. I'm really curious how this looks on og.

I'll dump some screens I guess. The game's artstyle/color palette/lighting shines, but I can't say I'm not jealous of Pro IQ/draw distance.

Just curious

How many of you would say WD2 is your game of the year after putting 10+hrs into it, especially those of you that played a lot of the other biggest games of the year?
I played and loved DOOM and dark souls 3, the latter which i like as much as the first and it being my favorite series.

But this is my GOTY unquestionably.
The Prodigy - The Night Is My Friend. Also a fun fact: we had that song in long before the CODIW trailer that was also using it was released.
What's the song that plays during
Wrench's
mission? Also, seriously you guys have stellar musical choices, can't stop listening to Planet earth because of this game.

just started the game today and really like it. BUT, what is up with the aggressive police?! I tried several times but could not escape them. That is just annoying as hell.

Just finished the
Church of the New Dawn
Operation. Really, really enjoyed it. Now I have the Quad Copter I feel like the game is starting to live up to its potential. Normally I play games like this in a hugely violent style, but this time - I've hardly fired a shot, and only when I've absolutely had to.

Did the whole of the last part of the
New Dawn op
without firing a shot. Just making good use of my quad copter for scouting and setting traps, RC jumper and melee takedowns. I'm finding myself stealthing past people alot more, rather than simply killing everyone in sight. This may be because I don't have a silenced weapon yet and the stun gun's limited duration makes me feel like its practically worthless.

Using the distract hack on a guard then running up to him and 8 BALLING HIS FACE IN is very satisfying.

Cracking game.

Looks smooth. Great uploads as the engine looked pretty stressed.

What are your impressions? Any drops at all or perfectly ironed out now? Any downgrades due to the increased fps?

This is quite a quick turnaround by the devs to fix this *looking at you Bethesda... (and even ND to an extent for TLOU)*

What are the clothing customisation options like?

Very good. You can customise hats, glasses face masks, tops, bottoms, shoes and bags. Lots of different shops, each with their own range of styles. You can make yourself look very cool, or like a total twat. Naturally I'm going with the latter.

lol,your drone didnt last long(first one) ;)

I am getting this, just not right now,too many other games but it looks like fun.

I'm just glad I can return it. It's not good enough to warrant $90 in my eyes, and just feels dated. Is it a bad game? No, but it's nothing amazing. Thus far at least.

It'd have to get a lot better for me to keep it for that price.

I bought it this way because it's on sale for $50 tomorrow and I wanted to make sure I liked it enough to even spend that.

From what I've read a lot of the fun you can have hinges on having the drone and the social upgrades.

There were people earlier in the thread really struggling and not enjoying the game until they got those.

When I said you can make your him look like a total arse, I meant it.

I change clothes on a regular basis. Need to save money now so I can buy from the ludicrously overpriced smart yachting clothing ship. Wanna dress as a cruise ship admiral.

One downside that continues to plague these games is variety.

There is very little variety in the cars and it is really jarring in an otherwise convincing world.

NPCs are also really limited, it's not rare to see 2 or 3 of the same character model stood near each other with slightly different attire. Every one of the pawn shop keepers is the same guy for eg.

Also, interactive game objects like cranes, lifts, forklifts, cameras, junction boxes etc. They do of course need to be identifiable, but perhaps an algorithm that presents a little variety in colour, condition, branding, a few size variations etc.

It seems NPC, Vehicle and Object variety hasn't really seen much of an effective jump since early PS360 days.

I haven't played much since the new update. I'll post some impression later tonight but I can say that performance seems rock solid with not a screen tear in sight.

25 hours put in I'd say. Top 3 GOTY so far.

It's like they took everything I love and put it into a game. So so good.

Has anyone found the complete songs list? I really like some of the tunes played by Beach Radio, but I haven't unlocked them through SongSneak yet and the game doesn't seem to show what's currently playing on the radio.

Me too, and that's why I want a "Save Outfit" option.

If you run song seek from your phone manually it will tell you what is playing.

That said I wish there was a way to exclude songs from the radio other than building a playlist.

That Sublime song is straight up ear cancer.

What does the 1.04 patch do?

Land three head shots on a guy and still no kill. Cool hit detection.

As an experiment I tried shooting a cop from a distance of about 10 to 15 feet with a shotgun. Reticle aimed at face and center mass. It took 4 or 5 hits to kill her.

They shouldn't have even bothered with guns in this game.

I'm finally getting the chance to sit down and really play Watch_Dogs 2 and I'm seeing why I don't really agree with all the people who wish lethal weapons were an option: no one in the game agrees.

