There is something very very lacking in this ffs story telling than any previous entry. I feel it's due to the lack of cut scenes, and any narrative that drives the plot. Yes, my 30 hours (I'm only in chapter 8) , have been 90% gameplay to maybe 10% watching a scene , but all other final fantasies I think had a better balance. Granted I did not play 13, but my understanding was that it was the opposite of 15. Maybe the team wanted to really try approaching the game from the opposite spectrum. It's a shame because all my favorite classics , ff4 all the way through ff10 , told such complete stories. Every person in a town was someone to talk to, every party member introduced in a grandiose fashion. There were big cut scenes that drove big stories. Ff15 has none of it. It doesn't do what I loved about all my favorites. Regardless I'm still having a great time with out, and I love the characters. I just wish the story would present itself in a way of past ffs. The events that transpire in ff15 don't feel impactful. I don't even know what the devs were thinking treating it like this.
