Would love to see what you settled on.
I've been using the PS4 media player to stream from my PC, the Plex app and media apps on the TV were giving me issues - but I do like the idea of that.
I was wondering which video settings do the apps use since they aren't technically an input?
My settings give or take. This are for streaming and movies, as well as playing 4k Movies on my XB1S.
Brightness 48
Contrast 92
Gamma 0
Black Level 56
Black Adjust to Low
Ad Contrast Enhance Medium
Color 50
Hue 0
Color temp Expert 1 (I used to go with neural or cool but i am rpetty happy with the warms of expert 1.
Live Color High (i use high on games too, i just like vibrant a whole lot more than muted. In Uncharted 4 its awesome.
Sharpness 56
Reality Creation Manual
Resolution 20
Masterd in 4K On
Random Noise Reduction Low
Digital noise reduction low
Motionflow On
Smoothness 1
Clearness Min
CineMotion Auto
HDR Auto
HDMI VR Auto
Color Space Auto
For Games i just disable everything that is auto.
If i know there are a lot of flashing lights in the movie and you get white or black spots from the contrast or black levels i just disable those. Its just nice when you get clear contrast.
The live color is one of the things i do keep on whether its on Game or on Movies.I don't think it adds to the input lag at all, and the gain from it without me tinkering around hue is significant. but like i said, its a preference. i do like bold vibrant colors. But i guess the nature of the games i play with them tend to benefit from it.
On the Ps4 Pro
Ratchet and Clank
Uncharted 4
Infamous SS and FL
PC
Battlefield 1 which looks outstanding
Shadow Warrior 2 with its HDR that looks sweet.
Titanfall 2 which is nice.
Hope these help you out. I tuned the movie settings using HDR in mind when testing it with Bosh, Red Oaks (which btw looks awesome) and some other 4k media from Netflix / Amazon. It was later that i did a bit of tweaking with the 4k movies and the XB1S.
Long post. Sorry haha.
