It just hit me that the guys are going to live on without Noctis in a peaceful world. Now I'm depressed again.
Unless they died, which is what I'm going with. Far more comforting for them all to be together in the afterlife.

By the way, I wanted to bring this up, but I'm guessing it's probably not a coincidence that "l'cie" and "lucis" are very similar in the Japanese. ルシ and ルシス.

Also notable in the Japanese version is that the "daemons" were referred to as "shigai", similarly to FFXIII's "Cieth". I'm sure there are some elements from FNC still remaining somehow.
Bahamut's face really reminded me of a fal'cie
Ardyn is not Noctis' ancestor. Here's how it went (According to him).
*Ardyn was of Royal blood. He was next in line for the throne. His name was Ardyn Lucis Caelum, of the Lucian bloodline.
*He had powers to heal the people affected by the Starscourge parasite. Much like the Oracle of modern times (Luna).
*In order to save the people of the world, Ardyn absorbed the Daemons into himself. He healed everyone and saved the world in ancient times.
*However, the Crystal and the gods (Who decide who becomes King), deemed Ardyn to be unfit for the throne due to his soul being stained/corrupted.
*A man named Izunia (Or with surname Izunia) shit-talked about Ardyn and turned him into a pariah. Apparently he began a campaign against Ardyn, making people fear and hate him.
*The Crystal and the gods choose this Izunia guy as the new King instead. Izunia adopted the "Lucis Caelum" surname. This is Noctis' ancestor. Noctis is actually an Izunia, not a "real" Lucis Caelum.
*Ardyn was pissed. After everything he had done to protect the world and heal the people, the gods and the Crystal had turned against him. And Izunia (Now Lucis Caelum) had made the people hate him too.
*Ardyn's plan was to fuck up the world. Fuck up or kill the gods, shatter the Crystal and end the "fake" Lucis Caelum line.
Also surprised by the lack of CG cutscenes in this game honestly.
The one after Luna's death was amazing though.
I kinda was hoping he'd get to talk to Regis and the other kings tbh.The ring scene in ch 13 sucked compared to kingsglave
Are you sure this's what happened? When I saw the scene what I understood was that Ardyn was the jealous king and that he literally transformed the healer into a deamon, and that's why the crystal cursed him with immortality, as a punishment.
Maybe I got it completely wrong, I need to rewatch that scene.

Where did you guys get the info about Ifrit?
Honestly he just felt shoehorned in without any explanation on why he's on Ardyn's side.
No ardyn was the healer. I think izunia was his brother, nocts ancestor. It makes the whole thing more of a betrayal. He heals the people only to be turned down by the gods, then his own family disowns him and turns him into a monster. Way worse than some random dude becoming the new king and bashing him.Are you sure this's what happened? I felt nothing for the Luna character or the relationship her and Noctis had. I mean, the game didn't really do a good job of making you care about her character or the sacrifice she was making. Instead of feeling like an important character she was just reduced to a mere plot device. You get dialogue from her on the radio and a couple of flashback scenes with them as kids and you're meant to give a shit about her death? Ugh.
I love when you choose to take a picture of Iris and Gladio says he'll turn a blind eye or whatever.
The ending must be hilarious if you choose a picture of NISSIN Cup Noodles.
I'm a boring person and chose the Caem photo with everyone before going to Altissia
CG cutscenes do take a lot of space, especially since this game is dubbed and lip-synced in several languages. In older FFs, the English dub for CG scenes is usually off considering they're made for the Japanese dub. When FFXIII lip-synced the CG scenes to both languages, it meant having to store double the cutscenes in the game if they wanted to include both voices (which did happen in the Steam version).
And of course, the fidelity in in-game graphics nowadays means that you can have a really cool in-game cutscene (the KoTR fight at the very end for example) without needing to resort to CG.
I miss CG scenes dearly though. The lack of an Altissia CG scene in game disappoints me to no end.
Is this insanity ?
XII's is absolutely masterful and nailed the atmosphere in every single location.
I mean just witness this incredible usage of Clarinet in The Skycity Of Bhujerba
Or the umistakble liveliness of Rabanstre
Or he unraveling mystery in Giruvegan
This is legenedary stuff.Greatly enhances the gameplay.Meanwhile we get an mp3 player and dead silence in FFXV.
Can't wait for the remastered soundtrack.
Noctis literally says nothing about the bros reconstructing Lucius. Nor does Noctis saying what Regis says imply that they survived.
Like 10 minutes later you can go backThe game's asking me to talk to Iris to take the boat. I'm level 34. Should I continue doing hunts and sidequests or should I just continue the main quest?
How long will it take until I can come back?
Sephiroth could wreck you if Supernova hit with some infortunate stats. Of course, it wasn't hard but at least it kept you in check.
Kuja wasn't too bad with Flare Star shooting twice sometimes (And Necron could wreck you with status ailments)
Ardyn? You would need to have 0 healing items and leave the controller in the ground for a minute.
Just because you have healing items doesn't mean something is piss easy. I died during Ardyn's first phase. I've never died once at Kefka, ever.
I am fairly certain that the game switches to pre-recorded cutscenes that use the in-game engine at a few points, though. Mostly because it'd be too much stress for the game to load in all the assets at once (when you arrive in Altissia, it switches to pre-recorded at the last moment), or it's drawing in too much.
I don't expect anyone to agree on anything Final Fantasy, especially the story, so no use really arguing about it. What I am glad to see, is that even though not everyone agrees this is the worst Final Fantasy story, the majority are putting it in the bottom half of the series, and I don't think anyone is saying it's the best?

Man it really just hit me, but Noctis saying "Where we're going, there are no roads" upon first use of the flying car sounds so bittersweet in light of the fact that he's dead. The quote is like one of those things you hear when someone's just living out in an endless dream world, never to wake again...
The story, the main characters and the villain are actually great, probably among the very best in the Final Fantasy series. This story is however told very poorly in the game and is additionally fragmented over a plethora of other media like Kingsglaive, Brotherhood, FFXV Prologue, the game guide and soon the DLC episodes.
at least gladio can finally fish
Whoa! DLC pleaseOh! Noctis and Luna confirmed for WoFF?
