One of my fave parts of that scene is the Rebel trooper yelling "Launch!" Sounds fucking terrified and it's stood out to me every viewing.
Oh yeah and the Vader stuff is good too.
I might be alone in this but I thought the final Vader scene wasn't needed because it took away from the Jyn/Cassian death scene. The rebel flagship should have just jumped away and transmitted the plans to Leia's ship.
I'm probably late but after seeing a lot of people complaining about this they forget that Tatooine is a planet located in the outer rim, most of the time it was ignored by the republic and the galatic empire. The people living there probably don't know what a Jedi looked like because they have been considered extinct for 20 years. Obi Wan's robes look very similar to the robes most people use there too and even if he drew his lightsaber, it was inside a ghetto cantina were it appears killing is something normal, he didn't use any force powers so they may as well thought he bought/found the lightsaber. Also, the Empire wasn't on the planet before and they weren't on a Jedi hunt either, they were looking for the droids so they can conclude that is just an old guy killing another guy with a weird sword.
I've seen a lot of horror films. This is an iconic horror movie scene. Vader gives no fucks.
It's not needed for plot, but dear God does it work regardless. It reminds you that for all the machines and empires, a Jedi is the most frightening thing of all.
It'll end up being one of those iconic Star Wars moments. Incredible scene.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but with the history of Star Wars and re-releases, what are the chances that somewhere down the line when the technology is better we could get a special edition which does a better job with Tarkin and Leia?

why is Vader not wrecking shit at the start of New Hope. Just walks in looking for the plans like me when I've lost my car keys and I'm late for work.

Surprised Whitaker is getting so much shit.
Reckon his performance will age like a fine wine.

It was just ultimately a pointless characterYeah his performance is great, definitely strange and odd, but in a totally fascinating "what the fuck has this guy been through???" kinda way.

HAHA! Star Wars fans are brilliantly delusional. I can't sop laughing.

He had information critical to the rebellion and is the lynchpin for getting Jyn into the rebellion. How is he pointless? It was just ultimately a pointless character

Yeah I'm not getting the hate. Great performance wasted on a useless character. Still makes me mad that he was pretty much worthless. He was the most interesting character of the movie tbh.Yeah his performance is great, definitely strange and odd, but in a totally fascinating "what the fuck has this guy been through???" kinda way.
Gonna do a new ranking cuz you guys like it
Empire Strikes Back/The Force Awakens
Revenge of the Sith/Rogue One
A New Hope
Attack of the Clones
Return of the Jedi
The Phantom Menace
Jesus Star Wars went game of thrones and shit with this film. Was shocked to see literally everyone die. Thought yeah maybe you get the occasional side character who goes out with a bang but Jesus, even the main characters.
Eh was pretty much expecting them all to die since it's a prequel so they're all inconsequential to the plot of the rest of the movies and also it felt like the movie was always being sold as a sucide mission for all involved
Surprised at how little I cared about any of them dying. Liked the actors but blehh. None of it made even a miniscule impact. While there are defo strong scenes in here and it doesnt have the lows of the prequels I think I might one day call this the worst star wars movie up to this point
Also this would have been blatant but whatever it would have been hilarious if after Ben Mendelsohn questioned Vader, that Vader responded with "do you feel in charge?" As he force choked him. My dude has a bad history with bad guys in masks
The ending is atrocious. It's almost as sloppy, lazy and as nonsensical as the end of RotS. Should have just let the movie have its own ending instead of hamfistedly trying to run it up to the beginning of ANH.

Mine isn't actually that much different but okay.
Point of contentions I have with most people: I don't like 4 or 6 as much as others, and I don't hate 2 and 3 as much as others.
