The Last of Us Part II announced

Well now I'm just uncertain if you actually did understand. Certainly you can ascertain how uncertainty had a certain role?

Of course it does.

However a sequel that we know next to nothing about isn't ruining any kind of uncertainty. We still don't know anything about the future and still might not when we finish the second one. Just because Ellie and Joel are older means nothing at this point.

Hence nothing being ruined.

whats with all these ignorant comments?

Accusing the developers being lazy or money-hungry because they feel that there is a story left to tell?

lol they had all possibilities of the world and actually i think by continuing the Story of Ellie & Joel the pressure is much bigger than starting with completely new characters

This is what it's gonna be like for the next couple of years. Once the regulars have left, and the people interested in the actual game have gone to their community thread, all we'll be left with is those types of comments. Just look at any Mass Effect thread. It'll be fun!

Yea you better spoiler protect that...

Wait, is it not spoiler tagged? It looks spoiler-tagged on my end lol.

Anyway what a fucking day.

Fantastic Friday night.

UCLA beat Kentucky.

TLOU Part II announced, a sequel to maybe my favorite game of all time.

It's a good weekend.

Sony exclusives, the only games not allowed to have sequels on GAF. How can one system have so many haters.

Literally every game, TLOU, Uncharted, Infamous, KZ, GoW, all had posts bitching about sequels.

You have a quality game like TLOU on another console and fans would be begging for it none stop. Even mediocre games like Crackdown gets begged for a sequel. How tiring.

TLOU's combat was so much better than Uncharted's. More weighty impactful, better A.I., and survival based crafting added a layer of strategy on harder difficulties. Encounters could, and often needed to be tackled with creativity. Looking forward to seeing that expanded here.

Uncharted 4 really stepped up the combat, I'd say its one of the best shooting games ever mechanically. Go play RotTR and see the difference.

Of course it does.

Certainty certainly unseats certain uncertainty.

Personal theory:
Fireflies have been hunting Ellie since Joel ran out of there with her. They finally caught up and killed some people she cares about (she felt really at home in that house, possibly her family?) before she could stop them. Now she's pissed and isn't going to stop until they're all dead. Joel tags along for support (including emotional when the anger finally runs out). Cue an emotional roller-coaster that leaves us weeping in the corner.

Joel definitely sounded less gravely here. Probably a quick and dirty vo session

I liked the inclusion of, "part 2", in the title, as if theirs some of epic or importance awaiting us in this sequel :-)

It's probably more that just adding a 2 to the end reads awkwardly. That and the community was pretty divided about wanting a sequel. So they can play this off as the story always being planned for parts and not just them milking something that got popular.

I'm glad it looks like it's taking place quite a while after the first one with how old Ellie looks. A sequel that picked up right away would have been weird but with some time and space between the two I feel like they can introduce some new and cool shit.

This. Naughty Dog if your reading this ignore GAF please and continue as you do. Thanks

It's not to far fetched that joel got killed and she's seeing a ghost. But that may be to obivous.

This series doesn't seem like a "ghost" series to me, whether we're talking literal specters or characters' imaginations. Last of Us is too much about subtlety for that and I'm kind of surprised people are that into such a theory.

Not sure if we should spoiler-tag our story predictions based on the trailer, but I've got a big hunch that
Joel is already dead here. Fireflies caught up to them, killed Joel, failed to capture Ellie again.

Joel looks to 'clean', not that much older, to relaxed in speaking. Looks like either her mind/conscience talking to her. Would be the likeliest thing to motivate Ellie going on a rampage against the Fireflies.

She'll learn more about what Joel kept from her, having to deal with that Joel against her memory of father Joel. Complex relationships yo.
Aw man, I love this theory. I really want Joel to redeem himself, though.

Uncharted 4 was wonderful. It cemented the Uncharted franchise into legendary status and even if people disagreed on the pacing of the game; a lot of them still agreed that the ending was great. Uncharted 4 was necessary to the franchise and an excellent send off since ND isn't making another one. Now Uncharted 3 on the other hand... Meh.

More than a few were meh and disappointed on UC4.

Puzzles were nonexistent, Sam's whole arc was nonsensical, villain was basically mini-me lazarevic, pacing wasn't good, lack of setpieces, no twist in enemies at all, too much climbing, etc.

I enjoyed UC3 more than 4 in more ways than one.

I actually wonder where the people are who tried to convince everyone that Druckmann/Straley were going to be so much better and how they were so much better than Hennig.

What does this mean for the poster at the end of UC4? Is that relevant to II or we don't know yet? I'm very excited for a 2nd game but I can understand why many think it ruins the first game.
