Exactly the same. I remember having so many conversations, even here on GAF, about how I would really prefer for a sequel to introduce other characters. But the instant I saw Ellie, and then Joel, I went apeshit.

Ellie is going to look a lot older after 3-4 years than Joel would. I don't know about you, but I don't look any different at nearly 35 than I did at 32. 17 year old me looked way different than 14 year old me.

But that game was Joel's story. Just his.

This trailer suggests that this time it's Ellie's turn to take the lead.

And I am so in.

This is kinda my take, as well. Joel's relationship with Ellie is more or less his chance at redemption after losing his own daughter.

See, for me I interpreted it as those bodies were probably fireflies that she just massacred and she hasn't found out completely yet. But then throughout the game she will find out which will be heartbreaking and I'll hate my life and go into a spiraling depression and love it.
