I just sold nearly all of mine to buy armor and stuff.

I think you'll need all of them sooner or later, so some extra farming is something i planned for later.

All ore can be used but the game is generous giving you them once you have certain tools. Sell away and when the ore is needed use said tools to find them.

Do you mean
the radar? I can't get the compendium to recognize stuff like ore or monster remains.
Is that something I can learn to do down the line?

I've done 30 shrines and got all stamina.

I think I'm good on stamina now. I'm not having any trouble climbing anything anymore. I just wish I could make Link run faster.

Great game, but the durability and limited inventory space is not fun. It makes the game a chore in many respects. Would be better without these systems, or improved versions of them.

T
take pics of the monsters themselves or ore deposits. Make steps on boss monster spawns especially rock monsters since they are ore bonanzas.

You know the blue flame quest in Akkala?

I just took a 3x speed potion and ran down the entire way past all of the monsters lol. All I needed was some Benny Hill music.

Played a whole lot yesterday, got some decent progress in.

Got the elephant tamed and pretty much all of Zora's Domain done. Started Shrine hunting for 13 hearts. Went through the Lost Woods. Picked up the sharpest butter knife in the drawer.

Honestly, the Master Sword seems a little... disappointing. I had expected damage in the 40-50 range. But it does have that thing with doing bonus damage to... something. I'm thinking if it's a boss with Ganon in the name, it's Master Sword time. It's neat that you can shoot your sword with power if you have full health, though. You can't throw it, but you can throw energy discs!

So, next up... Goron or Gerudo? Either way, I should look into heat resistance.

I'm right where you are, yesterday I picked that ting up too, and I had already finished the
zora domain
. Started shrine quest hunting.

I did a WHOLE lot of exploring and sidequesting after though
including entering gerudo town
I climbed mount lanayru and
there is a huge blue dragon up there and a shrine, taht asks you to free it from ganon's blight. It was EPIC, You have to glide along the dragon and fire arrows at the ganon eyes that are on its body, once done, you get teleported back to the shrine and you have to shoot the dragon, it drops a scale, you offer it to the shrine and you unlock a shrine. Awesome.
Then I went to Akkala region and
found the stable and the ancient lab, had to light the furnace, what a looooong walk with the torch, the way was plagued by moblins too.

i also went to Tarrey town, and now I have to find people to come live there.
I also found a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE
maze there, full of guardians, so I'll come back later.

I then went to Hateno village and
bought a house there! Yay! It seems it was already Link's house before? I don't know

After that...
I went to gerudo town and found the man disguised as a gerudo woman, bought the clothes so I could enter the town. Awesome town.

What an adventure.... seriously.... I'm overtaken with joy everytime I play this.

I also picked up some
memories
along the way and oh man are they emotional.

I also want to know, about the
huge dragons flying around
If I shoot them, do they drop whatever the drop, right in front of me? or Below and then I have to go and find it?

Shrine quest.
Which shrine quest?

Does anyone know how to get the Zora pants?
It's a side quest. The one where you need to get the picture of the Lynel, if I remember correctly.

It will fly off the body of the dragon with sparkles, you should be able to track it easily

Played the first three hours, got out of the first area. I want to like this but I'm not blown away by it. It's more frustrating than fun, at least for now. The areas are too big (I'm not a big open world fan), the combat is surprisingly difficult (not in an entertaining way) and there isn't even any good music to help make up for all this. When there's music at all, at least.

I'll keep pushing away, I guess. Wouldn't call myself a Zelda fanboy if I didn't at least give the game a bigger chance.

People hating on the (weapon spoiler)
Master Sword
should really check it again in dungeons.
It is the strongest weapon I have encountered so far.

Forget the first section, it's basically a tutorial. Being overwhelmed is normal, we all settled in a few hours later. You'll pick up quests that can guide you to get you going.

I would recommend doing the
Kakariko and Hateno stuff. You need to get some important gear before venturing out.

Thanks! Found the name of the quest, Laflat is the quest giver in
Zora's Domain
and the quest is named
Lynel Safari

Yeah, I was heading for
Kakariko
before I quit for the night but that zone is so HUGE that it was taking me forever to get there, haha. But thanks, I appreciate the reassurance. :)

Oh cool. Never got around to that since I couldn't find the
ceremonial spear
. Where'd you end up finding it?

