How successful is the season 1 of Street Fighter 5? If that is anything to go by, and possibly with how season 2's roster looks, I'm fairly certain a seasonal format for released characters on MVC4 doesn't seem too far-fetched. I certainly welcome it.

Arthur
C. Viper (It's SFV now, so a rep from that or Juri)
Firebrand
Haggar
Morrigan (I know she's the go to DS rep, but I want someone else)
Spencer (Replace with a new franchise)
Trish (Replace with Lady)
Tron Bonne (Replace with another MM character)
Viewtiful Joe



Marvel:
Dormammu (On the fence with him)
M.O.D.O.K. (Was a surprise, but let's get a villain more people want)
Nova (replace with someone from the GOTG main team)
Phoenix
Sentinel
Shuma-Gorath (Seems to only be there due to being capcom requested)
Storm (More I just want her updated)
Super-Skrull (Never liked him)
X-23 (rather have another female marvel character here)

I have no real concrete reasons on my list other than my gut instinct. On the Capcom side, a lot of it is do to being smaller characters that could be cut to let other smaller characters get a chance in the spotlight. Any specifics I had on a character I listed. Most of the one's I left blank I want to see replaced with a new franchise that hasn't had a chance yet.

On the Marvel side it's a part of expecting very little X-Men/Fantastic Four even if they do make it. Aside from that some of the character's i'm just tired of seeing or don't feel they really need another appearance.

I don't really have any hard feelings if any does come back though. Aside from maybe two character again for Ghost N Goblins. That was always really weird to me.
All those other franchises that need representation. But let's add another character that wasn't even that highly request.

However they reveal MvC4, it'll never top the hype Smash got when Cloud was announced. People were going out of their goddamn minds for him.

Oh my gosh if this is real, I'm excited. I always loved the MvC series, even if I was trash at it. I still enjoyed the games though. Also I need my Cap, Wolvey and Spidey team again.

Cloud and Snake easily had the biggest amounts of hype. Just because both of them were absolute shocks that no one could have guessed in a million years as happening.
It's why I stand by third party reveals will always be the biggest thing for smash.

Hmm well since jean grey is getting a stand alone comic series soon along with ice man, im willing to bet it will be the teen versions of the original 5 Xmen.

I'm not even sure if Spider-Gwen could be unique enough in fighting style to be a separate character. Maybe as an alternate costume for Spider-Man with a unique voice.

As for Gwenpool, I can only see her getting in as a substitute for Deadpool (if Capcom got screwed out of any Fox characters). That being said, Deadpool vs. Gwenpool would be interesting to see.

Assuming that MvC4 is real and goes with Peter Parker & Richard Rider as Spider-Man & Nova respectively, I can totally see those two getting special alternate costumes of the other people who have donned variants of their names.
 
It'd be interesting if they did MvC1 Ryu with Gwen. 3(or in this case 2) characters in 1 slot(i think, been a while since I've played mvc1)

Pheonix maybe the most hated character ever, but because of her we got one of the best fighting game exhibitions ever in Good vs Evil in Season's Beatings 2011. I would kill to find a high quality archive of that somewhere.

She made anyone who played her a heel, and made the game better for it. I want her back.
 
Phoenix should come back... screw the haters. Obviously not in the same mechanics of course and I say that for most every character in Marvel 3.

Phoenix has created some of the best moments in Marvel history.
 
I gotta calm down. For all we know, we could have both Deadpool AND Gwenpool.

Sometimes they aren't actually teases but rather shit he enjoys, but it's hard to tell what's a tease & what isn't unless it's either blatant or after the fact.

Not really but people over think the teases and start to get hyped o er nothing.

Lupinko was teasing Firebrand before UMVC3 but everyone thought it was Carnage.
