It's always possible but at that price, I say pull the trigger. If it drops again, you can always contact Amazon and they'll usually make it right. I paid $1.1k just a few months ago.

I have the Disney WOW disc. Maybe it has test patterns. I'll check when I get home from work at midnight.

It seems to me after reading the last few pages auto/auto is still the best setting bc of wizards technology doing its thing anyways?

Someone told me 10 bit than I read someone say 8 but was giving them better test pattern results.

So my wife and I are watching tv, specifically Flip or Flop, a show on HGTV and I swear every time it goes to change scene it looks like the screen jerks. There are usually people moving every scene so I don't know if it's a motion thing, but does anyone else have this issue? Also, if there's no one moving, then someone starts moving, it does the same thing at first. She's like, "the other tv didn't do this..." which, quite frankly is true, I never had these kind of issues before.
And SD channels look like crap
we really don't watch them too much, but some of the Disney channels we get and shows on BabyFirst tv are in SD (we have a 14 month old) so they are on on occasion and my plasma displayed them much better than this tv.

it really depends on the connection speeds. check the youtube info, i think if it shows at least 40,000Kbps, you will get 3480x2160 and it will say 4k. It the connection is slower it will show HD and display 1440p or 1080p.

i dont have cable tv, but have you seen this on other sources like netflix or blurays?
Yes SD is not gonna look at good as the plasma, because of the bigger resolution differences. The sd source will have to scale a lot more.

There's a setting for 720p stuff.
I believe it's digital clean or something. Not near my tv. That's what you want for low res stuff as longs as it not supposed to look grainy.
I think it's a matter of getting lucky, their Low Price Guarantee says it doesn't apply on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

I'm really not overly concerned about the SD content. I'd hate to keep changing settings for the SD stuff then back to normal for HD broadcasts. My concern is over the motion and jerkiness or studdering. I haven't tried out any Blurays or Netflix, don't have Netflix, though I'll be getting it soon.

Someone explained a few pages back why this tv does that. Frames hang.
I don't know if anyone has any success cleaning it up. I would assume if so it would be tweaking the auto motion stuff.

That might be a good way of stating it. It almost looks like it gets stuck on a frame then catches up, it's noticeable and annoying. It isn't on every thing though. On the one show it happens a lot, but then I go to sports (American Football) and while it still happens, it's less frequent. It is noticeable though. We have Directv.
You should always go with John Lewis over Amazon when it comes to TV's anyway.

Make sure the following are turned OFF:
Digital clean: Off
Auto motion Plus: Off
If they are both off, do you have a receiver involved? Otherwise, it's tough to say what is going on.

Blur is at 8, though that's more from me playing around with it. I think it was at like 5 before. It was auto set at 10 I think when I set it to Movie setting or something. I can move it down to 0 though and see how things look. DCE is off though.
I wish that were the case, bought an Acer Predator monitor from them and a day later it dropped in price. Contacted CS and they said no 'because prices change all the time' :|

I'd say all the settings talk in here is about users better understanding which settings do what; and how they might be best applied to deal with specific issues. It's really useful stuff.
Yeah that's good then, went through a few pages and there was some pretty decent and useful stuff. I think a lot of people learnt a lot too. Now I really want a 4K TV in my gaming room and a Pro haha! We have a Samsung JS9500 in the living room that was calibrated by the owner of hdtvtest.co.uk, but only use it for SkyQ/Netflix mainly. But ended up swapping the Blu-ray player with an Xbox One S

should i buy it, its 740 euros

It says the constrast and blacks are not good on sony one and i still dont know if HDR is worth it cause we berely see games using it.

Does anyone know how to get 10 bit with a Pascal Nvidia card (I have a 1070) with this TV? I set it to YCbCr 4:2:0 and it gives me the option for 8 bit or 12 bit? If I want 10 bit do I set it to 12?

It'll fit. My stand is about 48" and I have a few inches to spare on both sides. I want to say the legs are 44" apart.
A real gentleman, thank you for taking the time to respond! Sounds fantastic, I was not feeling like upgrading if I had to go with the 49'', cause that's barely bigger than the TV I have now (46'').

This is isn't necessarily 4K/HDR-related, but has anyone had any weird things happen when attaching a NES Classic mini console to one of these TVs?
I have a 40-inch Samsung, and everything mostly runs okay, save some weird scene transitions in a new NES Classic games where instead of the image snapping from one image to the next (say, like in the transition from the overworld to the battle screen in Final Fantasy), there's a weird, blobby bleeding-away effect?
I should probably shoot some footage of what I'm talking about since I haven't seen anyone else have this problem on any TV with the NES Classic, and this has been the *only* bit of weirdness I've had with my new Samsumg TV (well, once I turned off all the motion-smoothing and other image post-processing effects, that is.)

What about the tests like this ?
Does the TV not let you put up a picture on it ? Rtings has the grey uniformity and black test pics and I figured you would just put those on a flash drive and then select them to bring them up on the screen to test right ?

Yup you can. I put em on a usb stick. I did that when i received my tv.

Anyone have a custom color space setting? I've been messing with it since the native option kind of over saturates things. Just have it on auto for now, but those reds need to be a bit darker.

So the input lag on this with 4k @ 60Hz + HDR is 21.1 ms according to RTings. Would that be a major noticeable difference over a 5 ms monitor if all you're doing is playing console games, mostly at 30 fps but also some at 60 fps? What about online, where I get like 10 ms ping. Sorry if this is some what off topicish, but I'm trying to understand how important input lag is, and at point it doesn't matter as much anymore.
Have you actually used a calibration like a wow disc to det your color and tint?
Both tv I had now wanted tint at 48/
But my last tv wanted color at 54 while this wants 48
So I would start there.
Can I just view those rtings tests you guys are telling me about on the Web app?

Eco is off and Xbox says it supports 10 bit so I did 10bit with PC RGB

If I have an older receiver with only digital audio input will my 5.1 surround still work with a KS8000/8500? I don't have ARC ports.