Or is it this one? I'll definitely knock this out though
Magnesis scan water. It is a handy tool later on for treasure hunting since it doubles as radar and it's radius is huuuuuge. It's been a while but I do know it is a reward.

He mentions that he dropped it off the side of the bridge. It's pretty much directly under where he gives you the quest; it didn't go downstream with the water at all from what I remember (as I originally started searching towards the waterfall thinking it would have drifted somewhat).

SHit, sold all my bobokin horns in Kakariko Village to buy new armor, then didn't have any when I found the
fairy fountain
! Is it worth upgrading my armor now or should I wait till I find something better?

Also I just got
the blood moon dream sequence from Zelda
, how often do the monsters respawn and does the loot they were guarding respawn too?

This has jumped straight into contention for my personal best games of all time list. I'm just constantly impressed. Absolutely incredible.
I don't want to hype it up too much for people that haven't bought it yet because it does have a bunch of flaws, but I'm like 5 hours in, still on the plateau...and I wouldn't disagree with this at all. The game is absolutely fantastic so far.

Man. The exploration in this game is so good, it's crazy. Dove into the Akkala region a bit today which was more well suited to a horse, I eventually doubled back to central Hyrule and went up to the woods and hooo boy that whole area.

Because it was designed to be the same on Switch and Wii U. No second screen for Switch...

That would be a dumb reason. The second screen is there, why not use it? It was great in WW and TP HD. It's not a huge con but it would have been very nice and practical to have.

Because if the Switch version wasn't the definitive version more people would be fine holding off on buying a Swith and just playing on the Wii U.

What's the consensus on Gaf, is using amiibos cheating? I feel dirty using them for the free consumables, on the other side I'd love to have the classic Zelda gear, but even that makes me feel bad...

It's a built-in mechanic, why would you consider it cheating? The items you get are not game breaking anyway.

I got a Guardian battleaxe++ from the guardian amiibo. It has 60 damage xDDD

It's not really that bad. Free items does not make you suddenly OP lol. Just helps you when you're in a pinch.

Gamed 6 pm til midnight yesterday after i got home from work. This game has sucked in more than Nioh, and i loved Nioh.

I did the flying Divine Beast, that one was probably the easiest one for me, maybe because i have upgraded my link alot by now compared to the first one. Also i have gotten "the jist" of the game. Did the boss in the first try without much or any problem and finished the whole dungeon in maybe 45 mins or so, puzzles are 'easy' in the divine beasts after you have done like 45 shrines. Now i have made my way to Gerudo town and trying to figuring on how to get in.

The death mountain divine beast wasnt that hard either, boss there was also downed in first try. Only the first boss gave me some grief and like 10 tries. But that fight had annoying platforms and water.

And actually, seeing some dungeon gimmick, i'm sure the game was totally made to have the map on the second screen yeah... I would have loved having it like that, especially since i didn't played the HD remake of Zelda.

I just obliterated the first boss with electric arrows from afar with a bow that shot three arrows, and when he got near I used a knights claymore.

First try. Never moved from my starting platform. once they popped up.

Talking about Amiibo cheating; can you use amiibo inside shrines?

I'm sure a random metal chest would fuck up a significant number of puzzles lol.

Are there any ores I should make sure to hold onto or avoid selling? Trying to raise 3,000 for.... stuff.

Heh. I know exactly what you're thinking. I think I'm going to sell away. I'm stacked with minerals. It's time to pull the trigger. Already got the wood needed.

I noticed that the
master sword buffs itself to 60 dmg
when youre close to guardians.

And if you
'break' it you it charges up to full use after ~5 minutes
.

So for anyone deeper into the game, is there any better means of locating the meat like Side quest/shrines, etc? As well, is there a way to know how many shrines you have without counting your heart containers/stamina upgrades?

Do Stamina/Hearts max out at a certain point? Trying to plan, I've been playing non stop since launch day but am hitting some walls.

I haven't found a use for most of them but you might want to hold onto Diamonds.

10 minutes. It boosts itself up everytime you are near a Ganon blighted enemy, not only guardians.

I'm sure it shows shrine count on the loading screen when you travel

You can see your progress (including the shrines) when you teleport. Yes, heart/stamina max out at certain point.
