I love the design of that outfit! My favorite so far. Hope there's a lot more like it.

Interesting, I'd have assumed that as well, but the jungles throw me off. Unless I'm mistaken, the US doesn't have any.

Though I guess their excuse could be that climate change resulted in jungles, or it's a super condensed representation of North America that does stretch down to Mexico.

I think both of your explanations are pretty much exactly how to justify all this different terrain being in the game.

For the curious, I will mention that the US does have a number of rainforests, but most of them run from Alaska down to central California.
Unsurprisingly, none in (present-day) Colorado.

The animation for aloy is so good when moving about and in combat .
RPG wise nothing else comes close and the only other open world game that as good is AC IMO.

That fucking platforming. There is some huge catch with this game, there has to be.
They took the best parts of many different games and created a new action-focused gameplay loop.

It's like RE4 with primitive weapons, Uncharted/TR stealth and traversal, Fallout dialog trees, and GG's amazing tech. Think it's going to be amazing, with the inevitable sequel being even better. I think Horizon's biggest weak point is going to be it's hand-to-hand combat, it's just not as buttery smooth and deep as the shooting and dodging, I can see that being a big priority for the sequel.

I can't help but be skeptical despite being blown away by every single thing I have seen in the last two years.

A studio who made some good not great FPS games, is suddenly going to take on this genre and knock it out of the park first try?

Usually games this big aren't exclusives. Something like Mass Effect, Witcher, Bethesda games, etc. that just scream 'huge budget'. This looks the same, but how can it be? Sony gave this team, this new ip, this genre, that kind of budget?

The game looks fucking incredible, but I am just having a really hard time believing that Guerilla Games in their first foray into open world is going to create the best looking console game ever, with well above average WRPG combat mechanics. With absolutely incredible enemy design, deep RPG/crafting/collecting systems. and a story that at the very least has me curious, and looks to be above the standard open world RPG story, Oh by the way it also had slick as fuck movements and a platforming mechanic.

How can that be true? It simply does not compute. It took the Witcher team 3 tries to finally strike pure gold. And the combat was still a weak point, and it even took some time to just get used to the awkward movement mechanics.

I'm buying this day zero and a PS Pro is on the way just for this game. But there is something wrong with this game, there has to be.

Remember the talk of a downgrade? Looks better than ever before.

Everything I've seen from this makes me want to play it. I'm so down >_<

Does not compute.
Edit: nvm I read that as Fallout 4. But in reality Horizon does have Fallout 4 dialogue trees.
Edit 2: I share Vault Dwellers sentiments. That said KZ2 is my GOAT FPS.

Sony always give there big games huge budgets unless you think stuff like GOW , GT , UC or TLOU cheap .
This is suppose to be there next big IP so you got to spend money to make money .

Yea, it really is looking like that. I can't think of many where the gameplay animations looked as good in an open-world RPG setting.

Though purely open world, MGSV had some stellar animation work.

I didn't like the running of Snake and D-Horse, very robotic. Other than that, good stuff.

Holy shit that new bit of footage with the platforming looks amazing. I don't care if it's automated as I love that shit in AssCreed. The animations are incredible.

Everything about this game is looking pretty good. The only thing I'm worried about are the side quests being potentially boring and unfun. I hope their more New Vegas or Witcher 3 and less Dragon Age Inquisition.

Very good interview, some interesting things.

- No new game+ but you can finish everything off everything after completing the story. Disappointing but expected.

- Harder difficulties don't change any behaviour. Just affects damage and resources.

- They originally played around with ideas for multiplayer but settled on single player focus of Aloy's story.

Some Screenshots(bullshots)

Why would these be bullshots....? Have you not seen the game in motion? Not to mention how incredible it looks on Pro.

So the end game stuff we get will only be for that and thats it?

Bummer.

Well, youtube videos don't have this good of IQ ,maybe due to the compression , But unless gamesryde or sony put high bitrate footage to download , i will assume that these aremaybe bullshots, because of the IQ.

Well, they didn't specifically say there won't be any special post game content but I wouldn't expect any, it's not a JRPG. I think you'll just have to hope for some DLC.

I do hope they'll look at JRPGs for influence if there are sequels. Post game dungeons and super bosses are always awesome.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?

I'm guessing they wanted to get a great foundation for the first game. Do it right to start with, get the franchise established and then aim far higher and crazier with a sequel.

Waypoint took down their YouTube video for whatever reason. I got an error in the middle of watching it because it was removed.

Edit: Looks like it was made private, not removed.

Yep, it's understandable really. For the sequel though, I'd like them to go crazy. Rocket boots, jetpacks, mechanical wings! Crazy shit!

I'm getting ahead of myself tho... first game isn't out yet :p

So kinda like Tribes? Lol Any game with jet packs = better automatically.

I just want teh character to be powerfull and to stay that way some time, if this is the case I will rush the campaign to end it as soon as possible and then have lots to do post ending.

I would like to go in all leveled up with some badass gear and weapons to a harder difficulty.
