Doubles is the absolute best when people just wait and see who wins after a kill before engaging. Amazing experience.

Really? How?

I should say I'm in the UK in case that plays its part. On the UK marketplace I get a message telling me it won't be released until April 10th

Also am talking about the Xbox store

That's weird indeed. I can see that it's on sale on US store, but not on Finnish store either, says 10 April.

Didn't realize you were EU. That's fucked up dude, I'm sorry!

Ah so it seems to affect us eu folk

Hopefully people don't dismiss it - it's shady and kind of off putting.

Again - I don't have the will power not to buy the game but this is a trend I would rather didn't get traction.

Anyone think the contrast is too strong? Want to know if its for everyone or just me. I believe this scene takes place during the morning.

How do item levels work? Does your Class level matter? I only seem to get lvl 3 Item max. Should I wait till I'm higher level to spend my crates?

I bought the Standard edition yesterday from the Xbox Store but I'm from the States. I can't imagine why it would be different in the UK, I'm going with it being some sort of mistake/bug on the store front. You should contact their Marketplace support though live chat.

It's the same on PSN EU

I'll give that a go.

Maybe a bit of a knee jerk but I created a thread - i hope that raises visibility and gets it fixed quicker if it's actually just a bug

I suspect it's less likely to be a bug if it affects psn and Xbox users though

Definitely doesn't make things up as he goes along.
How much is the Deluxe Edirion in Europe digital stores?
It's probably the same price as Standard and then in april it goes up in pride and standard because available. It's a policy promo thing.

It's 54 which seems a lot more pricy than games usually are

Sniper elite 4 which also released today is actually 49 so it's only an extra fiver - digital purchases are such a rip off :(

Got a copy from my brother (I was gonna wait for a sale originally), I'm enjoying this more than I did in the betas and I was already having a blast in those. Skirmish is a ton of fun and might be my favorite mode now.

When you level up, you will prestige (I think it was at level 20) and your level will reset. It's recommended to at least save your crates until you've prestiged at least once, because the gear you get from crates before that is just not worth it.

My copy still hasn't arrived, mumble grumble....

Anyways, for those playing the campaign, can you choose who you play as or are they predefined?

I've been reading reddit and there seems that they are very vocal about certain issues that make the game feel unbalanced.

Fixable I assume.

I played the beta and I liked it, somewhat, but really sucked lol.

And I'm also worried about player base.

how is the launch feeling?

Nope, I'm gonna gang up on my enemy every time if they're the last ones left. Stick to 1v1s if you wanna do 1v1s.

Hows the story mode?? I dont hear much about it.

It's absolute trash.

It's mostly just slightly altered multiplayer matches with bots. Story is ridiculous so far and not in the good way. I'm probably going to skip the rest of it (almost through the Knight campaign) and stick to multiplayer.

Cool thanks! So once I prestige I should use the crates as much as I want? or almost 1 ever prestige level?

Damn that's a bummer. Single player campaign is the only reason I was interested in it.

I played the beta and liked it to a degree, but I felt that combat was a little simple, like a fluid game of rockpaper scissors or something like that. Most fighting games do have those rock paper scissors fundamentals but their systems are abstract enough that it doesn't feel that they're underpinning the gameplay, but with For Honour I didn't feel that way.

I also think at the same time, the game is fundamentally not accessible enough to engage the core audience. It's weird that it manages to be less accessible yet more simplistic than something like Dark Souls combat at the same time. Some of my friends got it, but some of them didn't and it's awkward to have a game where a significant part of your audience are going away saying that the experience didn't click with them.

I think it's a unique game and I find that really appealing because I love trying out new gameplay systems and figuring them out, but I'm not sure if it's worth the pricetag for me right now. I also feel that it's absolutely the type of game that will become very inaccessible very quickly if you do not get into it near launch. So for me, I either pick it up soon or not at all.

That depends. If you think your gear is up to date, then there is little need to open crates. If you think your gear level is dropping, then open 'em up.

Gear also has multiple levels of rarity (just like in MMO's), but the negative points it gives increase just like the positive points. So you should also look which gear caters to your playstyle.

I find the campaign decent and better than I thought.
There's characterization and you have some interesting setpieces and gimmicks.

Yeah it's decent. Nothing I would pay for full price though.

If you're only planing to play SP.

Definitely don't get it, if you have zero interest in MP.

Unless they switch it up in the viking and samurai campaigns, you really do just fight bots, capture areas (i.e. the dominion mode in MP) and occasionally mow through trash mobs. Even some of the levels are just maps pulled straight from MP.

That being said, multiplayer is a lot of fun so far.

I picked it up but wont be able to play until later. As someone that was apart of every alpha/beta, it was a mixed bag for me. Some parts I absolutely loved, but I could never get the gameplay to click. Everytime I thought I had a match that was like "Im starting to get this! Woo!", it'd be 5-6 matches following of getting absolutely destroyed! Lol however, should be noted, I only played Dominion. I dont want to do 1 on 1's, and Im too much of a crutch to be someone's +1 to a 2v2.

I would live to play some GAF friends later 1v1 on PS4, maybe 2v2, who currently also suck! Haha Any tips for a good character thats maybe easier to pick up than others to have success with?

I've done some custom matches but is it possible to do like a co-op style on multiplayer? Team up with other people but fight against bots?

You can do many variants in custom match.

I go 1v3 with friends all the time, Feats On :)

I feel they ruined Deathmatch mode... It just turned into a Clusterfuck. If your teammates die you're screwed because then it's like 3-4 v 1 until they spawn. I liked the beta version of Deathmatch.

I feel like they need to divide up the multiplayer modes with a "for honor" or "for glory" setting. Sometimes the complete mess the games turn into when gank mobs running around as roving death squads is fun, but sometimes you just want to have a tournament style, 1v1 elimination bracket style game. Problem is you never know what kind of game you're going to play until the first round is over and one team is salty afterward.

Barring that idea, they should have a "cage match" sort of mode where the four 1v1s are sectioned off from each other and only one person can leave, at which point the survivors can be tossed into a final area where anything goes, that way both sides can get what they want.

It's a tricky question to answer, because there's two different divisions of the audience wanting different things out of the game. Leaving it up to players to resolve during the match is a messy way to handle the issue.
