10% encounter rate on Route 1, on two specific patches of grass.
Yup. Stupid.
I suppose I'll stop my progress and spend time backtracking to fill in the Pokedex a bit until either a friend of mine beats the game or a kind EndgameGAFer comes along, because I really want to play through my game with a Ghost/Fire Marowak that actually knows Ghost and Fire moves.
Which sucks, considering I've put 21 hours into this game in the past three days and want to keep playing, but may also be a blessing in disguise considering I've put 21 hours into this game in the past three days.
That's the high point in difficulty in the gameEveryone talking about island trials and Ilima's Smeargle almost wiped me haha.

I'm still pretty early in the game (just finished the school), but is there a way of seeing if there are any pokemon you haven't caught yet on each part of the island?
I don't remember the poke-name of the device from ORAS, which showed badges/medals for all pokemon caught for each route etc., but does SM have anything like that?
I'm sorry. Still got nothing on Smeargle.Mallow's Totem Pokemon almost wiped my entire party.

Huh, that's a huge step down. That feature in ORAS (XY too? I forget) was the single best QoL of life improvement for me, since I like to stick around each area until I catch everything. It's weird that with all the changes for the better that SM has to make it easier and more approachable, they ditched that one.Unfortunately not, all you've got is Rotom.
Can confirm. Ember too strong.Everyone talking about island trials and Ilima's Smeargle almost wiped me haha.
Steenee is my new favorite Grass type. So adorable I can barely stand it.
As for the late release, don't worry, EUGAF; we'll still be hype. And we also have a (very sleepy) Discord chat for you to join if you like.

Ilima actually did beat me lmao
Haven't lost since, but that was an early wake-up call
I did kinda double-take when it started Embering me and then I looked at my team composed of Rowlet/Grubbin/Magnetite/Grimer/Cutiefly.
Like..."Uhhh...ummm...huh."
I lost. Rematch I almost lost too but I knew I could survive a hit and it would knock smeargle into potion range and then blaze boosted fire gang for the KO
Can confirm. Ember too strong.
When do you unlock Poke Pelago?
Right before the bridge, if you're going from the town heading north.
It's near the berry tree.

Am I the only person who sells their rare candies for cold hard cash?
I'm only the first half of the second island but man, the "healing stations" really takes away the tension you'd normally face. Also I'm very not fond of the region structure. Literally just small paths with maybe a few branching. Even Kalos and Unova wasn't this restrictive!
Also SOS is really lame when you're trying to catch Pokemon.

Anyone in PokeGAF is allowed.Does it have to be from EU though? I would like to join a Discord for pokeGAF.

Sorry, having trouble finding this sort of info on this site. There's A LOT of info here. Is there a page showing encounter rates per area or do you have to drill down into a Pokemon's individual page? The former would be nice.
Huh? I found a regular cubone on Route 7, I thought it was supposed to alolan form?
Go to the sun/moon page
Click on the Sun/moon pokedex
Click the pokemon you wanna know where to find
If you want to know what else is catchable on the route, click the name of the route to be taken to its page

Is it weird that I'm 6h and half in and I still have not completed the first trial?
Taking my time exploring everything. It's really a beautiful region
Eh, healing stations have been a thing for a long time now.
Blah... At least I'm thankful for high abra encounter rates, was terrible for ORAS. Collecting a ton of them for nature farming.