It doesn't matter how innocuous your mission is, everyone's response to you is the same: draw weapon, shoot til Marcus is dead. If Ubisoft listens to complaints and takes guns out, I'm gonna need a MASSIVE change in AI. Security people have no business drawing a gun on you (much less firing) because they found you on a movie set. :P

Even the freaking cops! I saw some dude going nuts, wrecking a car. I walked over, punched the guy a couple times. Cops got there and UNLOADED! FFS.

Granted, you can't kill the cops anyway. Sleeping Dogs really had that right--in other open world games it doesn't matter how many times you off cops your heat level just keeps rising. :P

Hoping for a good PC version. But considering what a mess WD1 was and that almost every big PC-release have been broken at launch this year i guess it's a fools errand.

Unfortunately if you look at the protagonist's skin color, the immediately lethal response does have some basis in reality...

This is exactly how I feel. Music, Art, Dedsec personalities. Love all of it.

Also fuck everyone that says there should be no guns, after playing through the game pure stealth then playing one of the last missions with the Ctrl Alt Delete launcher hooboy that shit was fun as fuck. Blowing up cop cars and watching bodies fly. I cannot wait to go back and use it again and try out the other weapons.

In the comparison videos I've watched, there appears to be no difference in draw distance between standard PS4 and Pro - not for geometry, shadows or LOD. Maybe I'm wrong, but I was looking at those aspects specifically. Don't know whether to be impressed with the standard version or slightly disappointed with the Pro version.

It sounds like it's maybe balancing and gear progression that hampers the guns?

Are there way more powerful weapons you unlock later? Sounds like early weapons are all wayy too weak.

Even the security guards on the film set operation will hurl hand grenades about like their sweets.

*edit*
Yay no longer a junior!

The whole government watch dog, data collecting, spying, security, hacking ...I love it.
The quests that are based off of real life events are so damn good. The game has great social commentary. It does not take itself serious most the time.

Oh and I love pretty much all the music, art and style too. The little audio conversations when hacking people have all been hilarious and oh man some of the txts you read too.
This is kind of a dream game for me.
I'll be down for some co-op tonight!

Man really hoping they get invasions working soon. Really wanna ruin people's day consistently.

There's one mission at the end of the game that gives you access to all the guns and then once you beat the game you get most of them for free, though so far I've only used the sniper and the CTRL+Alt+Del launcher so I'll have to get back to you on that later, I also spent most of my skill points in every other tree but tinkering and marksmanship so I can't answer that either. But there are stats on all the guns in the 3D printer and the more powerful the more pricey they are so it's more of money thing. Personally I never found money hard to come by, you can rob people with your phone and there's a skill that allows you to target people with hundreds of dollars then there's money stashes and you get money from quests. I've made maybe 250-300k throughout my whole playthrough and I've only found a few money stashes

These are all the reasons I love it too and I found the main characters to be great all around, Marcus is a fuckin dick but in a funny way, Wrench is ridiculous and the interactions between the two are great, like Marcus calling Wrench a cracker Bev Wrench called him a dark wanderer or something and the way Ray fits into the team. They really knocked it out of the park with this one and I can't wait to get back into it with the gang. And I'm down! Also have a mic and headset so we can voice chat if you want.

Edit: I was also overhearing a conversation with some guy complaining about a data dump and how all of his dick pics got leaked and he was pretty frustrated because his dick was small and I was /dead

I just did the tutorial while the rest of the game installed, and I really enjoyed the gameplay and fluidity of the game. That background music playing was also really sweet.

I'm starting to enjoy it more now. Had fun earlier this morning.

Still not blown away, but it is a good game and better than I thought yesterday when I hadn't had much sleep.

Game has played fine the last two days for me, now this morning I can't get past the retro login/press a (on xbox) screen. Anyone else have this issue?

I need the online part to work soon. So far I feel this has been a big step back from the first one. Half the time I feel I am just going from icon on the map and doing some Mundane action and that's the quest.

Plus this whole Robin Hood hacker group thing is not doing anything for me. I wouldn't care if the gameplay was better but I feel it's just slightly improved with worse content.

I haven't been able to get a single Research point yet. Do I need a skill I'm not aware of? Are these all (or mostly) requiring the flying drone that I don't have yet?

I do have the forklift skill, but it seems pike most of them don't even have forklifts around.

I'm actually quite optimistic as Ubi has cultivated a solid track record over the past couple of years. Steep's open beta, The Division, Far Cry Primal, R6 Siege, AssCreed Syndicate and The Crew are all great "ports", and AssCreed Unity was patched up nicely.
